Charlotte Pro Roofing - Roofing Contractors near me

Called to get an estimate. They sent a guy out who was very friendly to take a look, and he said…read morehe'd follow up with us that later that day with the quote. Things went downhill fast from there. We spent 3 weeks trying to get in touch with them just to get the estimate. After nearly a dozen phone calls with their extremely unhelpful and useless receptionist, Laura, who appears to hate her job and never followed up as promised, they finally sent an estimate. Of course the estimate was more than $2000 more than what the guy told us in person it would be when he came out. If they are this bad before they've even taken money for services, I can only imagine how bad the actual service must be.

I called and Alex picked up immediately. Very polite on the phone and booked an appointment with him in two days. Alex arrived early, did a walk around the entire house, told me there were 2 additional areas that needed repair, he walked me outside and showed me the areas. I was sort of sick about additional areas that needed to be replaced but frankly I could see it and of course I didn't want rain water entering the house so I appreciated his keen eye on my issues. I also had a xeriscape rain barrel that I wanted hooked up to a downspout. This was done Tuesday (excellent job and added height to it to allow for better flow, innovative!) and today Thursday the main work was done and in a tidy manner and it looks great. Alex went up on the roof the first visit and took numerous pictures, diagnosed nails and missing shingles. This was awesome to show my husband all the pictures (roof is about 30 feet high and peaked so we cannot access). I highly recommend Alex and Charlotte Pro Roofing and the employees he had at my home working here (he supervised the entire job). Very professional, tidy, respectful of my questions. I even had had cobwebs that were unreachable that Alex removed for me. Now it doesn't look like a haunted house. A+++++++++++

Waynco Roofing - How they left dormer after initial repairs

Waynco Roofing

Do not use for roof repairs. Their quote was significantly higher than others, but at the time we…read moredidn't see any bad reviews and they were recommended by a metal roof supply professional. We paid them after they did their work then realized when it rained that the roof still leaked. They came back and tried again. At this time we also pointed out how messy their work was where they removed some trim and siding from our dormer, and had put it back together. They assured us all would be to our satisfaction when done. We didn't press as we were still waiting to see if the leak was repaired. 6 months and over a dozen attempts that only resulted in a second leak and more damage to our roof panels (plus the original leak and mentioned dormer damage) we requested a refund so we could move on and hire someone else. After quite a bit of back and forth they sent us a partial refund. They kept more than some of our quotes from other roofers and dug in that they did what they proposed.... Took our roof apart, added some flashing, and put it back together..... disregarding that we hired them to actually FIX it. They also waited until their last attempt to do a water test. Still didn't get it fixed. And when we pointed that out (after rain a few days later), they emailed a response stating a problem they had found and they wanted to come work on that. No mention why they didn't fix that problem WHEN they found it and were there! They blamed our previous roofers and our window installers (2 separate companies mind you), but took no responsibility for their inability to find and fix the problem. Even the problems THEY caused (2nd leak and dormer damage.). We finally hired another company who fixed both leaks. Now we are left to find a contractor to fix the siding and trim they damaged. (The roofers who repaired the leaks didn't have to remove any trim.) So, buyer beware!!! Do not hire Waynco roofing for your roof repairs! No idea if they can install a new roof satisfactorily, but they will charge you enough to replace your roof just to try to fix it, and won't concede even when they fail repeatedly. Absolutely not worth it. Pic of SOME of the sloppiness after their initial repairs. The opposite corner of the dormer looks even worse.

