I have 2 reasons to never enter this store again. One: the saleslady lied to me and two: both sales…read moreladies were snooty. One: I specifically requested a high cotton content in my bra. I knew this store is expensive, and I wasn't overly concerned about price if I could get comfort and fit. As I had the complementary fitting, the lady assured me they had a bra my size with a cotton lining, however I could tell by looking at the fabric that it was not cotton, it sorta looked like cotton. Had this appeared to me an honest mistake, and had she apologized, I would have been more forgiving, but clearly didn't know, or more likely knew and didn't care. Two: Yes products are expensive, and yes the quality is reasonably good, but I got sick of hearing: 'It's European you know.' I recognize that some good quality dry goods are produced in Europe, and I know that these will be on the high end price range, but the attitude of these two ladies just made me wonder if I should be there because I don't drive a Mercedes. When one of them found a suitable bra that they could order, I did question the $150 price tag, but I will never buy from there again. I don't know what they did for sizing, but this is the most uncomfortable bra that I have. She assured me it would last forever. No question there because I only wear it when everything else is dirty, then I can't wait to get it off.

Immediate danger zone - within two minutes of walking in, I had found two pairs of shoes in my size (8... usually impossible to find in consignment) and a dress that turned my head, my cohort in crime found a cashmere sweater for $40 and my mother chirped from each room about one thing or another. It's a great selection of stuff, with some great brand names behind it - they obviously have a good eye for what they select. It's also well laid out over two stories - well lit, clean and packed without being cluttered. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth poking your head in to see what you might find. As far as I could tell, it seems to be only women's fashions but I may have missed a section while I was shoe hunting through the store.

You'll be greeted by hilarious anti-Harper propaganda and fantastic Newfoundland-themed graphic tees that are legitimately cool and anything but touristy. From simple 'Bayman' or 'Come From Away' declarations, to stylized illustrations of the zany Rawlins Cross intersection, to an owl that says 'what?' instead of 'who?', I loved them all. I mean, Godzilla versus the Puffin? This is just really rad stuff in a really beautiful space. The rest of the shop is a fantastic mixed bag of unique products. There's more refined fashions for both men and women along with ridiculously good gift shopping. I knew it was a lingerie store, but from the name, I was expected to be walking into a place full of hilariously crass underthings. I was pleasantly surprised that this was far from the case. This place carries a good selection of high end lingerie. They stock some of my favourite European brands and introduced me to a few fun new lines that I wasn't yet familiar with. Between this place and Le Boudoir further down Water St, there's absolutely no excuse to be walking around in boring lingerie. Whether you want to drop the dough on a well made set (and you should, it's definitely worth it), at least pop in here and get a proper fitting. The folks are super friendly and you'd be amazed by how wrong your current sizing may be. Every lady should have at least one lingerie set that makes her feel like superwoman and this place is definitely a possibility for your future superhero bras.
