Good coffee. Fast service. And good vibes. Thank you but the only thing I recommend is to put a little less sugar

They actually do an ok job sometimes (don't get the croissants though. Raw in the middle). It's just that the service can be so distracted it feels like you're interrupting them when you go to the counter to order. And your food might show up all at once, or more likely whenever they get around to it. They may or may not forget your order while gossiping or arguing. They might over steam the milk in your latte. The soup might not show up with your sandwich. Your mocha might not be stirred, leaving all the chocolate in the bottom. And so on. But if you listen closely you'll know who is dating who and what they think of having to work shifts they don't want... Maturity, focus and attentive management would turn this cute concept into a shop to patronize. As it stands, we avoid it because we just don't need the frustration. There's nothing here that isn't being done better elsewhere. Nice idea, gen-z execution. Not recommended at this time.

Yummy! I first…read morestopped here in September 2024. I decided to go back because I was in stanwood for an errand and I was craving a good brew and some food. When I entered, I was immediately greeted with a smile and a welcome, which felt good. I drove an hour to get there and it just set the tone right away. I was low-key impressed and thankful to have a friendly bartender, as the last time I went (2 yrs. Ago) I felt the service wasn't the best. This was a different bartender. I asked about their brews and was informed they'd switched a bit. So, I ordered the Hazy and the Blonde, both of which are brewed in-house by SAAL. They were. both great. Good body on the IPA and almost no bitterness. The blonde was good too, although blondes aren't my typical go-to personally, so maybe I'm not the best judge of that. The owner came and spoke with me for a minute about their business and how 2020 had inspired them to brew the Hazy. I think it's called "All Love" or something similar, and it had something to do with the riots of 2020 and how we needed more love in the world. I dunno, felt inspired. It was a good conversation and I felt that the owner is passionate about what he does. Which I really liked. A business I want to support. The poutine I ordered was good but not great. I don't usually order poutine so I had low expectations but it just feels like it's just in the menu for the sake of being on the menu. Nothing felt inspired or original and this dish would benefit greatly from a little recipe switch up. Maybe use a better gravy and crispier fries? It could be great. This didn't detract from the experience for me, as like I said, I had no expectations from the food. I just wanted something to stave off the hunger until I got home.

Outdoor seating in warm weather, trivia on Mondays, great local flavor and a salubrious vibe. Standouts include their "adult" grilled cheese with apple and a delicious tomato bisque, and the Zombie appetizer: a monster mound of tots with Mac & cheese, chili, and bacon...my goodness. My fave beers so far are the Three Sided Coin, a light-bodied mild rye bitter that is super food-friendly, and A Point In Time, their medium-bodied earthy oatmeal stout. A must try if you're in the area. A lot of pride in product here. Highly recommended!

I would expect half pounders with a name like that. ($60 will get you the Mammouth 1 lb Burger with a pound of fries) I upgraded to the garlic fries. They were plentiful, Lots of garlic, but oversalted--so much so, I left half of them uneaten. That, and because the ketchup was tainted, made me lose my appetite. Solve those two and they would have been delicious. I spoke with the waitress first, She wasn't very receptive. Later I asked to speak to the manager because I really would like to see this be a great restaurant there in Stanwood. Sadly, he wasn't there, and she told me they wouldn't consider changing it even if he was. Good things: nice ambiance. Great small town location. The service wasn't bad. Five months ago, on a Saturday or Sunday, my boyfriend and I had lunch at The Baked Cafe. The burgers were good, the buns were mediocre, and the fries were outstanding. The meal was over $40, without drinks. The owner was the only person working. After reading other reviews, we expected a wait, but over a half hour was excessive. There are only two booths, and we were lucky to get one. Because of this, you may end up taking your food to go or eating outside. I left a honest review after our experience, and the owner responded (more like reacted) quite unprofessionally. He mentioned Wednesdays; we were not there on a Wednesday. He mentioned that if we prefer "nutty" (it's Nutty's) or "five guy" (it's Five Guys), that he "felt sorry" for us. Well, I won't feel sorry for him when his business fails.

I came for the food -- in my case a Reuben sandwich stuffed to the gills -- and coleslaw, though obviously most people choose fries in one of the available variants. Both the sauce on the sandwich and the slaw had a kick to them - a hint of heat that added to the whole. The food was promised for 15-minutes, but took less than 10 -- I like it when promises are kept or even exceeded. The pub had three distinct seating areas: outside in the courtyard, outside under a deck (sheltered, with transparent vinyl sheeting to block the wind, and inside. This is a place where you order and pay at the bar, then find yourself a seat. It's not fancy, it's not upscale, but it's solid with good food and brews. The service was friendly and competent, but young and a touch overly enthusiastic (I'm not fond of being repeatedly called "my man" - not so much because it's excessively familiar - which it is, but because the enthusiastic repetition of the phrase at every chance is a bit forced and formulaic).