I don't normally write reviews but I had to for this, just for the sake of public awareness. I had…read more3 things on my roof that needed to be repaired. I already knew what they were, and the parts needed were roughly only ~$364 priced out by Home Depot (not including what they'd get with their contractor discount) but yet I was charged over $4063 for the repairs. The guys they sent had it fixed within 6 hours. Meaning that I was paying them roughly $621 per hour to be here. They made what they needed to do seem more intensive than what it was to sell me on it. But in actuality it wasn't that bad. They charged me half of what I'd spend on an entire new roof for 6 hours of work and not even $400 in parts. The picture I've attached is their "repair" it is NOT the "before" photo. Then as a cherry on top, I called the main number to discuss how I've clearly been ripped off, and Karrie was extremely rude and condescending about it, saying "I knew the price before I agreed" (that I was swindled into, by making it seem like they'd need to do A LOT more than they did) and saying "hm..is this your first time owning?" as though I was just naive to the price of contracting or repairs. Disrespectful on every level. Stay far away. I've reported Waynco to the BBB and the North Carolina Licensing board for General Contractors. This lack of professionalism is appalling.

From start to finish, my expectations were either fully met or exceeded. Their business name truly exemplifies their commitment, approach, conscientiousness and client service delivery: A-Plus all the way! In fact, they should change their name to A-Plus Plus Plus!!! I interviewed and received estimates from five independent roofing contractors prior to selecting A-Plus Roofing. They were neither lowest nor highest bidder. Chris, the principal, garnered my confidence from the outset. He was extremely responsive, prompt, forthright and utterly reliable. He was there for me EVERY step of the way. He never missed a beat. Throughout, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism, competence and integrity - a bone fide All-Star! Rarely, as a consumer, have I been afforded such excellence. He was here when he said he would be, counseled me through all stages of the process, afforded me a range of options - apprising me of the pro's & con's - and followed through with every single commitment - and more. He literally went above and beyond. The only credit I can take is making the right decision in choosing A-Plus Roofing & Construction - the rest was on autopilot. The entire job went as smooth as silk. No surprises, headaches, gotchas or detours whatsoever. High accolades are likewise due to Chris' crew. What an outstanding group of guys, all 12 of them! Working synergistically, they tore down my old roof and laid down my new 12-pitch, 60 square roof in a day, as promised! They arrived at 6:30 AM and worked until 9:00 PM in blistering, 100 degree North Carolina heat. Their workmanship was absolutely impeccable - no cut corners. Upon completion, they performed a positively thorough clean-up. My grounds looked better after they finished than before they started. What's more, early the next day, Chris returned to perform a final inspection and follow-through, making sure that ALL nails and EVERY scrap of debris was removed from my property. Hey, he had already been paid! Wow!!! What more can I say but - do yourself and YOUR new roof a favor: Go A-PLUS ALL THE WAY!!! (Thank you Chris & Tammy! I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors - "P.")

Full Spec Home Repair - Repaired gutter

Location for repairs/adjustments were pointed out in advance. The gutter installer who came to work, per his statement, has worked in this trade since 2008. When the work was completed he told me not to test the work immediately after since sealant was applied. Next day I discovered the following: -Newly installed splash guard diverted water right over the top of gutter -Leaking at one end cup was not fixed -While fixing one problem at a location that required an adjustment, the gutter installer opened up a gap in the bottom of the corner piece. This spot was leaking now. On the 2nd visit the gutter installer, among other things, replaced the corner piece - the next day showed leakage on both sides of this replaced corner piece. The gutter installer has not come anymore. Now I had a newly created leakage problem that still had to be addressed. This is where this company failed: 1.Attitude - installer, generally speaking, did not care if he fixed my problems or not (whereas, when I pay, I expect someone to fix my problems). For him it was like - I worked on this and that, and now I can leave. On his 2nd visit when I asked "Do you guaranty that there will be no leaking" he said "I'm not ashamed to come to fix if it leaks". He failed to come to fix leaks. To mention, I had a pleasure to be called "dude" by this tradesman in face to face interactions. 2.Quality of work - the new gutter/downspout combo did not have a drop outlet. I believe it's considered a substandard work. The size of the downspout was not the one that was listed on the estimate. Few nails were left in a gutter. A newly installed splash guard that was diverting water over top of gutter had to be re-positioned on the lip of gutter during the 2nd visit. Replaced corner piece leaked on both ends. All in all, quality was not there. 3.Integrity - This company does not care if they perform the work they have contracted. Seems they do not care about the quality of work they give. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, and asked to give me $200 partial refund for the leakage problem that they have created. Owner Joshua Chisom agreed to provide a refund but never actually made a refund. There is no integrity here!

