It was my first time taping with Bru and will DEFINITELY be back. He was quick, careful and attentive. His taping area is a great set up, great lighting and staging (for actors of color it's a MUST) and he gives good, thoughtful notes. He even helped me run a segment of the scene I that wasn't sticking for me. And they really do pro-rate your time with them for the time you actually use. Great business ethic. It's your time with them and they attend to your needs. HIGHLY recommend them. read more

Bru is amazing. He is a great person and a good director. I have been working with him for a few months now. He is not only a great director but a great mentor :) read more

The team at Undercurrent is truly spectacular! I have gone in twice now for taped audition sessions, and each time was a new learning experience for me. The feedback and coaching from Bru and Aina are extremely helpful. I've also seen what they can do with demo reels and editing. It's as professional as you can get. The work they produce can go on network television, that's how quality they are. Heard about them through the actor grapevine, and I'm so glad that I went in!!!! read more

I had great experiences with Undercurrent Media! I shot my slate and also one of my auditions with them. They were very nice, sweet and very helpful and I was amazed with their work! I really like the lighting and they color correct if it's needed. I was very satisfied with it AND... I got a call back next week because the video they shot was great! Thank you so much Bru and Aina! I will definitely come back!! read more

My friend referred me to Undercurrent Media and what first attracted me to them is that I can schedule everything online and their price is affordable and you will receive your audition that day color corrected and sound leveled!! You will look so professional! What made the experience even better and what made me a regular happy customer is the fact that Bru and Aina are fantastic coaches. For the price you pay you get professional coaching and professional lighting, sound and camera work. I have worked with them many times and I have almost always booked or had a callback. Plus they are really really good people!! read more

For the longest time, I dreaded taped submissions. Then I met Aina and Bru. Not only are they lovely people, they are also prompt, accommodating and skilled. I've worked with them twice and booked both jobs. P.S. They are excellent with child actors too! read more

I love this place! I feel like they really go above and beyond to accommodate the actor. Bru and Aina are also both actors so they know what it's like when you get an audition last minute and need to work it out! Also, the lighting is friggen impeccable and I feel like they really genuinely care, which means a lot to me! Highly recommend. read more

I came, I saw, I was taken awesome care of! Aina and Bru cut my reel together and I swear I got work off of it. They made me look like as talented as I hoped I was. They're also super chill and cool people. Easy recommendation. You need a reel or audition tape done, don't think about it, just go there. Period!! Thanks, guys!! read more

Great work. The video looks and sounds really good! You bring the talent and they will make it look good.

Doing self tape auditions with these guys have been some of the most awesome experiences I had that was not only super nice from Bru and Aina but also incredibly speedy with high quality to boot. I highly recommend these guys for any of your self taping needs :D read more

I have used a few places to tape my auditions and undercurrent really is my favorite. They really take the time to make sure lighting is perfect as well as the sound. Bru and Aina are both amazing actors and really work to give you a solid read. Most importantly I feel they really believe in you when you are in there. They pay attention to the details and give honest feedback of the scene. All of this in a not rushes 30 minutes is amazing. I have also worked with them for an hour for a larger scene and it is equally wonderful. Not only is is affordable but you get the files very quickly and they look and sound phenomenal. They have become friends and an amazing breath of fresh air when I get the "I need this put on tape" not worrying how it will come together and just working on the scene is amazing. Don't hesitate to check them out E- read more

They are amazing! As both an actor, writer, host who produces her own content, I would highly recommend anyone who is look for top notch quality to work Under Current. The first time I used them was to shoot a political hosting segment. (AT THE LAST MINUTE). I literally called them at 9:45pm the night before I needed to shoot and within 30 minutes they told they would be able to shoot my segment. Ps. I called three other well known production companies who were not able to accommodate me last minute. Not only was it shot with great clarity and quality, picture, sound, but the editing was equally amazing. For the bigger project: because they did such a great job with my hosting segment I used them as well to shoot a one episode web series for Indie Gogo. Of course I wanted to stick to an ultra low budget, but Bru & Aina gave a lot of invaluable advice and suggested I shoot one episode as opposed to the few snippets I had in mind. So grateful I listened to them! Although I came up with the writing and overall idea, they added a lot of value by co-writing, and even adding their own actors & concepts to increase the creativity and comedic elements. Aina did an incredible job editing also. I got sooooo many compliments on how beautiful the episode/trailer turned out. All of the feedback I received said they loved the quality and how well put together it was and felt as if they were watching a scripted show on tv. I cannot say this loud enough but my web series episode would not look as amazing as it does without Undercurrent's stellar production value. Highly, highly recommend. Just look at their body of work :) read more

I'm so lucky to have found Undercurrent. Bru and Aina are so nice and accommodating--they've let me come in at 10pm twice now to make a short turn around. They have the very best equipment and the tape always looks so darn good it could pretty much be the finished product! They're also such great readers and give really awesome coaching that truly helps you stand out. Go to them!!!! read more

