Jesse and his staff at Union Square Dog Walker provided absolute professionalism, steadfast commitment, and genuine concern for Sake, my Siberian husky. Sake is 12 years old and we've had countless walkers over the years, but I'm taking the time to write this review (my first review ever) because Jesse went far above and beyond the call of duty in order to ensure that my dog was happy and healthy the entire week while the city was devastated by hurricane Sandy and I was stranded in Florida. Jesse and his staff were extremely reliable, trustworthy, kind, and genuinely loved my dog. I was given notice at 2am that I must be on a 6am flight to Florida...6am that morning. Departure date, October 28th. Return date, November 4th. I had four hours to mentally prepare, pack, and get myself to LGA. Added complication, I had literally just moved to Chelsea and didn't know anyone in the area that would be able to walk, feed, and possibly board Sake without knowing me or my dog and on such short notice. I sent six emails to different dog walkers in the Chelsea area at 3am on Sunday morning. By the time I landed in Palm Beach at 10:30am, Jesse, the owner of Union Square Dog Walker, was the first to respond at 7:30am. Jesse clearly understood the sense of urgency in my email and assured me that Sake would be well taken care of while I was away. What a relief!! (FYI, Chris, from D Pet Hotels in Chelsea, was the only other walker to respond to my extremely urgent email) Hurricane Sandy ended up making landfall in NYC while I was away and the city went into shutdown mode, leaving me stranded in Florida for seven days. Naturally, I was worried about how Jesse would be able to care for Sake (we live 21 floors above street level) with no power and elevator service, suspended means of transportation, and in the midst of an extremely dangerous hurricane. Fortunately, Jesse proved his commitment and reliability - he took Sake out of the city to a safe home in Brooklyn, where the power wasn't affected and the storm caused little damage. Throughout the traumatic storm and following chaotic days, it was virtually impossible to place or receive phone calls and send emails in Manhattan, but Jesse had the smarts to figure out how to contact me by cell, text, and email every single day to reassure me that Sake was doing great. They went to the dog park 3-4 times every day, he purchased Sake's favorite food and treats, and spent 24 hours a day with him, so he wouldn't be frightened by the noisy winds and rain. Jesse's constant updates were directly responsible for lowering my blood pressure and thwarting panic-induced heart failure...and I'm a healthy 34 yr old guy! I can't thank you enough, Jesse!! Sincerely, -Tristan read more

I found USDW via Lifebooker. I don't have enough good things to say about Jesse and Amanda. Amanda has been walking my 3yo pug Charlie and has gone above and beyond with him. She always lets me know how he did that day and when he was sick she even saved a stool sample for me (I know that's a bit TMI, but just shows you how willing they are to help in any way they can). Its been so hot and little Charlie doesn't last too long so if the walk doesn't last 30min, Amanda plays with him indoors. USDW genuinely cares. They respond to my texts within minutes and have always been able to help with all my many special requests. The prices for the impeccable service they provide is probably the best in the city. I never worry with like I did with my old service. Jesse his team are incredible and I am so happy to have found them! read more

We used to use USDW a few years ago and had a great experience. Walks were timely and easy communication. Fast forward to 2019 and we just moved back abroad and decided to use USDW again. They seem like a totally different company!!!! Our Dogwalker Michael was great but it is impossible to get in touch with Jesse, the owner, when you have schedule changed. He doesn't reply to any of your emails. We decided to switch service and we couldn't get a confirmation of termination from Jesse. We dealt directly with our dogwalker since we cannot get in touch of Jesse. We gave a week of advanced notice and again Jesse didn't reply on email. And then we came home on the last day and was wondering why we didn't get a text regarding our dogs walk on her last day. It turned out they just took her off the schedule and decided not to walk her. We only found out because we texted the Dogwalker asking if our dog did her business for the day. Save yourself the frustration and stay away from USDW. read more

We've only been using Union Square for a week, but our dog seems to be more comfortable and relaxed. Our initial consultation with Jesse and Annie assured me our dog would be in good hands. They asked smart questions about his habits and preferences. Annie has been wonderful. She not only sends us a text message after each walk, but she updates a dog journal with notes for us. We know which dogs he met on his walk, if he is low on treats and if anything eventful happened. The walks occur at consistent times, the walkers are professional and caring. They respond quickly to questions and concerns. The prices cannot be beaten. I am very happy we found Jesse and Annie. I highly recommed Union Square Dog Walkers. read more

