Starting from working with their surgical coordinator, to ensure all the required paperwork and tests were complete, to the Surgery Center they use, which is clean and makes the pickup process smooth. You want someone like Dr. Garcia performing surgery. He is a rock star. For me, his confidence made me feel that this was the right choice. The surgery could not have gone better. I was able to start PT 9 days after my surgery. My therapists almost didn't believe I had shoulder surgery because of my range of motion. I researched at least 10 Orthopaedic surgeons in my area on Health-grades, Google, Yelp and other sites. Dr Garcia had the best reviews & back in 2008 my mom broke both ankles and Dr Garcia treated her so I decided to call his office. Lea made an appointment for me and she was so kind, got me in ASAP after explain the pain is traveling down my leg. They text me instructions the morning of my appointment on what to do when I arrived. I got there a few minutes early- texted: ARRIVED and they text me back within minutes telling me to come in. The office was spotless, I checked in and within five minutes I was brought into an exam room. After the very sweet nurse took my info- Leo came in and took me for X-rays. He was such a pleasant guy and we had a nice chat. I must say the staff is amazing and everyone was so kind. After the X-rays, Dr Garcia and his physician assistant came in, we talked, he examined my knees and he decided to start out with cortisone in each knee-- that wasn't fun BUT when I went to bed last night it was the first time in over a year my knees weren't bothering me then when I woke up, after sleeping straight through the night-I couldn't believe it, I kept touching the bone that sent shockwaves through my body the day before and the pain was gone. Dr Garcia was so kind and gentle, his personality is friendly not like some doctors who have no bedside manner with patients. No wonder his review ratings are excellent. I am so glad I chose this practice & Dr Garcia and it turns out they are a part of Summit Medical Group. No more excruciating gallbladder attacks! In a way this is the most legit yelp review I've ever written because I don't know what exactly goes on in the kitchens of the restaurants I go to. With Dr. Feteiha however, I am lucky in that I definitely had the inside scoop. I work in healthcare and actually chose Dr. Feteiha based on extensive 1st hand experience observing him. Once I found my surgeon, he told me he would perform it at either Mount Sinai (NYC) or Livingston Surgery Center (NJ). So of course I had to Yelp the hospital/medical centers they were located in to cross check the feedback others had had. Listen, if you're going to cut me up like Picasso, it needs to be performed in a highly reviewed, credible medical establishment. So after cross checking a Livingston Surgery Center, my decision was made. Thanks Yelp! The deets (if you care to read my huge novel): My surgery was scheduled for 7am and because my surgeon was in an emergency case until 12pm, they were going to possibly reschedule my surgery for another day. Super inconvenient because of time off work and scheduling but hey, emergencies happen and it's no ones fault! But omg, the anesthesiologist (Dr Chang?) and the super super sweet Italian nurse with the 16 year old son (named Colin?) were so gracious and wonderful. Especially my OR nurse that I just mentioned. She stayed SIX HOURS after her shift ended just to stay with me because she knew she made me feel safe and comfortable. Brings tears to my eyes. We need more nurses like her. And I hope they appreciate her there. She has the biggest smile ever, is so compassionate, kept bringing me new warm blankets, chatting with me to keep me from 6 hours of boredom in a bed, and was like a second Mother to me that day. We could not make that time. We called them back and left a VM telling them that and kept our regular appointment. We show up for the appointment and denied services due to my wife not quarantining prior to the appointment. She was never told to nor is it anywhere in their patient literature. In short, 2 lost working days and the discomfort of prepping for the procedure for nothing. They had no intention of performing this procedure and looked for every way out of it from the beginning. We have filed complaints with the state already and will be pursuing litigation for lost wages and expenses related to their complete incompetence and lack of patient care.

In 2008, age 51, I had inguinal hernia surgery on my left side with the traditional open method…read more It was performed using local anesthesia, so the operation was easier however the recovery took a long time. Fast forward to 2025, age 67. I need my right side repaired. I found Dr. Dupree who is skilled at robotic surgery. It's comforting to hear the words from the surgeon "I can take care of this". The entire procedure was more complex as it required general anesthesia, however, the recovery time was much faster (and I'm much older). What I like about Dr. Dupree is his confidence and experience. No need to go to a specialized hospital in a big city. Riverview Medical Center is small and accessible.
