Tried to fire up an old computer to pull off some treasured family photos and - zap! - power supply blew. Contacted Ed at Union Square Computers via text and arranged to bring by the unit. I appreciated how quickly Ed assessed the situation and, rather than opting for an expensive motherboard & power supply replacement, offered instead to extract the photo data. Less than a week later, I had all the photos on a loaner drive and was able to transfer them to a functional computer with regular backups. The price was more than fair; the service was responsive; and the results were better than I had hoped. As a follow up project, Ed optimized my home network and it's working better than ever. I was looking for someone to diagnose a problem with my 8-year-old desktop PC that wasn't going to charge me more thanthe computer was worth. I am pretty good with computers and can usually figure things out on my own...this one I couldn't and I took it to Ed and Chuck. They diagnosed the problem for free and had it fixed by 10am the next day! I had taken it to them around 3pm the day before. It was $50 total. I gave them an extra $15 for the quick service. Best Buy wanted to charge me $90 just to look at it and tell me what's wrong with it. Then an extra hourly rate for the repair...I could have bought a new net book for that! Thanks to Chuck and Ed. I'll definitely be back...hopefully not soon :) They are experts with Macs too. Take your computer there today...odds are, it'll be done tomorrow. read more

I recently cracked the LCD on my Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2009 and found that Apple would replace it for around $400. I have done some minor repairs on my Mac in the past few years but this was out of my league. I found a replacement screen and took it up to Union Square Computers. Ed helped me out, he seemed extremely knowledgeable about both PCs and Macs. He replaced the screen for $40 and had it finished within an hour.
