Awesome pizza. Family friendly restaurant. Hometown feel. People come from all over for this pizza!!!

Another great local business that I support both during the Coronavirus pandemic and normal times. This is our go to pizza place. When we eat in, but don't want to wait we call our order in ahead of time so we can be servers our food shortly after we arrive. This past weekend we brought the pizza to a friends house. They've never had it before, but continued to tell us how good it was. I think Uncle Lar's may have gained another customer! Everyone is very friendly there and it's always the same faces you see working. Great local, family owned pizza place! read more

Excellent beef roll. The pizza was tasty too, but the Italian beef roll, took the show.

The pizza is the best I the area. The staff are real friendly. The owners go out of their way to make sure your satisfied.

An old hometown favorite! Once the original owners sold it everyone expected things to change, but for the most part they kept it the same and added some new things. We love the pizza and beef roll. So delicious! Dine in and carry out. read more

Very friendly and the food was good perfect place for my my son and family. Very clean and the service was great

I am diabetic, I had to give up pizza, but I tried their cauliflower pizza! Tastes amazing! Best I have ever had! Tastes like regular pizza.

By far the best pizza in the area. They haven't changed a thing, still as good as it was 20 years ago. Ask for garlic butter. If you like jalapeños on your pizza, you gotta have uncle lar's. Can't say enough how worth it is to order from here. read more

Try the double dough. I have always been a big fan of their pizza and new owners are super. They have added some new things that are also great. I decided to try the double dough pizza for the first time. OMG it was the best !! The outer crust was like eating homemade bread fresh from the oven. The toppings were perfect as usual with cheese stringing as you pick it up. Definitely the best pizza anywhere !! read more

The pizza here is delicious. We tried it for the first time last weekend and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection too.

Update on Uncle Lars Pizza in Plano. Now under new, more customer friendly ownership, much to everyone's delight I am sure. Pizza as tasty as always, still pricey, but worth it on occasion. Now, I don't feel like I'm bothering the help when I pick up my pizza. read more

I'm not sure what the new owners do different if anything but, I ordered a pizza tonight and the crust was absolutely perfect. I've had their pizza before and it was good but this time the crust was perfect! 5 stars! read more

We tried their pizza and breadsticks for the first time. We were very surprised you delivered to Grande Reserve in Yorkville. The food was delivered super fast, in about an hour. The delivery man was extremely friendly! The food was hot and delicious! They have us hooked, they are now our families' new pizza place :) Excellent food and service! read more

First time I tried it last night .... pizza was ok unfortunately all three pizzas had the wrong ingredients on them. When you spend over $60 it stings a little... read more

By far the best pizza around! Try the beef roll so delicious! Great service and quick delivery!

I ordered a cheese, green pepper & black olive pizza. This is the first pizza I've had since the new owners took over. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It was very tasty. I'll order from here again soon. read more

I was told by so many people this place is sooooo good and I HAD to try it. I will say the people there are very friendly but the pizza was terrible. My husband and I LOVE pizza and never let it go to waste but sadly this pizza was a waste. I duno if its because we got mushrooms and they used canned mushrooms put the pizza didnt even smell good. I love the pizza at Maciano's in Yorkville MUCH better. I had to try Uncle Lars but now I know not to go back. read more

My wife in I tried Uncle Lars after several people recommended their pizza. The pizza was EXCELLENT (plenty of cheese, great flavor, and cooked perfectly) ... unfortunately the service was the worst we have had at any restaurant we have ever been to. When we approached the counter, the employee seemed like we were a nuisance. After the pizza came out, we needed our drinks refilled and there was no employee in sight. I walked to the counter and it took several minutes before I even saw an employee, and again they seemed put off that I needed their help. When we were ready to leave, I again approached the counter to pay ... this time I could see an employee sitting behind the glass partition looking at their cell phone ... but again it took several minutes to get their attention, and again it seemed like they were frustrated that we were taking up their time! If we do business again, it will be strictly on a pick up/delivery basis ... and we are undecided if we want to support a business that has such poor service. read more

Best pizza I have ever had its my person favorite sweeter sauce only thin crust the only reason I can't give it 5 stars is poor customer service but when ur the best pizza around u don't need to. read more

