I have dealt with many contractors and some of them I truly believe worked for someone else and thought they could do the same level of work but didn't. Joe and CCS were true professionals. I had an advocate making sure everything was right. I refer them and plan on using them again.

E.S. Johnson Builders performed a major renovation to our home in the Peninsula (Cornelius NC) over…read morean approximate six-month period in 2019. Nearly every construction trade was represented in the remodel. The job was not a minor update; it was essentially a total interior makeover with structural updates and full rebuilds of the kitchen and master bath and rotunda room. No room went untouched. Mr. Johnson was involved on a day-to-day level along with the Construction Project Manager, Mr. West and Project Design Manager, Ms. Williams, both of whom were key success factors in helping to keep the project moving in the right direction on a daily basis. As for Mr. Johnson, he was always accessible and was fully engaged during construction. He met with us several times along the way to manage budget, review schedule, finalize details, address change orders and otherwise help us take our home dreams from concept to reality. As with every construction project, there were a few glitches along the way that required revisions and changes, but they were all handled professionally, equitably and fairly. In my opinion, this is what separates the good builders from the great ones. Bottom line: the project exceeded our expectations and so did E.S. Johnson Builders. We were beyond pleased with the outcome and would work with him and his "Dream Team" again without a second thought. Because of Mr. Johnson, Mr. West and Ms. Williams and their talented teams of contractors, we have a home that went started out at "good" and finished up at "EPIC!" Thanks, ESJ!

My husband and I built a custom home with E.S. Johnson Builders in 2015. The experience was…read moredevastating both financially and emotionally for our family. During construction, we raised some concerns related to a variety of serious design flaws and poorly installed products. The majority of these issues were not addressed, the builder denied requests to meet to discuss and he locked us out of our home. We never received a move-in date, even after waiting two weeks after the Certificate of Occupancy had been issued. Eventually, we had to hire a locksmith and break into our own home. E.S. Johnson Builders then sued us for payment for work they never completed. We spent a full year and an incredible amount of money for legal representation to defend ourselves in arbitration. In the end, we won back the money to complete the unfinished and faulty work in our home, but there is no reimbursement for the pain, the hundreds of hours lost and the legal fees we incurred. We DO NOT recommend this builder.

Communication was always clear, and the crew showed up exactly when they said they would. They were punctual, respectful of the property, and kept the work area very tidy throughout the project. The quality of the work was excellent, and the efficiency of the crew was impressive. What really stood out was the cleanup after the job was completed--it was incredibly thorough and left the property looking great. It's clear they take pride in their work. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend Advanced Roofing solutions to anyone looking for a reliable and professional roofing company.

Jackson Construction built my son's house. A construction loan, based on the company's estimate,…read morewas obtained from a local bank. Construction loan funds are disbursed based on the percentage of completion of various tasks. This builder's contract was an "estimate", which meant that regardless of how badly the cost was estimated, the "estimate" number was irrelevant and immaterial. Whenever he wanted a payment he just sent a bill and wanted payment within a certain number of days. So there was no real concern about the customer or the funding of the process. The dwelling ended up costing about 40% higher than the "estimate", was about 6 months later than the initially indicated date, and getting everything finished was a tedious, laborious, irritating endeavor. If you don't want to make a decision that will irritate you for the life of your mortgage, I suggest you look elsewhere for a builder.

A representative came out with an architect to discuss our project. They left after a short while, with the promise that the next step was to be the architect contacting us with some sketches. Never heard back from either the architect or NCA Carolinas. Our next door neighbor also had NCA Carolinas come out for their project, and the same thing - they never heard back from them again. All we can assume is that our home additions were not large enough project for NCA Carolinas to be bothered with. The fact that we never heard back from them speaks volumes about their service. As such, I can not recommend NCA Carolinas for any project.
