TJ Banning (the owner of this location along with others) gave no one a notice that everyone at the Mendota location would be be losing their jobs. People had come into work and started to prep for their shift when they were sent home and told that the business is closed. Instead of having a meeting and informing staff members, he decided to make a Facebook post telling everyone he'd be mailing their checks. Then a post was immediately made to the public and then turned off comments on their post and deleted all negative ones that made them look bad. Since it's strictly a financial decision that affected many people's livelihood, I'm asking that you reconsider giving this average tasting and over priced pizza restaurant your money. He struggled since Covid and couldn't financially recover so instead of communicating that with anyone in the Mendota location he closed without notice. In this economy he left countless families unable to know where their source of income was going to come from to be able to pay their bills. UNPROFESSIONAL. The pizza and breadsticks were bland. The kitchen staff has been dropping the F bomb so loud and so often that we something to the front of house staff. Even then, they continued. Other customers waited 15 minutes with no staff to help them. Not sure how this place stays open. read more

Although the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza was truly remarkable (it was my first time experiencing such a thing), the Ceasar salad ended up giving me a pretty bad stomach ache the next day. It was just that much worse that I had a flight home. For the pizza, as mentioned, it was delicious. Truly out of this world. Rosatis in Sandwich IL continues to go down hill. We ordered spaghetti and pizza, pizza was actually alittle better then the last time we ordered (over a year ago) and why it was that long ago is because the ingredients on the pizza could have been cut down in size... especially the onions. They seemed to be a quarter size of the onion and thats what was on the pizza. This time the ingredients were somewhat manageable but still could have cut back on alot of it since it made the pizza soggy and you really could only eat one piecr. As for the spaghetti... or should I say Holy Garlic- that is all I can say about that. This place was once incredible but sadely that is no longer the case. I usually enjoy coming here, and just popping in for a slice and walking back home. However, as of recently, the last three times I came in here, the ladies in front have had a very poor attitude. No smiles, no greetings, no recommendations. I went in yesterday with my husband. My husband wanted a slice, I ordered nothing. As soon as we walked through the door, the blonde at the register let out a groan, like we were putting a cramp in her day. Didn't even say thank you. These employee's need a serious attitude adjustment. I tried to make one of them smile by making friendly chatter. When I asked how their day was, one didn't respond, the other told me it was none of my business. I did a little dork dance, trying to get a smile. My family always chooses this location for our pizza needs. The food always tastes great, but Chicagoland pizza is always on the expensive side. My complaint about this location is the customer service. When picking up a pizza, the behind the counter staff was mid-chew while taking our payment. There were two employees having dinner at the same time and put the customers second. I understand that staff needs to eat... But maybe take turns and have the other give attention to the customers. The last time we ordered the food arrived quickly, even during an ice storm. The fried shrimp was superb. The fried veggie sampler was doughy. So far the only unhappy experience from Rosati's in Sandwich was the veggie sampler, but it did have to travel in a steamy box. This is our new replacement for Richie's of Yorkville which closed last year. After 3 hrs called and was told online system wasn't working., although she was able to find my order once she looked, and I received my confirmation email, and was charged just fine.Was told they could make it and send it out, which I didn't have time for, or they could void my order and keep my money for 7-10 business days and there was nothing else they could do.
