Was it worth the wait? Probably not. But was it delicious? Yes…read more Arrived at 10:45am on a Friday, they open at 11:30. The line was already 3/4 of the way down the block. Finally got to the front of the line to order at 12:15 and was served my food 10 minutes later. $38 for a sandwich is steep and it's cash only so you have to carry a lot of cash if you are feeding a family/group. They were already out of the local honey soda since I guess they're getting ready to close for the season (it's mid September). The lady who took our order when we finally got to the counter was nice. After we ordered we sat down at a table to wait, it was a nice day out and you could kinds of see the water. We didn't have a problem finding a table, so there is probably the perfect amount of tables correlated to the somewhat slow single cashier ordering system. The lobster roll was piled high and delicious. The lobster is cold but tasted very fresh. Got it with some warm butter and some lemons. I prefer a warm lobster roll, but this lobster roll was just outstanding. Huge and fresh and tons of meat, including plenty of tail meat where most other places only give you mostly claw meat. It was loaded so high, I had to take like a third of the meat off just so I could fit the sandwich in my mouth, and then I ate the lobster on its own with a fork. Easily the best lobster roll I've ever had. But again, not sure if it was worth the 1.5+ hour wait. I stopped here on our way from Portland to Bar Harbor for a few days, and I actually had the opportunity to stop here again on the way back but opted not to because 90+ minutes is a long time to wait for a sandwich. I'm glad I got to try it for the experience.

Recently I just wanted some chips and guac, and realized as I opened the bag: neither are homemade. And, I get it, it's a small food truck turning over lots of orders quickly. The chips are for sure store bought, and the guacamole's consistency (quite pureed) and flavor (none) just reminded me of those little plastic cups you peel back the covering on from like Sabra or Wholly. I think, if you don't have any dietary restrictions, you'll probably love this spot! Expect a wait.

And to make it even better, it is amazing. Although Brazilian food is all about meat, they still thought about the vegetarians. They make some amazing grilled veggies plate and to die for grilled cheese. The cheese bread is also so good. My husband does eat meat and he loves it all, chicken, sausage and specially the steak. Going early may be the best time to grab some freebies and some handcut fries... You beat the heat and the intense crowds. This year I took a LYFT ride down... ProTip. For me, this festival is OK. The prices are high, the streets are packed, parking is a s**t show, and by the end there are many highly intoxicated twenty-somethings. Maybe this would have been my jam back in the day, but unless I'm working downtown, I'm probably not going to go.

The Old Port Festival includes a variety of local artists, food trucks, and entertainers, so the fact that the Old Port Festival is highlighting what locals have to offer, then I am okay with the mass amounts of people that are out and about on this day. Along with the various offerings and music at Old Port Festival, there are also some restaurants with drink deals, or bars that get busy, but again, it's highlighting what Portland has to offer. I typically spend my time during the Old Port Festival at the Porthole where they also highlight local talent to play music, and they have a great outdoor deck to enjoy the weather. Overall, I appreciate what the Old Port Festival offers Portland, and I will be a supporter every year.

Every vendor we walked by, said hello and seemed warm and friendly. The area was set up near the main walkway, which was nice - very tidy and organized. There were a lot of different patrons, young and old and everyone seemed so happy and engaged with the vendors. I can't believe it's taken me YEARS to finally visit. I will definitely return, if I can get out of work in time. That's the only downside, they are only set up until 6pm on Thursdays.
