I cannot adequately explain how amazing our wedding celebration was at Zilker Park Clubhouse!! I'm…read moreholding a star since we received an email saying we got our deposit back Aug 12th and I still haven't seen the funds in my account- but besides that issue it's definitely got a 5 star rating! We actually got married a month prior in MA, but needed to celebrate the occasion with all our friends who live here with us in TX. This event space was perfect for a party on a budget. The view- I mean, come ON, was just incredible, and the backdrop for everyone's photos! People could not stop talking about how phenomenal it was. The process of getting the place was a bit tricky, as I could not navigate their government website to select the date and missed the cut-off time before having to do the lottery. Luckily, not a lot of people were begging for dates in August as the venue does not have air conditioning- so the heat was a bit brutal (but that's Texas!)- but we got it no problem! I ended up calling and the person I spoke to was very helpful. Speaking of air conditioning- or lack-there-of- we ended up renting some swamp coolers (huge cooling fans that run off of ice- but a LOT of ice!!) to help with the heat. There are ceiling fans and a few industrial fans included- but those don't help too much in August! I had a hard time figuring out what exactly we needed- so I'm going to add a quick "plug" for Preferred Climate Solutions our of Hutto, TX. They worked ZPC before and knew how to set things up. Brett even had an extra swamp cooler from an earlier event he let us use. Moving on- because this place doesn't require use of specific vendors- it made it that much affordable. We hired Slab BBQ to cater and Pixster photo booth for fun. For drinks, we filled out the necessary paperwork (some cheap $10ish permit? I can't quite remember) and we're able to just bring in a few kegs and boxes of wine from PartyBarn. Everything went off without a hitch! Good to note- the place provides a bunch of tables. Two huge round ones, a few smaller round and rectangle ones, and some nice cocktail tables we used on the patio. (The cocktail tables and one rectangular were good enough condition to go without tablecloths- the rest require coverings.) For lighting- it was definitely important to us to get string lights on the patio. I realized last minute that getting a few hundred feet of lights was going to be trickier than I initially thought- since I had to consider ones that connected and could manage the power of 300 ft of lights. I used Americanpartylights.com- it worked out great! They included zip ties which is important since it's against the park rules to use tape (holds better anyways.) I found a great diagram of ZPC patio for the light arrangements and measurements (photo included.) It was a perfect celebration and I HIGHLY recommend this space for any event! It has such a cool vibe even without decorations, your set up can be minimal and still look amazing. Plus... that VIEW!

There are a variety of spots offered that both the ceremony and reception can be held. These options also translate well for many photo opportunities as well. The food was delicious! The only thing was the waitstaff cleared our table when we all stood up to greet the bride and groom when they came to the table. This made me sad because I didn't get to finish the meal. I would have appreciated if the waitstaff asked if we were finished eating - something that isn't unreasonable considering we were all standing near the table talking to the bride and groom. Other than that minor inconvenience, I found the planners executing the event to be kind, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Addison Grove is one of those wedding venues that makes you walk in and immediately think, *"Yep,…read morethis is it."* The Hill Country views are absolutely stunning--like, no filter needed, your photographer will be thrilled kind of stunning. Sunset here deserves its own round of applause. The space itself is gorgeous without trying too hard: modern, stylish, and surrounded by nature so your guests can sip cocktails while pretending they're in a lifestyle magazine. Whether you're saying "I do" or tearing up the dance floor later, every corner of Addison Grove just works. And let's talk about the staff--absolute pros. These people run weddings like a well-rehearsed Broadway show, but with way less drama. They're friendly, organized, and somehow manage to make everything look effortless while keeping couples calm and happy (a true superpower). Bottom line: Addison Grove delivers incredible views, top-notch service, and a wedding day that feels smooth, fun, and unforgettable. The venue, has nested itself in the heart of Spicewood just down from the Post Office and Krause Springs. I say "nested" because it feels as if they'd need decades create the cozy nostalgic sense you get even as it comes into view from turning the corner in your car ... and even more so once inside and processing the endless vintage/retro decorations that, i believe, make up the bones of this place. It's an atmosphere that, quite honestly, could be used for a movie set in the 1940's or 50's! Everywhere you look and sit. That Joint in Spicewood, as an event venue, is perfect for birthdays, anniversary parties, weddings and even bachelor / bachelorette parties. The night i went they offered a singer/songwriter experience welcome to all that may want to listen or even partake in the music making themselves. It took time to process who was family or patrons, like me... only to find out we were all mostly strangers and had just got along so well with the vibe they set that it all felt like somehow half should be family. A strange welcoming vibe I don't experience often. I like it. Fact is, That Joint... feels open and welcoming on any day, actually. I've passed by on my bike many times just to look at all the cool stuff and have even walked up and poked around out of curiosity only to be greeted by the owners. Great people and great venue for darts, shuffleboard or a step back to your childhood with all the things to look at. Give it a visit! Planned or unplanned. It's the most welcoming place I've been to since moving to Spicewood.

The art is surrounded by a tree grove and a lovely oval path, it is next to an on-leash dog park and the Pfluger pedestrian bridge providing access to Lady Bird lake . There is space for nearby games and competitions. One reviewer complained about lack of access to water fountains and restrooms. My suggestions ? Luke's locker , black dog and trader joes all have dog water bowls out, sometimes they also have water coolers for people, You could purchase water at black dog (across the street) or trader joes (in the nearby Austin power plant in 3rd st). There is a public bathroom at trader joes. While there is a lot of construction along lady bird lake, they do have several port-a-potties lined up across Cesar Chavez . I'm not sure how long those will be there . Enjoy! This is another beautiful community asset . Thank you Austin. Thank you to artists Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt.

The treehouse itself was amazing and it was a dream come true for us as we have both wanted to stay in a treehouse since we were kids! I mean who doesn't have a childhood dream of staying in a treehouse but there's not many opportunities to do so growing up in a city. We had a relaxing 2 days here where we enjoyed the soaking tub, read in the reading nook, laid out on Big Joe, had our morning tea and coffee outside in nature, bird watching and so much more! It was so quiet and its truly just a time for you to connect with nature. The treehouse itself is beautiful, modern and the layout and design is truly thought out to immerse you in nature. You are surrounding by trees whichever glass window you look at. It is so quiet, you feel suspended in the trees! My favorite part of the treehouse which I had figured out the moment I was leaving was that everything you pour into the kitchen sink...goes right to the floor 30 feet down. Water gets poured back into nature below! My hubby was pouring out the tea I did not finish and I just so happened to be standing outside the front door with our luggage when I heard loud water being splashed. I peaked down and saw the tea go straight down. That was the coolest! I had booked this trip way before COVID and due to the pandemic, the zip lining tour was cancelled. But, it's ok as we still had a fantastic time staying here! The price for the Yoki per night is very expensive and I would recommend for the owners to at least provide breakfast every morning. A hand delivered breakfast would be a very nice touch. Shout out to Shelby for keeping me in the loop the whole time and when I needed shower gel & Kleenex she arranged for it to happen. Keep in mind this is nature and there are bugs/insects everywhere. The restroom is a place were they like to hide. We saw spiders, scorpions, grasshopper, centipedes, wasps in there. FYI- there is no body lotion or hair dryer in case those things are important to you, please bring those! Otherwise everything else that a hotel normally has, is provided. We had such a great time and my hubby is so happy and surprised that I booked such a beautiful place to share with him!
