I recently completed the Intro to voiceover workshop at Real Voice LA and had an amazing experience. Mike and Katie were phenomenal instructors, knowledgeable, encouraging, and extremely welcoming. They created an open and inclusive environment where I felt comfortable participating, learning, and stepping outside my comfort zone. As someone still building my foundation in voice acting, I walked away with valuable information, practical beginner level skills, and even more motivation to continue pursuing the craft. I would highly recommend Real Voice LA to anyone interested in learning more about voiceover! read more

I started taking online voice acting classes here as a complete beginner, and I've been blown away by the experience. The instructors are incredibly skilled and supportive--they break things down in a way that actually clicks, and you can tell they genuinely care about your growth. What surprised me most is the community. Everyone is welcoming, encouraging, and excited to see each other improve. Even as a newcomer, I never once felt out of place. Whether you're just starting out like me or a working pro looking to sharpen your craft, this school is the real deal. I can't recommend it enough! read more

I recently completed the commercial voiceover bootcamp with Craig. It was the most enjoyable experience I have had a voice actor yet. Not only was the curriculum loose and fun, but the applied aspects of that curriculum helped you really gain some insights into your strengths and weaknesses, and you leave the class fully improved ready for your next audition. Hands down 110% recommend, whether you are experienced or not. Thanks a ton Craig and Real Voice LA! read more

I took the voiceover intensive with Mike and Katie. Best class ever! Great information for beginners and anyone who needs a brush up on the new industry standards with everything that going on. I've booked a commercial demo reel for them to produce that I'm certainly excited about! Looking to do other workshops with Real Voice LA to expand my VO knowledge. read more

I give it 3.5 stars. I took the Online Commercial Workshop with Barbara Niles. It was very helpful, and I learned a lot. There was some disorganization. Two of us didn't receive an email with important links for the class. We worked it out, though. What struck me was Barbara's enthusiasm when dealing with the other two students. She told one of them she had a great "mom voice" and gave her plenty of suggestions to find work. She was also really impressed and enthusiastic about the other student. Barbara didn't have the same enthusiasm with me. In fact, she was a lot more critical. I've worked with booth directors before, so I was prepared for that. The other students were either more experienced in voice overs or had an acting background, and I just started a year ago, am quite a bit older than the other students, and I've had a career in another field. There were some other differences, but I don't think they're a factor. I just felt Barbara was subtly telling me I won't book any work. So if you spend your money on these classes, keep a potential lukewarm reception in mind. read more

Arianna was fabulous with her direction. I've been recording for years, taken many classes and can quickly tell if a coach knows their stuff. She was spot on :). Look forward to more classes with Real Voice LA! read more

Very good class, helpful, informative and fun! Exactly what I was looking for in a VO class, having just started out.

I was referred by another actor I worked with on a film to Real Voice LA. I've always been interested in getting into VO but was a little intimidated by the technical aspects of it. I took the Intro to VO class with Mike Delay and Katie and all those fears were put to rest. It was a 4-week online class and it was amazing! They made the tech aspect seem very doable and not scary. They are so kind, knowledgeable, and patient. They got me very excited about VO! They are true pros at what they do. I also took a VO for Video Games class online this past weekend with Micheal Orenstein and it was amazing!! I can't wait to not only take more classes with Real Voice but also start working in VO! Thanks for the amazing studio and classes. read more

I was very green in the VO world , but knew I wanted to start my journey I so decided to take the intro to VO with Katie And Mike. I can't say enough good things about them as a team . Made me feel so welcomed right away. They're patient , kind , and so supportive . They're very knowledgeable in the VO world so they taught us valuable lessons about the biz . I was naturally nervous seeing it was my first time in the booth , but they gave me tools to work with and it help instantly. The studio is also extremely professional and clean. I had so much fun and learned so much from them . They deserve 10 stars honestly!! Can't wait to take some more classes here soon. I took a one-off online class with Karen Strassman fall 2021 and I was absolutely blown away with how much I learned in Karen's 3 hour class. She took the time to do personal coaching for all of us which lasted around 20-25 minutes. I found it invaluable because I had no experience with a coach prior and I also could listen in on other's sessions to study from there, too. Since then, I've taken numerous workout classes and one off classes with several instructors. In one instance, the correct time was listed for a class and they started later than normal. Mike refunded me and offered me a free class. Excellent customer service, quality, and professionalism! read more

I took the 3-week intensive intro to VO with Mike and Katie and it was SO much fun! This is the perfect first step for people who want to learn the basics. Mike and Katie are not only really nice, they're great teachers! It's a small class size, so you really get the opportunity to practice, learn from peers, and given valuable feedback. Katie is the vocal coach and directs while Mike teaches about editing and equipment. They also produce great demos and offer a variety of other classes. The into to VO class is an amazing deal and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into voice over! read more

I'm so glad I found Real Voice LA! This was such a cool experience and it really opened up my world to Voice Overs! The class was small and intimate so you really get to have one on one time in the booth. I chose Craig's class and it did not disappoint! He's a phenomenal teacher and his experience in the industry is invaluable - I learned so much with him and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! The signup online was seamless, the location is super convenient and they have parking available. I loved everything about it and can't wait to signup for my next class! Thanks so much! read more

I took the Biz of VO Workshop with Arianna Ratner and Mike DeLay - it was incredibly helpful and just the right shot in the arm to take my next steps in the VO world. Arianna laid out the realities of working in the industry, and Mike offered a wonderful technical introduction to setting up your home recording studio with specific suggestions for microphones, interfaces, and how to acoustically treat the space you record in. If you want to start in voiceover and don't know where to go - well...now you know where to go. read more

