Sunday evening family dinner. Arrival is very unpleasant. Difficult to find, parking is far, entrance to the building is in the middle of a building site. Then the elevator is closed, and one has to use the internal phone to beg for access.... One person at a time!
Once upstairs (20th floor) the view is pretty. One can still make out the disarray of the on-going constructions, but in the distance the city is lit up. The decor is very classy, large tables perhaps hindering private conversations.
Nibbles served with drinks are a nice touch, although presented pretenciously. Tasty if a bit salty.
We had starter, first course and a main course. The gamberi were so-so, disappointingly sweetish with mandarin infusion, but yhe vitello tonnato was excellent and innovative, with a light foam instead of the classic mayo. The white bean soup was light and tasty. As a main course, we tried the Pluma of spanish pork, nicely confite with an unusual consistency, and the beef tagliata - not quite what I'd expect for a tagliata - rather a thick cut roastbeef, very tender.
With coffee, nice chocolates.
Unpleasant touch: a visit to the bathroom is without toilet paper (no-one went tomcheck since lunch?)...
I have come to expect more than a view and better from Michelin restaurants. read more
