I am a 53 year old man that is over 200lbs. I tripped and fell on both knees a few years ago. I went to the dr and got X-rays and it was determined that there was no bone damage. I had severe pain on both knees and walked with a limp. I thought I needed time to heal so I just put up with the pain. Two years went by until I finally decided to come and see Sam at Atlas Physical Therapy. He explained that my knees gave out because of my weight and years of being out of alignment, like a car that needs a wheel alignment. He suggested orthotics. I was skeptical at first because I needed help with the pain in my knees not my feet but I decided to try it out. I started wearing the orthotics every day and going to see Sam for therapy. The state of the art equipment that Sam had was impressive along with the exercise equipment. He used a non-invasive laser, ultrasound and electrical stimulation to the knee. He also loosened up the soft tissues around the knee by hand. After two months I was starting to feel better. I kept going to therapy until my limp went away and no more pain. Last month I walked all over Manhattan sightseeing with my wife and the orthotics with no pain in my knees. The therapy and the orthotics worked!!!! Thank you Sam and Mary and Shakina. I have you Sam as my physical therapist for the last 10 years . I have had only excellent results with Sam for the last 10 years. for myself and my daughter he is extremely knowledgeable and he shares his information explains to you not only what he is doing but why it's important . Unlike other places he manually works on you and doesn't just give you a bunch of exercises to go do yourself. Well there are exercises there's also guidance provided on the best way to do them and also instructions given to take home. He knows how to prepare your injuries for him to work on the best and will apply heat or cold and he himself provides the actual muscle therapy with expert hands and an amazing heart. Knowledgeable and well trained. You can't find a better physical therapist! Not only that this is the only physical therapist I've ever gone to who actually heals my injury where I don't need to come back again. I have seen him for a wrist, and ankle, and back my daughter for her ankle when she broke it . Also after a car accident when my entire back and neck froze and could not move. I'm 100% now and I've been able to resume all of my activities. Every single one of my other injuries has fully healed. I have been so fortunate, better yet blessed to be a patient at Atlas Physical Therapy. Dr. Sam and his staff are beyond exceptional. Dr. Sam is very knowledgeable, personable and a passionate PT. I was referred to Dr. Sam by my Physiatrist office in March, for my severe LBP. My back pain was so severe, that I was unable to walk, much difficulty with my ADLs, and problematic lifting my hands upwards without severe pain. The only relief was sitting. Dr. Sam immediately evaluated my problem, I started PT and I am in disbelief with how quickly my pain resolved. I was able to walk several blocks with my family in NYC, without any pain at the time and no pain the following days. Although, I still occasionally have LBP, the pain is with less frequency and severity, and can definitely be attributed to Dr. Sam's hands-on approach and his 34+ years of experience. If you have shoulder pain, don't lose hope. I came to Atlas with a severely limited shoulder mobility, a frozen shoulder. It didn't hurt at rest but if I moved it too fast there would be pain and I couldn't move it at all in some directions. Before coming to Atlas I tried the PRP therapy at another place that was costly and it did nothing. At Atlas Sam promised that he could help me restore movement in my shoulder in about 5 months. AND HE DID! The place is not fancy but the methods are proven and my shoulder is working again!!! Now, it's true that you'll have to do the work. I went about two times a week for 4-5 months and did my work at home too. It's not a miracle just no substitute for working on it and making gains slowly but surely. Do not give up. Try Atlas before you go getting needles and going under the knife. And stick to it for a few months. It WILL work. read more

Before I came to see Atlas Physical Therapy, I had spent three years suffering from a neck injury that happened unexpectedly during the birth of my daughter. I had severe headaches that lasted more than half of every month and my body was sooooo sensitive to even the slightest of activities. Often something simple, like taking my daughter on a walk around the block would leave me in such a severe pain that I would throw up. Before coming to Atlas, I had already completed 12 visits of physical therapy at another facility which only made my pain worse. However, in my first visit with Sam, my headache was relieved. I went to Atlas, I was experiencing pain in my lower back and numbness in my right leg, Sam administered the therapy himself on a one-on-one basis. Some sessions last nearly two hours. I thought the pain was also part of a pulled hamstring muscle, Dr. Sam informed me of the real cause of the problem and explained how my posture and body mechanics play a role in my back issues. Overall, it has been a great experience and Atlas Physical Therapy will be the place I turn to if ever in need again. I started my PT on 3/22/2016 after referral from the doctor. I had a pinched nerve in my cervical area and was in constant discomfort with pain radiating from my neck down my left arm. I could not function normally. After a few visits, I began to feel better and by my final (12th) visit, I was closer to normal. I followed up with the doctor and was referred for 12 more sessions. I am now happy to report that I am completely better. I feared surgery but I have to say, PT is the solution. Sam and the staff, Florence, Laura, Mary and Viktoriya are the best. Sam and his staff are great. I had 2 herniated discs s1 and L5 my legs and feet were numb, my back in pain. I could barely walk. I tried chiropractic therapy, I took an epidural shot both did not help so someone recommended me to Atlas and I gave it a shot because I was scared of surgery and didn't believe in it. The pain started in July of 2018 and got worse and worse so I ended up at Atlas in April. After working with Sam and doing what he told me.