SOooo I had a major major self-tape due and was referred here a while ago by a friend, I decided to give it a try since he was so enthusiastic and after seeing myself in their quality light set up, background and especially getting direction that improved my scene with things that seriously didn't occur to me, I will definitely be a repeat customer. I've tried them all and yep this is by far the best, all around produces a really attention grabbing self-tape audition....and I like the way they charge too, by the minute! read more

Really excellent place to get coaching before an audition or put your scenes on tape for self-submissions. Bru had wonderful ideas and used video to help me see how my character was translating on tape for my audition. Also, he really create specific focal points and clean transitions between scenes. The prices are very reasonable and the coaching gave me the extra edge I needed to feel confident and prepared. read more

Great direction and feedback, incredible sound and lighting. Phenomenal experience every time. I hate to share them because I don't want my competition upping their game but the reality is - This is THE goto for the professional. read more

I had a last minute taping that I had to get in. I called in the morning of and was able to get an appointment that same morning! They were both super professional and fun with a great attitude. Aina sent me my audition tape within minutes after leaving the studio. I was able to get my tape to my agents the same morning. Great quality, and I was super happy with the results. read more

Aina and Bru at Undercurrent Media are the absolute best when it comes to self-taped auditions. I was so pleased with my audition video, as well as their professionalism while recording my tape. They also give really great suggestions during the taping process that really give you that extra edge up in the competition. They are so great - I cannot emphasize it enough! I will be coming here every time I need a self taped audition! read more

I have so many things to say about these two incredible people, but I'll keep it brief and speak to their expertise and professionalism. I had a huge Series Regular audition today for a Pilot being Executive Produced and Directed by a powerhouse in the industry. I do ALL my self taping with Bru & Aina, so of course, they were my go to folks. Their studio and equipment are perfect, their reads, generous, and their turn around and editing are spot on. They are also fabulous at looking at nuances in your work. The fact that they are super affordable is a huge bonus. Bru even took the time today to choose my five best takes (I had to run) and send them off to the proper people. That's how much I trust them. I just love them. And I adore them as human beings as well. Truer hearts are hard to come by. read more

I've been taping auditions with them for the past few months, and I've noticed that my confidence in prepping and auditioning on camera has really grown. I come to the session more ready to make decisions that will make my audition stand out. Unlike some self-tape studios, Bru and Aina aren't just there to get paid and move you out the door. They are honestly committed to your success and will respectfully suggest ways to heighten your work, if requested. It's affordable, the online booking system is easy to navigate, and they have a quick turnaround! read more

So many great things I could say about Bru and Aina, where to start. First, I am speaking from my experience with them on the production side as I have been fortunate to assist them with some art direction/projects. They are TRUE professionals with such attention to thought and detail which is evident in everything then they do and produce. Second, my husband is a working actor and uses their services for his demo reel, auditions on tape and short productions. WOW, what a difference I have seen since he has gone to them, I feel like they take his work to the next level. Thanks for all you have done, we are loyal fans and patrons! Highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Bru, Aina, and Undercurrent Media!! and i am so embarrassed it has taken me this long to give the review they deserve! In april I had a huge audition that i needed to put on tape and such is fate the friend that i had coming over to help me fell through..i was stuck and had to get something together immediately and ready to upload by the morning...this was a sunday afternoon...a friend of mine had posted on facebook about Undercurrent Media and how great their audition taping services were so on a long shot i looked them up and called hoping to leave a message and get a slot first thing the next morning..to my surprise Bru answered and said I could come over and shoot with them in the next 30 min if i wanted to! the whole experience was fantastic and they did a FABULOUS job shooting, reading with me, directing, editing, and preparing my audition and honestly, it turned out to be a happy accident that the friend fell through because my tape looked amazing...and for $50! I will DEFINITELY be coming back to Undercurrent for more audition tapes, worth every penny! read more

When I clicked on that 5th star, the message popped up "Woohoo! As good as it gets! And the first thing I thought was "WITHOUT A DOUBT". Thats how I felt about my experience here at Undercurrent Media. I have to say that I was blown away by how kind, warm, welcoming and then to top it off and of course the most important thing when you need a great job done...How knowledgeable and professional Bru and Aina were here at UNDERCURRENT MEDIA. They know their business, know what works and what doesn't. They light you well, they have the teleprompter app if you want it, they direct if needed (and they know what they are talking about because this is not their first time at the rodeo) but they were also open to listening to my thoughts and idea, asking what I needed and making the entire visit not only a joy but I ended up with a great product. Great price, great people, great product. What more could you ask for. read more