Unlike other reviewers here, I found union square dog walker through a referral (from another dog walker I was talking to. I guess he didn't wanna walk my dog after telling him it was a playful pitbull!) I do wish I could have taken advantage of their lifebooker deals though! It's been about 7-8 months since I started using them and I am extreeeeemly HAPPY with their service. My energetic 2yr old rescued male pitbull and I LOVE amanda, our walker, and she's really good with him. You can tell she really cares about her dogs and knows what she's doing. All the walkers here will text you after the walk is over to let you know how it went, whether he did 1&2. I had just found out through Christine's review that they were not insured/boned... That is sad and a little bit scary, but I know they will do their best to keep your dogs safe and happy read more

I'm so happy I started using Jesse at USQ Dog Walkers! He's very accommodating and personal and is reachable at all times. I would highly recommend! read more

As a newbie to NY, I was very hesitant to sign up for any dog walking service. I interviewed about everyone in NYC, and decided to go with Jesse at USDW. I couldn't have made a better choice. In the initial consultation, he took the time to understand Stanley (my half beagle half bull dog mix). He is extremely thorough, is flexible when i change days and times on him, and I feel confident in the few walkers I've met thru him over the past year. Highly highly recommend USDW. read more

Over the course of 14 years in NYC, I've used many dog walkers and dog walking companies (and had all manner of experiences), and USDW is a true gem. They have been walking my dog for three years now, and the service across that time has been consistently top notch. Their policies are flexible enough to accommodate changes to my work schedule, and they are super responsive and easy to work with. Whenever any issues came up, Jesse immediately jumped in and came up with solutions that worked well for me and my pup. And the walkers at USDW are great; I am pretty sure my dog thinks of Luis as family now! I recommend USDW without hesitation - Jesse and his team are the best out there! read more

We started using Union Square Dog Walkers after we tried a few other dog walking services and we could not be happier. Our dog walker, Luis, is great with our yellow lab. Always arrives on time and never misses a walk. He texts us at the end of every day letting us know how he did on his walks. Our dog gets so happy when he sees Luis! With other dog walking services, it was a revolving door of walkers with inflexible policies. USDW is a cut above the rest: they are flexible, reasonable and the walkers are fantastic. read more

These guys have been wonderful. My regular dog walker (Stephanie) is great, and they also always have someone available if we need an off-hours walk. Very reliable, caring dogwalkers who obviously love what they're doing. What more could you ask for? read more

If you're like me - you consider your pooch to be a family member and like any other family member, you want the very best for them. I ONLY trust Jesse and his team for dog walks, vet visits, and dog sitting. They are consistently on time, they love my dog and they listen to my needs. I'm a busy professional so sometimes I have to change the times my dog is walked or I need someone to take him to the vet- I can trust USDW to take my pooch there and relay all the info back to me. Also, I love getting a text from them knowing what's going on with him in the middle of my day. All in all, the service is great and for what they do for us - WELL WORTH the price and I would recommend any dog owner to them!!!! read more

I hardly ever write reviews, but I really wanted to give a shout out to USDW for their great work. I've been using USDW every week day for almost 10 months now. Like most dog owners, my dog is my everything. I have admittedly become one of those dog-crazy people so I really stressed about finding a loving, dependable dog walker. I was particularly worried bc my dog is a small rescue and very timid and skiddish when we first got her. USDW understood my dog's and my particular needs and paired me up accordingly. The management, Jesse and Anthony are excellent, responsible and responsive; they are on top of their stuff. The cancellation and scheduling policies are also quite flexible which is great because my work is unpredictable. Most of all, the quality of the dog walkers is excellent. My walker, Angie, is truly awesome and really has a way with dogs. I have a doggy streaming camera and my pup looks so excited to see Angie every day. Angie also is very respectful of my apt and wipes my dog's paws down after every walk as I've requested. I never have to worry about my dog's midday walks now thanks to Angie. I was also worried about giving someone a set of my apt keys, but I have had absolutely no issues with USDW on that front. The only slight con is that it seems like the turnover rate for dog walkers is high. I can't imagine that this is unusual bc it seems like dog walking is usually a side or transition gig. I have had 3 dogs walkers assigned to me since I started with USDW, but I would note that every single one of them has been wonderful and that every time I have had to switch dog walkers, USDW is very accommodating and sets up an appointment so I can meet the walker and show the walker how I like things done. In short, I'm very satisfied with USDW. read more