TL/DR: Merritt Roofing has completely eroded my trust in their products and service. I do NOT…read morerecommend. 8-months after installation, we still don't have a roof we can trust, and they seem to be done supporting me. We did our due diligence and spoke to several roofing companies before committing to Merritt to fully replace our roof. We liked the salesperson/Project Manager, Jason (who was fairly new to the company, but being mentored by another, Bryan), and the price was in the middle of the pack (just over $10K). We even went ahead and paid extra for the "Platinum Coverage" for added piece of mind. We did everything we could think of to receive a good quality service/product. August 2025 - The installation crew did such a bad job on our roof that Merritt have since told me (as if it would put my mind at ease) that they will no longer work with that crew. That's fine for the next folks, I guess, but doesn't help us at all. I understand that they do still work with the contractors of the crew, just not those exact installers, so no guarantee that the way their other crews behave will be any better. We were also surprised to find out that Merritt contracts in installation crews, as part of what we were hoping we were paying for by going with a large, named company was a dedicated installation team. We could have hired random contractors ourselves. The edges of all of the shingles at the ends of the roofs were cut so badly that they were crescent-shaped, and the shingles underneath were exposed. There were a number of chunks taken out of the shingles by carless ladder placement. One of the crew had decided to fix part of a gutter that he had dislodged by shooting a bunch of nails into it, shooting a nail through the bottom of my gutter in the process, and causing a leaking gutter. They had also cracked the soffits (The vent underneath the edge of the roof), and it was just hanging out. They hadn't even tried to repair it. Although this has now been put back in place, it is still cracked. There were numerous other issues with the installation, but the team packed up and left without saying anything to me, and the Salesperson/PM wasn't around either. I called the Salesperson/PM when I went outside to look at the roof, and let him know that I saw some issues with the roof. He came over and agreed that it wasn't acceptable. The team was called back to address, and one of them showed up. He replaced a couple of shingles, and then tried to leave again. He made it clear we weren't happy with the edges of all of the roofs, and that they needed to address. It was scheduled that they would come out a few days later and replace all of those shingles. So immediately we went from having a new roof to a repaired roof. When the team did come to repair the roof, they were supposed to start at 8:30 am. The first person finally arrived at 10:20 am. and they starting working at around 10:40 am. Once the repairs were completed I pointed out some areas I wasn't happy with, and was put in touch with Garrett Zarecky, the Merritt "Production Manager" and was told that they would settle in the next couple of months. Garrett scheduled a date with me at the end of September to come and inspect the roof. He also made a number of comments along the lines of "If we need to replace the whole roof, we will" and that he would check inside our attic space, if he felt it necessary. September 29th 2025 - Garret game to inspect the roof, did not go inside the attic, despite saying he would. He told me something along the lines of "I wouldn't be able to see any issues from in there anyway". He also noted a lot of my concerns, but told me he was happy with how the roof looked and how it was performing. He assured me that this roof was as good as new, despite admitting that they no longer worked with the crew that installed it. Nov/December 2025 - I was cleaning the gutters, preparing for winter, and noticed that there were still a number of shingles that had scuffs and even gouges out of them. There was also the head of a nail pushing through one of the shingles at the back of the house, close to the edge. There were a numbers of other issues with the way the shingles lay and looked cosmetically. I reached out to Jason, Bryan and Garrett, the Production Manager. Jason had left the company, which seemed odd for a person who had only started there a few months before, so Bryan came out to inspect the roof. He agreed that it looked like the shingles had been damaged in some way, possibly as a defect in the shingles, and asked Garrett to inspect the roof. Garrett told me that the damage wasn't caused by a defect, but by foot traffic. The fact that there had been enough foot traffic on my roof in the days after it was installed to cause damage, seems to be another indication of how poorly it was installed. Merritt's "Repair Guy" (Garrett's words), Alonzo, came out in December and removed large areas of shingles, replacing them
