I love to come here to get my self tapes done. I've only worked with Bru, but every time I come, I know I'm leaving with some amazing material. It's super easy to make an appointment, especially at the last minute! If I have any material with any weight to it, I always come here. The minimum is 20 minutes and can go all the way up to an hour. If you go over your time, he will just add an extra charge instead of cutting you off. Which most self-tape people won't do. Plus Bru will actually coach you through your self tape if you need a little extra help. It's also great during pilot season because when a bunch of people are doing the same material, it makes it easier from them to pick up what the casting directors want and your tape comes out that much better. read more

I've been to a hand full of taping places in LA, and Undercurrent is the finest studio I have had the pleasure to work in. Aina and Bru are extremely accommodating, professional, and helpful. The studio and equipment are top notch. High end cameras, lights, and talented readers are standard here. Both Aiana and Bru have given me excellent readings, direction, and feedback. I always feel great when I leave there because I know I've put my best foot forward. And with there professional contribution, I know I will book. If you haven't tried them out, I would do it on your very next audition. They get my highest recommendation! read more

This is my go-to studio whenever I need a "self-tape". Bru and Aina are true professionals and their set is top notch - I get feedback all the time on how good the auditions look and sound. Since Bru is also a director, he gives valuable feedback on how the scene should look. They also have very competitive prices, easy to book a session on their website and have a great turnaround time. Highly recommended! read more

Omg I love them! Aina and Bru here at Undercurrent are the go to place for us when we need a self-tape done for my daughter. The first time we taped with them we taped two auditions and she booked one and got pinned for the other, which was for a pilot. Bru works so well with her and their self-tape set up is top notch! They also put together a reel for her and it came out really well. Couldn't be more pleased with the both of them and their advice, work, services! read more

I went here after seeing an audition tape that they did for my roommate, as well as a reel they put together. Gotta say-I was super impressed. I was also excited that they offer coaching as well, if you're up for it. I went in for a 30 minute session for an audition tape, and with the happily received coaching they let me add on another 10 to make sure we got what we needed. Both Aina and Bru were extremely friendly and also very knowledgeable. Bru gave me some awesome adjustments on my audition, and even took the time to recommend a studio that he thought would help me with a particular issue I've been battling with-thanks dude! Both are super friendly, prices are affordable, the quality is stupid good (like for real, it's top notch), AND they give good direction. Good people. I'll be back! read more

Bru and Aina are AMAZING! They are OUTSTANDING professionals and THE NICEST people to work with. I've been going to them for the past 3 years and have taped multiple auditions with them. Thanks to their superb work and impeccable service I booked several jobs and have been "in the mix" for many others. They are THE BEST in town and I wouldn't go anywhere else. As a professional actor of 15 years, I've tried many other places here, in LA, and none of them compare to Bru's and Aina's amazing professionalism, dedication and diligence. I am extremely grateful to them for being such a pivotal part in the advancement of my career. THANK YOU guys!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!! read more

I got my demo reel cut with them from a couple short films I shot last year, and they worked their magic. The final product was awesome! They have a really good sense of pace and editing and getting you the best reel possible. They're really easy to work with and the space was great I got to check out their self-tape facility and I was impressed with their set up - they have top of the line lighting equipment and cameras. will definitely try it out in the future read more

I cannot put into words, how wonderful of an experience it is to work/self-tape with Bru and Aina! EVERY single time I use them for my self-tapes, my reps unanimously rave about the quality, and how strong my auditions are. That's due in great part, to their amazing coaching and reading skills, as well the excellent equipment they have! I'm a big fan of good customer service...they elevate it to "great" customer service! The icing on Undercurrent Actors Studio is, how kind-hearted Bru and Aina are!! I recommend them without hesitation! read more

These guys are the rare combination of professional and fun! Had to schedule a self-tape on Sunday for a Monday noon deadline. I was able to schedule online, and Aina got back to me very quickly with a confirmation. Bru and Aina have a beautiful backdrop and superior equipment--i'd almost rather tape with them than go into a CDs office. They will make you look so good! In addition to the awesome studio, they are excellent readers and have great ideas for second takes. Super-quick turnaround and extremely affordable. And very very nice people. I will definitely be back. read more

I've used all the selftape studios in town, and they all do pretty much the same thing but Undercurrent stands out. They are filmmakers so they know exactly what casting is looking for, plus Bru is a great director! They have amazing lighting and a big area so you dont feel like the camera and lights are on top of you. Beautiful picture. I had to do a directors session via skype at 10pm and they were more than willing to go out of their way to help me at such an inconvenient hour. They are by far my number 1 go-to! read more

I can't say enough good things about Undercurrent Media. I've done a few of their $20 on tape classes. Just awesome!! You do a scene however you want just to try it that way. They then send a copy of all your takes to your email by that evening. They even gave away free slate shots for anyone who donated cloths to the homeless. Very nice and very positive people. If you work with them once, you'll want to work with them forever. read more

Awesome self-tape studio! Having such friendly faces behind the camera means that taping auditions is actually fun. :) Tapes look great, the turnaround is fast, there's super helpful coaching available if needed, and as experienced actors themselves, Aina and Bru are great readers to work with as well. (Side note: I think it's really cool that they request that we email our sides to them beforehand and then they read from an iPad. Yay for being green!) They also did an awesome job editing my reel. Love this place! read more