I was in search of a new good pizza place when I found Uncle Lars. I thought their pizza tasted pretty good. It also was cool that they were part of the new super man movie! I would def. go back again. read more

Just revised my review to 1-star. Why? This restaurant now applies a $3 surcharge if you pay with a credit card. I realize credit cards can cost the merchant but this is part of the cost of doing business. $3? They are now making a PROFIT on the credit card charges plus their pizza is not cheap to begin with. Unfortunately I will not be going back here. Too many other pizza joints that appreciate my business. These people deliver a great pizza. Good sausage flavor. Lots of cheese. Plus they will cook it the way you request with cheese NOT browned. Highly recommended. read more

I've been eating this pizza for over 20 years. After reading another post that this place has new owners and the pizza has changed, I had to see for myself. I thought it tasted the same as it always has. Delicious! Tasted like the Same sauce and crust that they've always had. While picking up I saw they now deliver to my area which is a plus! Gave 4 starts because their largest pizza is a medium and most other places so I have to buy multiple pizzas to feed my family and it's a little pricey. But since it's good I don't mind spending a little extra. read more

Really have some good memories as my ex and I used to eat here often via take out. Once there was a softball team who took up the dining room but we made it work. We'd always like ranch with our pizza. Fun times. read more

Local legend in the town of Plano. Try the thin crust pepperoni.

I was hoping this place would be more like my fav pizza place from where I grew up, or just better than what's available in the area. My hopes were high and I couldn't have been more disappointed. The pizza was WAY overpriced for the finished product. I wouldn't have minded the cost if it had actually tasted good. It was my mistake for not making sure they used fresh mushrooms (canned stinky crap is what came on our pizza). Crust had no flavor, no crisp and now chew. My only positives were the dining room is charming and the staff are very pleasant. read more

AWESOME. Uncle Lar's pizza and cheesy breadsticks were absolutley amazing. I recently moved up here and missed the great hometown taste of our local pizza joints. I finally found this GREAT pizza place only miles away! Def. would recommed to others, great pizza, wonderful staff with smiles. read more

I ordered this pizza for the 1st time in about a year. It tasted excellent. I would argue this is the best pizza by far in the area. Someone said it changed owners recently? If so...props to the new owners. read more

I will start off by saying the pizza was really good ! I was satisfied with the quality and the amount of toppings. However I was VERY dissatisfied with the price to size ratio ... My "large" pizza was over $20 and it was no bigger than an average medium !!! I don't mind paying a little more for a better product but seriously... I also ordered a small pizza as well and the size of that was fine but again way over priced ! read more

Love this place. Super thin crust, sweet sauce and tons of toppings. They cut the square pieces super tiny so you feel like you are barely eating anyting. The only downfall is that the largest pizza they make is 14" I believe and it is pretty pricey. It is so thin that you need a decent amount to feel satisfied. The flavor and quality of the pizza is well worth it though. read more

Great Pizza.. Good sauce.. Only problem we have with it is its a TAD Pricey compared to other Pizza places.. but for a treat now and then.. its awesome!! read more

lar's was good, but i think they messed with the sauce recipe too much.

We live in Montgomery and drive to Plano just for their pizza. Best pizza I have ever had. Sauce is sweet and you can taste the olive oil in the crust. read more

Giving three stars based on the pizza alone. Customer service and attitude leaves something to be desired. I picked up a pizza tonight shortly before 9:00 on a Friday and got home only to find out the order was completely wrong. Tried calling back FIVE TIMES and nobody answered. Mind you their website clearly reads that they stay open until 10:00pm on Friday and Saturdays. Since I live in town, I decided to drive back and see what was going on, come to find they're closed. It was 9:10. One of the employees let me in, confused. The owner reluctantly gave me my money back, since they apparently weren't going to make another pizza. I pointed out to them they may want to change their hours on their website....very poor customer service. I'll most likely be back, since I've never had an incorrect order up until now, but just a heads up - either change your hours or change what's listed on the website. read more

Excellent pizza! A little pricy but it was worth it. The sauce is on the sweeter side which is a plus.
