First time trying Hot Suppa in Portland and it definitely lived up to the hype. I ordered the whole…read morepork egg sandwich (without the egg) and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked pork with great flavor in every bite. I also tried a bite of the biscuits and gravy at the table and they were rich, comforting, and seriously tasty. The drinks were just as impressive. The espresso martini was perfectly balanced, and even the mocktail was refreshing and well made. And our waitress was the sweetest (and honestly the prettiest!). She was so warm and friendly that I'd come back just to chat with her again. Great service, great food, great experience overall. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Portland.

When we finally came during the off season, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity since wait times were shorter. The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 15-20 minutes. I will say - I had high hopes for Hot Suppa. Between my fiance and I, we ordered the waffle, side of corned beef hash, and the fried green tomatoes eggs benny. The corned beef hash here is excellent - that I do have to acknowledge. I was a bit underwhelmed by the fried green tomatoes though. The tomatoes were just okay, but the excessive hollandaise sauce really just made the whole dish waaay too heavy. It was also just messy. Service was slow & our waitress tended to disappear for long periods of time. Coffee & water refills both took a long time. Parking here is difficult but not impossible. Most spots are only for an hour or so.

Can be busy at times, especially on the weekend, but weekdays and outside of lunch hour, you should be able to get a table right away. I had the Dutch Baby and it was almost too pretty to eat, but I dug in after admiring the piece of art that it was. I loved the combination of flavors and textures - brie, mushrooms, egg, jam, greens, chewy Dutch baby, crispy bits. Yum!

Which based on everything we had I completely understand why, this place makes incredible food and drinks. Overall it has a great inviting feeling to the space. To start off I enjoyed a Morning Bun Latte while my wife got the Honey & Juniper Latte. Both came out perfect temperature with well done latte art and delicious taste. My wife was obsessed with their pottery mugs that the lattes came served in. Food wise we were looking to split everything and it worked perfectly. We ended up choosing French Toast, Soft Scrambled Eggs, and the Fried Potatoes side. Every dish would be an absolute no brainer for us to order again. Every bite of food kept us wanting even more. Lastly we grabbed a chocolate croissant to go and that was just as tasty and enjoyed it after our visit. After this visit it is certainly a new favorite spot of ours, and look forward to coming back! Worth your time visiting!

I was really intrigued by the rye and caraway muffin, and I love a good pastrami. Unfortunately, the thin pastrami was a bit chewy. If there is a meat spectrum that ranges from jerky to moist and tender (such as Sam LaGrassa's), it was too close to jerky. With plenty of butter and melted cheese, it was pretty greasy, though the flavor was enjoyable. I was happy to try it, and my wife really enjoyed the complex Como Se Dice Buon Giorno, with prosciutto, hash brown, banana peppers, etc. Next time, I'd probably grab a package of their English Muffins to bring home and create my own egg sandwich, but it's a quaint neighborhood spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

However, the service was pretty rough and that definitely soured the whole experience for us. We came in around brunch time on the day after Halloween. The hostess invited us to seat ourselves at the bar. It took a while to get menus... then took a while to get water... then took even longer for someone to take our drink order. When they did, they were of what we tried to order - the menu that we were given was out of date. So we pivoted and ordered different drinks... which took a while to arrive. After we placed our food order, things took a lonnnnggg time to come out. It looked like they were jamming with to-go orders, so that much I can appreciate. But that 40+ minute ticket time can suck either way. And when we did finish our meal, it was like pulling teeth trying to get our check. The loaded breakfast tots and english muffin pizzas were very tasty. We took an oreo cream puff home to enjoy later and it was soooo good. So I really can't knock the food or drinks. But the servers/bartenders were totally checked out and it showed. It could have been an off day (hungover from Halloween maybe?) The menu was pretty torn up and dirty as well and had not been updated to the current offerings. I've heard such good things about Ugly Duckling so I'm hoping it gets some TLC to bring it back up to standard.
