Our Airbnb was right above the Unicorn, so it was an easy (but pricey) option for meals. Here's what we ordered:
- Burrata and speck: WOW. This is served with blood peaches, and the combination of fruit, meat, and cheese was just perfect. I ordered this twice on two separate occasions, and the second time was served a whole ball of burrata, which was just too much and unbalanced the speck and peaches. Still, an excellent appetizer that I would definitely order again.
- Zuppa Di Zucchine Con Ricotta: My boyfriend loved this soup. It's verdant and very well-plated, and make sure to dip your spoon into the center to get more of the ricotta. Would order again.
- Gnocchi Al Ragu' D' Anatra: This was very good, very rich, and very filling. Would order again, but as a starter portion.
- Fettuccine Porcini e Tartufo: Overwhelmingly heavy without much truffle taste. Would not order again.
- Tortellini Al Granchio: Portion size, even as a main, was not enough for one person. The bisque was also meh, so this dish didn't feel like it warranted its price tag.
- Risotto Peperoni & Formaggio Di Capra: Better than the tortellini and had a bit of spice. Would probably order again.
Food-wise, the Unicorn has fancier Italian dishes, but the pastas err on the side of being too heavy. The appetizers are delicious, and it would be great to see that balance of flavor carried into their main dishes. That's what kept this 4-star review from being a 5-star one.
Service, however, is impeccable. I've eaten at higher-end restaurants before, and the service here ranks in my top five. The entire server team is on-point, very nimble and very good at anticipating needs. They're also great at recommending wines to go with your dishes. I would be willing to come back to the Unicorn just for the service, appetizers, and wine alone. read more