Bru and Aina are the best!! I've been going to Undercurrent for taped auditions for the past year, and they never fail to provide high quality service. They have a full sized studio downstairs, equipped with professional sound and lighting appliances. Also, both of them are accomplished actors, and are excellent reading partners (unlike the bored, monotoned casting directors that we occasionally run into). They are an awesome team to work with, both highly knowledgable and helpful, and the finished product always comes out clean and crisp. Consider me a happy customer! Will continue using their services for a very long time :) read more

Aina and Bru are top notch professionals and treat my daughter and I with courtesy and respect. They take our auditions seriously and provide exceptional service and care in making great quality tapes. read more

I had a coupon for a free "self tape" audition session. Well, I am SO glad I used it. They were SO nice and helpful -- and their website to schedule a taping is a BREEZE. They sent me several digital reminders with all the pertinent information - asked for my sides in advance so THEY could be prepared -- then you are just relaxed by their kind spirit and you go in and get GREAT helpful, technical feedback to make your scene ON POINT! If you have a self tape request -- I HIGHLY recommend using this service, because it is WAY easier and more professional than other places I have tried. The lighting and camera is of the highest quality -- I know it will look on par with anyone casting in a CD office. Fantastic experience! read more

I can't say enough good things about Undercurrent. I met Bru and Aina while doing a shoot with them, and they are two of the nicest people I've met here in LA. Incredibly talented, hard working, and fun people to work with. They're so generous, dedicating a lot time to helping actors. Being actors themselves, they know how the business works in all aspects. They have a beautiful studio, and always make you feel comfortable and welcome. My words might get lost in the sea of the numerous positive reviews, but they're here for a reason - they are genuinely awesome people. I love them! :) read more

Undercurrent Actors Studio - Pardon the fuzzy- just because I took a screenshot from the Actors Access player. It's great quality, promise! :) - Video/Film Production Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This was such an awesome experience with the dynamic duo of Aina and Bru. :) I had to put an audition on tape and they really took their time and gave me their utmost attention. Bru, being an actor as well, made an excellent coach. He added layers to my audition that I hadn't even thought of! The quality of the video was perfect and the price was affordable and worth every penny. Bru even took time out of his busy schedule AFTER the video was shot to speak with me on the phone about some changes I wanted to make and gave excellent feedback. They are very hands on and more importantly, they care about actors. I also had a free consultation for my reel which I definitely plan of getting edited by Bru. I saw what he did with my friend's reel which was the main reason I called them. I would highly recommend Undercurrent to my fellow actors! read more

The BEST place to tape in LA, and I have taped at a lot of places. They're affordable, offer the best lighting, sound, efficient turnaround time, and best of all, great coaching. I go to them as often as I can get in. I always get great feedback from my tapes (a two-time Emmy winning director/producer told me that my tape looked better than any he'd ever seen), and am always confident and comfortable in my auditions with them. Plus, they're professional and just very cool. Highly, highly, highly recommended. read more

First and foremost, as an actor trying to make it in this town there are tons of people and businesses just trying to take your money with not much to show for it - and I am very happy to say THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES!! The team was extremely helpful, professional, positive, focused and dare I say genuine and kind... (I know, unthinkable). I put an audition on tape and Bru (the guy) not only was an excellent reader, but he made sure that I was in focus, correctly framed and well-lit. The space was inviting and professional and the technology was up to date. The turn-around on my material was quick and I really can tell that they put real consideration into the review and edit of my footage. I will definitely be back. For everything. :) read more

I have had multiple reels made my Bru and Aina at Undercurrent and I have to say they truly love and commit to what they do. I never felt like they cut corners or felt I wasn't a priority. They will keep revising the material until you are happy and they do it with such patience and attention to detail. Things that stood out most about them is that they are super personable and go above and beyond. Honing in on things I know they could have not touched and I wouldn't have noticed. But they really take pride in their work and end result. If you're super picky like me and and like decisive editors with a keen eye for detail, Undercurrent is a no brainer. :) read more

Ok so I went in for the consultation and bru took time and explained everything in details. My video came out with color correction and yes they were not in my price range but I am so glad I went to them. And his wife is super cute and that has nothing to do with business but they both knows bout being in front of the camera. I recommend for high quality editing. read more

I've tried other self-tape locations (Argentum, CAZT), but Undercurrent is my favorite for many reasons: 1. Video Quality: lighting, sound, color correcting is balanced. For once, I actually think I look good on-camera! 2. Space set-up: Their equipment is professional and the space is very organized, clean, and big enough where I don't feel like I'm cramped in closet like other studios. 3. Cold Read help: Bru & Aina are awesome at helping you with your self-tape. They've been acting for many years, so they understand how to bring out the best in your audition. They were very honest and helpful. I watched my first take and my last take and it showed a world of a difference. They really do know what they are doing. Other locations either don't provide a reader and if they do, the reader doesn't offer as much feedback. I will definitely coming back here for self-tape as well as for my next demo reel and would highly recommend checking them out. read more