I was in a real pickle one day. I had a huge audition to tape over the weekend but all the other places were booked or never got back to me. A friend from Audition Technique class, Emma, suggested I try Undercurrent. Firstly, their website was a breeze to navigate. Making an appointment based on your specific time constraints was easy. They confirmed their receipt of my request, confirmed the actual appointment pretty quickly after, and then send a text reminder before the taping on the day of. I took care to send them the sides with anything for them to note before I got there. Parking was a breeze (a huge win in LA), and they were warm and welcoming as soon as I got there. I never felt rushed or overlooked. We really collaborated on the scene. My scene had some pretty intense blocking and we talked then walked through it. The beautiful thing about Aina and Bru having experience both in front of and behind the camera is that they understand what you need as an actor AND what casting needs to see. Taking care of those two concerns in one swoop is a huge blessing. I know I can focus on my craft and still come out looking like a true professional. Their lighting and sound is unparalleled. Everything sounds clear with no interference and I look my best without that weird soft, beauty focus that no one believes. I've taped with them for the rest of 2016 (I want to say an audition every week or two for 6 months) and they are consistently amazing--if not better each time--with the best pricing out there. Their services are worth far more than they are charging but as creatives they want to remain accessible to us actors! As you can tell, I don't write reviews but I really, really trust and admire their energy and services and want so much goodness coming their way. I also believe there is room for us all so go get yourself taped by the best! Happy New Year! read more

I was a little lost when it came to getting a demo-reel made, and putting it completely in the hands of Undercurrent I was Overwhelmed (impressed and relieved) with the final product. I have seen many demo reels, even from working actors and nothing compares to the level of professionalism and the amazing quality of the reel that Undercurrent started for me. They have an intensely creative, keen sense about editing footage and they will do it in your best interest. I have gotten compliments on my reel from casting directors and teachers and friends here in the business and am very grateful to have come here first! I can't wait to have them continue to add to it as I get work! They are the best. Cheers y'all for the great work! read more

Undercurrent is hands down the BEST place I have ever put an audition on tape. I put many auditions on tape and have had to try many different taping facilities in the Los Angeles area, but none compare to the quality, care, and affordability of Undercurrent. They use high end cameras, lighting, and sound equipment which makes a huge difference in the look and feel of all the auditions I put on tape. Also, you get the added bonus of working with two very talented actors at Undercurrent. Bru and Aina, the owners and operators, are both amazing working actors who actually book work off self taped auditions so I trust their feedback and direction when putting my own auditions on tape. If you are still working out your audition scene or are looking for feedback both Bru and Aina are extremely generous with sharing their knowledge and coaching expertise. On top of everything they offer the most affordable prices I've seen for any taping service in Los Angeles and have an easy to use online booking calendar for appointments. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Undercurrent, they really are the best taping service out there!!! read more

Really nice new demo reel place. The quality of the image is great and looks very professional. I had video audition opportunity and Bru was very helpful to read with me and I was very satisfied with the result. After done shooting, he color corrected and edited very neatly and sent me the file via link. I enjoyed the whole experience and I found new place for shooting videos. read more

This is my new favorite place to self-tape! They are SO nice. Booking was easy and everything about the process was extremely professional and well put together. I was able to book online and got texts and emails saying that they had received my request as well as a confirmation. Then the morning of my tape they sent me a reminder text, which was a very nice added touch. I got great direction from Bru who had great insight and was very helpful. The lens they use makes actors look GOOD! They have a nice station for actors to charge their phone. And they use an iPad to read your sides from so you don't have to hear pages turning. Very thoughtful. Also, free valet parking! I mean, come on!!! Can't recommend this place enough. read more

Professional team, great-looking/sounding tape, fast turnaround. Aina and Bru will go above and beyond to make sure you leave with a superior product. I almost don't want to add to their praise, because I know they'll be booked solid soon ;) read more

What can I say about this place!! A friend told me about their video taping service for actors and all I can say is that they do excellent work. The video, sound, and lighting quality are top notch. They are quick and send your video link in a very timely manner. Another thing is they make you feel completely comfortable from the moment you walk through the door. They provide good coaching tips, which you can accept or pass on. They also read with you, or you can bring your own reader. My recommendation is to give them a shot for your next taped audition. read more

Aina and Bru are awesome. They came through for me at the last minute big time. If you need to put yourself on tape I would highly suggest Aina and Bru, not only are they really good at what they do. They are super nice. No need to look elsewhere. read more

This post could be very biased because the founders are two of my closest friends. Having said that I will say when I asked them to work on my reel I wanted something simple and quick and instead they had a discussion with me about how my reel could look better all in HD and edited it in a way that brought out more of my performances and not like I was just someone photobombing the lead cast. Because of my following their lead and subscribing to their vision I feel I have elevated my career and have a renewed sense of excitement about not only what lies ahead for me but what I've accomplished in the past. This is a group worth looking at and speaking with to bring a new dimension to your reel and career. read more
