Great service and selection is amazing. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable about the products and processes.

I don't drink coffee, so I suppose my opinion about coffee places is a bit under-seasoned, but Union Place seems like a good one. Super high ceilings, local art on the walls, comfortable seats, and friendly folks behind the counter. While I don't drink coffee, I was purchasing nine pounds of coffee (it's a stocking stuffer in our family) for other people. It seems like Union Place typically has an excellent and varied selection of different beans, but it was too close to Christmas and they were running low on it all. My friend came out from behind the counter, and helped my navigate what was still available. I got a lot of beans, they ground them for me for the right filters (while I sat in a very comfortable chair), and I was out of there. If you actually drink coffee, I bet you'll like this place even better than I do. read more

Good coffee. Both the NY Maple and Salted Caramel were enjoyable down to the last drop. But it was the pumpkin muffin we kept praising. Next level when it comes to their muffin game. read more

I am in Rochester just for a couple of days. I was desperate to find a chai latte and Union Place Coffee Roasters was very close to where I am staying. I was really pleasantly surprised to find that it was a cute little shop, because the buildings around it did not encourage me as I was driving there. Unfortunately, my chai latte with oat milk was not impressive at all. It was really just a hot chai tea with some oat milk added to it. read more

I had such a nice experience here, it's a small place with a couple of tables and a section to the side with beans, tea, and products. I did not get any on this visit but they have some really fun flavor options! The best part of my visit was the excellent service. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. After sitting for a while, you could tell that many of the customers (both for the cafe and store) were regulars. During my visit there was a local artist showcase and event fliers for some of the local community organizations. Would recommend for anyone looking for a high quality, local Roastery. read more

Union Place Coffee Roasters - Coffee Bar (also had many seasonal options) - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - Rochester, New York

I had such a wonderful experience yesterday at Union Place. I went in looking to quickly grab some beans in between other errands. While scanning through the options, I was approached by a woman who patiently explained how their beans are organized (lightest roast to darkest) and highlighted some of the more interesting roasts and blends. She told me about a special single origin project they had worked on and -- in a move that really won me over -- brought me over a sample of one of the roasts I was considering. The woman at the cashier was also super nice and excited to see that I had chosen one of her favorites. I left Union Place feeling uncharacteristically enthusiastic about my purchase and generally just overcome with a feeling of gratitude that such places exist in Rochester. Where else do you find a local roaster with friendly staff who has direct relationships with coffee growers, a wide range of coffees, and ample parking next to a dispensary and a gluten free bakery? read more

Great products-- ok amazing products. The coffee beans are delicious and the coffee, tea, chai in store is great. And... I must mention the staff is fantastic. Most of my visits I have been served by Nick- fantastic customer service! Get coffee from no other roaster! (Another pitch for the chai latte- hot or cold!!) read more

Delicious coffee! Some indoor seating, not the best place to work, though there are some tables and seats. Snacks include muffins. I bought a bag of roasted beans and got a free cup of coffee with it! read more

Great coffee, super friendly service. I wish they had an espresso machine for a more expanded menu, but my cold brew was awesome. I think they'll do great as they expand. read more

Excellent food, drink, and service! The environment is welcoming with plenty of seating arrangements.

5 star coffee. The Cypress Lucky Mutt drip is a medium roast with a smooth soft taste. I usually go light roast but this medium one is smooth. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, and comfy seats. If you plan to connect here the only Wi-Fi is through a Spectrum account. read more

Union Place Coffee Roasters - Coffee beans stacked by the roaster. - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - Rochester, New York

Great coffee. Love the Jazzy Java & th espresso blend is far superior to any I've ever had

We just had a terrific coffee (and tea) at this lovely spot, tucked away in a food wholesale market. Its a warm, high-ceilinged space, that has both their retail and their roastery. I had a really nice dark roasted coffee that was just to my liking, as that type of roast can sometimes be more "burnt" than dark. This had a good full body but none of the bitter aftertaste that some dark roasts can have. My wife enjoyed a very good English Breakfast tea and after we finished, we purused their coffee making equipment, beans and other spices. The young lady that took care of us was knowledgable, very helpful and was happy to recommend what proved to be great choices. A great spot and would highly recommend it! read more

