Augusto and his crew did an incredibly good job in every aspect of replacing our sewer lateral. It was extra tricky as our 10x14 garden storage shed had to be moved to dig a 10 foot deep hole to access the city sewer main at the back of our property. They moved and then reset the shed in exactly the same spot after inspection and certification of their work by EBMUD and the City of Oakland. They also fixed our sump pump and installed PVC pipe to correct its water flow without charge. They even returned at my request several days later to reset and level the shed at no extra charge when the earth under one corner settled after a big rain - and assured me that they would do so again if ever needed. They were always on time and stayed in communication throughout the project. Disclosure: I had contacted Oakland Rooter & Plumbing for a job, and they partnered with Underground Rooter due to a friendly relationship to help me with my plumbing issue. Both companies were phenomenal and despite having contracted with one, I am writing a positive review for both companies because of the partnership that happened. I'd happily recommend both companies. SUMMARY: Underground Rooter came out to help on a job at my home and did an amazing job. STORY: When I ran my washing machine, my nearby shower and toilet would start to flood. Rooting didn't solve the problem, but a camera discovered that the issue was either a broken pipe or a missed connection to the sewer line. Underground Rooter partnered with Oakland Rooter & Plumbing worked together the day before Thanksgiving to triage, then started the job the day after Thanksgiving. They dug a hole near my driveway and were respectful of all the plants and area around. They then found the issue. Long story short, turns out it wasn't a root issue in our pipe. Our pipe had been draining into the ground for 10+ years without being connected to the sewer main (I moved here only 3 years ago). On top of that, it was an older clay pipe, which was still in working condition. I asked the team if they could do a trenchless replacement to a new pipe and they said yes. They prepped all day on Friday, then did the final work on Saturday. By mid-afternoon everything was in place and my front yard looked as though nothing had been touched. PROS + Fast. Once the issue was triaged the day before Thanksgiving, they worked to get it fixed on Friday and Saturday. + Professional. They have the tools. They have the crew. They have the skills to get the job done. + Respectful. There was no judgement about the issue, but only looking to help solve it. + Easy. I had a clogged underground drainage pipe that needed to be replaced, and Augusto and his team did a great job. He first came to my house to provide an estimate -- at no charge -- and showed me video of the dirt blockage using a camera attached to a long line that he fed through the pipe. He then sent me a quote and did the work on time and on budget a few days after I decided to proceed. They also did a great job protecting the plants that had to be moved for the work, and with the cleanup. The toilet and tub were backing up ... couldn't use the washing machine or flush the toilet ... it was a mess! Mr. Ramos came quickly, immediately diagnosed the problem (roots in the clay pipe) and called me with the news. He also had the solution, got a permit SO quickly and manually removed the roots so the toilet could be used while we waited for the permit, etc. The process was smooth, organized and professional.
