In 1980, Beattie pools installed a gunite inground pool at my parents' home in Saginaw. Ever since…read morethe install, Beattie has been the only company my father trusted to maintain and repair the pool over the years. It is in good condition due to the care and maintenance provided by my father and Beattie. This July 2021, my father passed away. My mother turned to Beattie to help with the pool. She took water to them weekly for analysis so she could make sure she was caring for the pool properly. She did analysis on 8/6, 8/14, 8/24, and 9/3. She arranged to have Beattie close the pool early in September, right after Labor Day. They came 9/8/21 and charged her $605.95 for winterization, cover of the diving board, cleaning the filters (they took with them), putting on the cover. In late October, my mother purchased a condo and sold the home she and my father had owned since 1975. When the perspective owners had the home inspected on 10/27/21, the inspector (Priority One) lifted the cover of the pool and noted that there was water spouting from a pool jet. My mother phoned Beattie Pool on 10/27, citing the inspector's report and requesting that they come by the end of the week to complete the job she already paid $605 for in early September. She was told that she would have to wait until all other customers on the schedule were completed as her pool was already closed. My mother spoke to the manager, Alexa, who was quite rude. She asked to speak to the owners and was told they were not there. She stated that if anything happened to the pool due to Beattie's negligence, she would pursue legal action for cost of repairs. At this point, the owner (who was supposedly not there), got on the line. She said my mother would have to wait and that was the best she was going to get. My mother (78 year old new widow) was quite upset. The next day, she played a voice message for me from Carrie Beattie. Carrie told my mother she was no longer welcome in the store, and would no longer be a customer of Beattie pools. She also refused to refund the cost of winterization and refused to help fix the problem Beattie pools caused. My mother hired another company to come and fix the issue. That gentleman arrived on 10/30/21 and stated the following: 1. pump plugs were not removed. There was water in the pump put/trap as well as in the volute and impellor cavity. There was no odor of antifreeze/glycol, nor any coloring related to the use of either Pool Antifreeze or RV & Marine antifreeze. 2. The filer was left with the lid on, in a sealed position. The filter drain plug was also left installed. There was 5" of water left in the vessel as well as in the drain line itself. 3. The plug utilized to plug off the skimmer line was an industry standard "Gizzmo". The Gizzmo was cross thread" into the skimmer port. No more than 2 full turns were required to remove the Gizzo. The decision was made to re-winterize the entire system to ensure, so there was no possibility for moisture to remain. Upon blowing out the suction line into the garage, no less than 10 gallons of water were removed from the suction line. No antifreeze was observed. The second company did this work for $79.87. Much less than the bill from Beattie for $185 for winterization, which did NOT occur. As my mother no longer owns this home, there is no longer any contact with this company. PLEASE consider other sources when servicing your pool! Had she not had the home/pool inspected, it would have been destroyed by the negligence of Beattie Pools! Plus, they refused to do anything to fix their gross error, but instead yelled at a widow and banned her from the store! My father would have been VERY upset over the treatment of Beattie pools after his loyal dedication to the company for so many years. Once the company was turned over to the next generation, the service and customer support declined severely.

I was in looking for Red Wings merchandise and was told they should have some here…read more The layout is like a mix between a workwear store and a sporting goods store. They've got tons of product and the prices are pretty fair. I didn't find a ton of Red Wings stuff, but I got a T-shirt that was nice along with some Michigan stuff. Go Blue! Staff was not overly abundant but were helpful, and I did run into a nice cashier named Arelene (or Arlene) who was from Canada as well, and she was very helpful. Next time I'm in town I'll probably see what else they have there. Worth the trip!

I asked the cashier twice to page someone to help and no clerks showed up. Finally asked the cashier again and he called to the back room. Whoever was back there said, "if it's not on the shelf, we don't have it", and refused to come out. Pissed off, I walked out. Two other's walked out at roughly the same time for the same reasons. Got home, got on the computer and guess what? Amazon has a "wardrobe" program for Prime members. Order stuff and it's shipped free, as in, no charge at all. Try on the items for fit, and return what you don't like, and pay for the items you want to keep. They even include a self sealing box complete with return labels. Dunham's obviously treats their employees like crap, and pays garbage wages, which is why you never see the same people there. Employees have no incentive to help sell the store items. With service like Amazon, Dunham's days are numbered. At least in Midland they are.