I absolutely loved stopping in here before Christmas! We stocked up on a bunch of different beans and had them freshly ground for drip coffee and French press. I couldn't believe how many options there were. There are also a few chairs and small tables if you want to sit and have a coffee while you're there. This is the perfect spot for all your fresh ground coffee needs. read more

Union Place Coffee Roasters - two coffee roasters - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - Rochester, New York

I have known Laurie for a number of years, even before she opened Union Place and was working at another large coffee roaster. She has built her business on kindness and generosity. A cup of fresh coffee on the house to thank you for your purchase? Yes please! She now has such a great new space, and some wonderful partnerships throughout the community. Union Place is a great asset, with a great product. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

I love everything about this place! The beans are fresh and the prices are reasonable. I like that they offer a low/soft acid coffee option. This is the only place I purchase all my coffee, I live about 30 miles away so it's a destination worth the trip. The coffee is always fresh and tasty, they will grind it to order. All the employees and the owner are always very helpful and friendly. The selection of different types and flavors of coffee is great. If you want a quick cup of coffee and a dessert there is a small section to sit and enjoy a freshly roasted cup. read more

We have been coming to Union Place Coffee Roasters for approximately three years. First of all let me Express that we are coffee snobs, and this establishment checks all of the boxes for excellence. The coffee is phenomenal, there is so much love poured into every single Coffee Bean. The owner Laurie, is one of the nicest people you would ever meet. Even though we are going through this temporary pandemic, the quality of the Coffee, and the customer service has been top notch. We would drive through a Rochester snow storm to get our coffee here, only because nothing compares to the quality, and the service that we have received at union coffee roasters. We highly recommend that you check this place out you will not be disappointed. Hands down the finest Coffee roasters in Rochester! read more

My absolute favorite place to get coffee! Love the seasonal flavors. Send all the flavored coffees to my family in Michigan and Texas and they agree it is the best Laurie is wonderful too! read more

I buy my coffee here exclusively. I stumbled upon this place as it's sort of hidden off two major roads in Henrietta. I get the 'butter caramel' beans and grind them fresh daily; I brew with a French press. There really is no better flavored bean in the area. It's perfect- it's not over powering and not artificial tasting. I find I don't need to add anything to my coffee and the number of comments I get daily about 'how amazing my coffee smells' is a true testament of this stuff!!! read more

Freshly roasted coffee at an affordable price. I got the columbian beans, and they are absolutely delicious. Full bodied, sweet, tangy, with also a full body of crema when going through the espresso machine. So glad I found this place on yelp. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fresh coffee beans. read more

+ Freshly roasted high quality beans + Lowest prices in the area by far + No coffee snob attitude / atmosphere I have been buying all my coffee at Union Place Coffee Roasters for several months now and I'm very satisfied with their product. At this point I couldn't imagine buying from anyone else. They sell high quality freshly-roasted beans at an incredibly low price. I get the same quality and freshness as I would at the way more expensive and trendy places without feeling as uncool and out of place around the tattooed and mustachioed hipsters who work and shop at those places. They people at Union Place are great. Real life example: sometime in the winter I came in with my two young kids (infant and three years old). While buying coffee and chatting with Laurie, the owner, I must have dropped my three-year-old's mittens and I left without realizing it. Laurie found them and saved them, jotting my kids' names down on a post-it note she stuck to the mittens. Months later I happened to come in again with both kids and hearing me say their names jogged Laurie's memory - she went in back and came out with the missing mittens. This place is a gem. read more

Good coffee beans for a good price! Fresh and nice ppl who work there always offered me to taste their hand brew.

When our company was reviewing all non-essential costs for our 50 employee optical company, one of those costs was outside coffee service. We had been struggling to get better tasting coffee but all the coffee we tried was not very good and the one or two we enjoyed were very expensive. We needed an alternative. That alternative turned out to be the Maidstone brand coffee from Union Place Coffee Roasters. The coffee is freshly roasted locally, the cost structure was great, saving us over $2000 per year, and our employees love the taste. We simply purchased a Bunn Coffee maker on-line, and creamer, sugar, and filters from local wholesale stores, and we had everything we needed. With the choice of having Union Place Coffee for your employees, I do not know why anyone would use anything different!" Charles R. Navitar, Inc. read more