USDW was referred to me by another happy client whom I work with. My family dog, Teddy, is staying with me for about 2 and a half months while my Dad is away and USDW has been so accommodating when it comes to my beloved pooch! I was so pleased to find a service that walks the dogs individually and where the same person comes each day. Janice is great with Teddy and always texts me after his walk. She always dresses Teddy appropriately for the weather because he is only 7 lbs and can get very cold. Janice also lets me know if I'm running low on doggie bags or treats and always makes sure to wipe his paws when he comes inside. She's picked Teddy up from the groomer and walked him from my friend's houses as well when i was out of town. Overall I couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend this company to anyone - a true hidden gem and reasonable NYC prices! read more

We had a great experience with Union Square Dog Walkers for our 65 pound pit-mix. The walkers are very nice, professional and extremely accommodating. We had a daily, one hour midday solo walk Monday through Friday at a reasonable price. No extra fees for cancellations or additional walking needs which is a nice plus when compared to other walkers. We found them to be very responsible and our walker took a genuine interest in our dog which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend them to others looking for a walker. read more

Very reliable. Very professional. Our dog loves her walker. They've built a genuine and trustworthy relationship and we couldn't be happier. As our dog was a rescue, it takes time for her to open up to people and our walker had patience and persistence throughout. We are grateful. Thank you read more

I was in need of a dog walker for my recent rescue, Izzy. Izzy is a bit scared of new people and I was really concerned that he wouldn't let anyone but me walk him. USDW has been great. I used them 3 times this week, and received confirmation from their scheduler, Jared, that Izzy will be taken care of. Christina, the dog walker, showed up on time and sent me such nice texts about Izzy. She let me know when she was there, his temperment and what he did outside. Izzy wasn't scared of Christina and welcomed her with excitement. I really like that USDW walks one dog at a time. That is why I picked them. Izzy gets too distracted by other dogs and would't do his business. I highly recommend USDW and will definitely use them again, as well as recommend them to my friends. Thank you again to Jesse, Jared and Christina. I really appreciate your attention to detail, and how well you took care of Izzy. read more

Union Square Dog Walker is an amazing service. Jesse and his team are reliable and professional. They come by the house to meet the dog and the owner and they ask questions to make sure they are aware of any issues or special requests you may have. Jesse runs a smooth business and I highly recommend this service. The walkers have all been friendly and dependable. They will even send text messages to let you know how the walk went. Jesse is flexible and will work with you to make sure he can meet your needs and take great care of your dog! I highly recommend this service. read more

I have worked with many of Manhattan's dog walking companies and Union Square Dog Walker is by far the most friendly and accommodating group I've worked with to date. My walker is always on time, happy to see my pup and very observant to my pups needs (e.g., water on hot days, jacket on cold days, etc.). They are also great about picking up extra walks when I am in a bind. To this end, if you are looking for a dependable, low maintenance dog walking company Union Square Dog Walker is an excellent choice. read more

I recently relocated to NYC and I was concerned about finding the right dog walker. I interviewed a few different companies, but Jesse at USDW really stood out. He listened carefully to all my concerns and was very reassuring. It was nice to know that I had found a company that cared so much for my dog. They have been exceptionally reliable and easily accessible. My dog walker shows up on time every day, and has made great efforts to meet my dog's needs. It's so nice to know that while I'm out, my dog is in such great hands. Additionally, my schedule changes very rapidly and there are times when I need to make changes at the last minute. Jesse and his team have been incredibly accommodating and their flexibility in scheduling is an outstanding quality. Like most dog owners, I only want the best for my pup and have very high standards. I am lucky to have found USDW. read more
