Dr. Femino showed me on the xray where arthritis had formed and assured me the knee pain was in no way related to the spinal surgery. Nothing could have stressed me out more when it was diagnosed that I needed surgery to repair a torn labrum, remove a cyst and clean out some calcium deposits. Working with Dr. Jason Garcia and his staff at Summit Health made this process as smooth as possible. Starting from working with their surgical coordinator, to ensure all the required paperwork and tests were complete, to the Surgery Center they use, which is clean and makes the pickup process smooth. You want someone like Dr. Garcia performing surgery. He is a rock star. For me, his confidence made me feel that this was the right choice. The surgery could not have gone better. I was able to start PT 9 days after my surgery. My therapists almost didn't believe I had shoulder surgery because of my range of motion. I've already been to the golf range, have been doing all the yardwork and got a bunch of painting done. I have no pain and it's only been 7 months. I've been using (Kinesiology) K-Tape for over a year but it was starting to wear on my skin & it was not even working in the end so it was time to see a doctor. I researched at least 10 Orthopaedic surgeons in my area on Health-grades, Google, Yelp and other sites. Dr Garcia had the best reviews & back in 2008 my mom broke both ankles and Dr Garcia treated her so I decided to call his office. Lea made an appointment for me and she was so kind, got me in ASAP after explain the pain is traveling down my leg. They text me instructions the morning of my appointment on what to do when I arrived. I got there a few minutes early- texted: ARRIVED and they text me back within minutes telling me to come in. The office was spotless, I checked in and within five minutes I was brought into an exam room. After the very sweet nurse took my info- Leo came in and took me for X-rays. He was such a pleasant guy and we had a nice chat. I must say the staff is amazing and everyone was so kind. After the X-rays, Dr Garcia and his physician assistant came in, we talked, he examined my knees and he decided to start out with cortisone in each knee-- that wasn't fun BUT when I went to bed last night it was the first time in over a year my knees weren't bothering me then when I woke up, after sleeping straight through the night-I couldn't believe it, I kept touching the bone that sent shockwaves through my body the day before and the pain was gone. Dr Garcia was so kind and gentle, his personality is friendly not like some doctors who have no bedside manner with patients. No wonder his review ratings are excellent. I am so glad I chose this practice & Dr Garcia and it turns out they are a part of Summit Medical Group. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr Jason Garcia to all and any of my friends and family. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. And they have valet parking too! Later on I developed plantar fasciitis, that was painful. He tried everything and refused to give up and do surgery, finally a technician that came in so often did some kind of ultrasound on it, I forget what the timeline he said I would feel better, but damn he was right on the money, never had a problem since. There is an apparent disconnect between the doctors and patient expectations with the staff. I would suggest the doctors; but go to a different office. The experience I had with the Union office was the best ever. The experience I had with the Linden office was the worst. The office staff is not honest; nor do they care (except for the surgical coordinators - they are great). Once again - doctors yes - Linden office - not if you want to be frustrated, aggravated, or deceived.

Made a 1:40 appointment here for persistent runner's knee. The nurse called me in right at 1:40…read more The x-rays of my knees were done by 2:00. At one point, one nurse came in and asked me to move from the examining table to the chair to be more comfortable while waiting. Supposedly this was at the request of Dr. Mendes. Cool. At another point, a second nurse came in and told me the doctor was running a little behind with other patients and asked if I had anywhere to be. Not sure it would have mattered if I did, but it was still nice of her to ask. Dr. Mendes spent about 5-10 minutes with me and ultimately prescribed me an MRI, which is the outcome I was expecting. Because of the subtlety of my injury, he explained he wasn't really able to diagnose me in the absence of those results. Overall, the staff was courteous, professional, and prompt. My only complaint is that Dr. Mendes acknowledged that his associate, Dr. Chase, was who I should have seen in the first place. Chase specializes in sports and I did specify with the secretary when I made my appointment that I was coming in for a sports-related injury. No Mendes's fault, but still kind of annoying.

On Feb 13th, 2023 I had a total knee replacement (TKR). Prior to the surgery I researched where to…read morego for PT. I was referred to Rob Rob O'Connell at Summit Physical Therapy, by both other medical professionals and several friends. I started two weeks post surgery and and have made a lot of progress. Recovery from TKR is difficult, but going to Summit PT twice a week has given me both confidence and comfort that I'm progressing and eventually will be back to myself - an active 68 year old. I've been a health professional for 40 years and have had physical therapy for various orthopedic and sports conditions, and by far Summit PT is the best. The center is bright, welcoming and immaculate. When I'm there, I see not only how Rob works with me, but how the other therapists work with their patients as well: they are hands on, attentive and 100 % engaged with the people they are helping.