Just had an incredible recording session for a NICKELODEON project at this phenomenal pro studio. As someone lucky to be a professional voiceover talent in Los Angeles (for over 20 years!) - I've been in pretty much every major recording studio - But while they all may have the top-notch, state-of-the-art equipment like REAL VOICE ... they do NOT have an Owner and Director like MIKE, who cares passionately about putting the Talent at ease, encouraging, and bringing out the best in your performance. While during this time he is as booked out as every other professional recording studio in Hollywood (and by the way has insane safety and health protocols in place to ensure the well-being of his clients) - if you're lucky enough to book a workshop with them, or produce a voiceover reel with MIKE - all I can say is, you are in the best of hands, and know that you are on the road to success. read more

I have been taking classes at real voice LA for a few months now and the experience has been amazing! The classes are so good! And affordable!! Also it's once of the only places that offer classes in Spanish too! As for voice coaches I can't recommend Kirsten Day and Valentina Latyna enough, they are great coaches and have helped me a lot to better my skills. Also Mike is amazing (the owner) I've been just starting off with voiceovers and Mike has been available and supportive for some of the projects I've booked and that I can't record at home. He quickly responded to my text messages and made the booking process a breeze! read more

I just took the 3 week Intro to VO intensive with Mike and Katie. These two are the best and really have created a class which covered everything I needed to know being new to the VO world. From equipment, industry info and diving right into reading spots and getting direction. Mike and Katie, like so many others have said, really care and made me feel welcome. I cannot recommend this class enough!! It is well worth the cost and I will definitely be coming back to Real Voice LA for more! read more

I admit I'm kind of a skeptic but now I understand why these folks have five stars everywhere. I took a VO class last weekend run by Mike and Katie and it was super fun. I went from shaking like a leaf in the booth to volunteering to go first the very next day. I'd say even if you have a minor whim to explore being a voice actor, you can't lose out on giving their class a try. Everyone in the class had a blast and they were the nicest, most supportive people you can imagine. I can't wait to take another class here! read more

I started taking classes with Real Voice LA at the start of my VO career in 2020, and there's a reason I still return for classes now! Mike is super organized & communicative and runs his business like a well-oiled machine. Craig knows his stuff and has been my go-to coach for commercials and video games. I've yet to walk away from a class/workout without having gained something from it. read more

This studio is outstanding. I just realized I've had this unfinished review sitting in my yelp drafts for the past 4 years because right as I was about to post, I got nervous about everyone knowing how awesome this place was and revealing the best kept secret of LA sound studios! Well, the secret has long been out now. If I had nine thumbs, I would have all of them up! read more

I am a novice when it comes to the VO world. I didn't know where to start, who to talk to, or how to get started in this career I knew nothing about. THAT'S WHEN THIS GOD SEND OF A STUDIO CAME AROUND. Real Voice LA not only provided amazing classes for me to learn from, they gave me great and affordable instruction from teachers who care about their students and their future success. I went from not knowing a thing of VO, to knowing a path for me to take to eventually turn this into a career. Mike is in charge of this place and he really is the best. Easy to talk to, responds to emails, answers questions about VO, and makes kick ass demos that make you sound great! After taking the 4 week commercial VO workshop with Craig Lee Thomas (I can write a separate review for his amazing class), I feel confident in recording a commercial demo soon with this studio. TL;DR: If you are looking for a place to learn, record demos, better yourself as a VO artist/person, STOP LOOKING AND HEAD TO THIS STUDIO! You really won't regret it. It was the best decision I've made. (Don't tell my wife I said that) read more

This place is amazeballs! I took the Animation VO Workshop with Kirsten and learned sooooo much! We got to get behind the mic and learned how to get out of our comfort zone, let our crazy out, and voice fly by creating our own character. So much fun and learning was had by all. Mike, the owner, is awesome to work with and all their classes are affordable and crazy educational with instructors who are actually working in the VO field. I am also taking their Crash Course VO Intensive class. If you are thinking about getting into VO work, then you should...nah, need to take at least one or more VO classes there, you won't regret it! read more

I took a 3 day workshop and it was better than I could have hoped. I learned useful recording techniques and got valuable feedback on my performances. They are knowledgeable and kind. I am new to voiceover and heard about Real Voice LA on social media. So far I've taken a total of 4 different workshops online via Zoom. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They're working professionals with so much talent. I always have a blast and learn a lot! Truly appreciate their support and guidance. Real Voice LA has a variety of workshops to choose from. For example, Animation, Commercial, Spanish VO, Q&A and so much more. Plus, you receive a recording of the online workshop. If you don't have a professional microphone, you still learn online and participate with everyone else. I believe that prices are reasonable and worth it. Highly recommend! read more

Honestly, I would give 6 stars if I could! I'm still new to voice over and have taken a few workshops here. Based on my experience, I can tell the owner, Mike, and the instructors really care about their students and are invested to help you succeed! Every time I have a concern or want to check if there are anymore spots open (workshops have limited seating to ensure everyone has lots of booth time and feedback), I just send a message on IG. Mike always responds quickly and is extremely helpful. The instructors will give you feedback on improvement, help you pinpoint your strengths, and give you insight about working in VO. In addition, it is a fun and friendly environment to learn, along with meeting other VO students/professionals. I am extremely pleased that they are well equipped, offer their services at an affordable price, and send you a file of your recording afterwards. Plus, they offer snacks (nothing can beat free Cheez Its) and drinks (tea, coffee, water) for their students! Being a tea person, my eyes went towards the tea selection. While there is a variety of tea, I'm sure that there different coffee available. (I was too focused on drinking my tea haha) ****They even have sales for their workshops and classes!!! Just follow them on Instagram, so you can be updated. IG: realvoicela read more
