We went to Uncle G's today in recommendation of a friend. Restaurant was clean and we were greeted…read morepromptly. They specialize in New York style pie and Detroit Pan style! Their varied specialties pizzas were available in both styles. Since it was our first time, we wanted to try a variety, so we chose the two slice and a drink special for lunch. I grabbed a New York cheese slice and a Detroit pepperoni. My wife chose a Figgie and a Margherita New York Slice. Nice thin and crispy New York crust, great undercarriage! Detroit was light and thick with excellent frico edge. Sauce was slightly sweet with nice flavor. Cheese was melted nicely with slight caramelization. The Figgie had fig jam, prosciutto, goat cheese, arugula and a balsamic drizzle! It was out of this world! I use figs and prosciutto on my pizza at home but never seen in at a restaurant. Highly recommend! Staff was attentive and answered questions about their Detroit style hydration. Apparently all dough is made daily in house each morning. Restaurant was large, but they had several areas blocked off. Only two available tables for dine in. Not sure if they had an event later that day or not. Daily specials are listed on the menu and all you can eat buffet is on Thursdays. Would highly recommend! Will definitely be back!!

So we ordered a supreme pizza and we're recommended the deep dish cheesbread. We found out the buffet was discontinued as well so we were a little sad about that. They were extremely kind the entire time and explained it all to us. We waited about 15 minutes and it was absolutely delicious to eat! I loved the supreme pizza and the cheesebread was fantastic. The ambiance of the place was nice and had chill music going in the background. They also have food trucks out hear Hop City as well and we were recommended to try that sometime too! We loved it and will come back again. If you are in town, this place and must try!

We have been here forever and Salvatore's has been here forever...yet somehow this is the first…read moretime we have been here! It won't be the last though. It's a small restaurant that includes a small outdoor covered area with more tables. We only got a medium thin crust cheese pizza to go this time. It maintained it's crisp and was very good. We also got some marinara to dip the crust in, and that was super flavorful. We will be back and eat in next time. I want to try their eggplant parm! People were nice and food came out quick.

A quick heads up: they love to feed you garlic bread here. Not knowing it was already included with my meal, I also ordered the garlic bread appetizer. I ended up with almost two whole loaves to myself. It was a bit much for one person, but it was very tasty. The main event arrived steaming hot, which is always a massive plus. The meatballs were incredibly tender and exactly what I was looking for. My only minor critique is that the spaghetti was a bit overcooked and leaned towards mushy, whereas I usually prefer it al dente. Even so, it absolutely satisfied the craving. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, right on the edge of a good dive status, which I really enjoyed. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm traveling through the Birmingham area.

Not my first time here! You will wait awhile to receive your order, but it is so worth it!…read more The entire place feels like you're stepping into a rustic, but modern Italian pizzeria! They have a bar and it has an amazing variety. No bar stools to sit by the bar because it's more their marketplace for the pizzeria bc they sell wines by the bottles and other goods and groceries! They have a water fountain which is so good because trails are nearby. The staff here were incredibly attentive and they were quick! Plenty of seating outdoors and indoors. They have large tables so if you have a party of more than 5 you can easily seat them here. It exceptional service! The pizza is so good and I definitely wanna try more on the menu! Will be coming back!

We had a pretty negative experience with the food itself at our recent visit to Vecchia…read more To give credit where it's due, if you know Neapolitan-style pizza, they get the crust right. It's exactly what it's supposed to be: soft, chewy, and pliable with wood-fired leopard spotting on the edges. It is definitely not an American thin-and-crispy style, so don't expect a crunch. However, the kitchen was INCREDIBLY STINGY with the execution. I ordered a Margherita pizza, and it arrived with maybe three tiny, shriveled leaves of basil for the entire pie. Look at the picture....For a classic pizza that relies so heavily on fresh aromatics, having it virtually absent was a letdown. We also tried the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was a total miss. When it arrived at the table, it wasn't bubbling at all and already looked dry. There weren't much spinach or artichoke inside; instead, it was mostly a mixture cream cheese and sour cream. To make matters worse, while the top cheese was browned, there were spots inside that were downright cold. It was clearly pre-made, refrigerated, and rushed out before being heated through. Because it lacked actual vegetables and proper heating, the flavor profile was just unpleasantly sour and tangy. The bones of a great pizzeria are here, but the lack of consistency, stingy toppings, and poorly prepped appetizers really hurt the meal.

We placed an online order at 2pm for an 8pm pickup since I was flying back and wanted everything timed properly. Around 5:30pm, my wife called to see if we could adjust pickup slightly earlier (~7:50pm), and they couldn't even find the order. After multiple holds spanning ~15mins on the phone, accusatory remarks of not placing the order at the right location, she was eventually told it would be ready at 8pm as scheduled and they could not accommodate the ~10min modification. No big deal, this was a Friday night, we get it. When she arrived right at 8pm, the order still wasn't ready, and staff seemed unsure what was going on. This was after we had already called to confirm it. Then we were told the system doesn't "trigger" the order until the scheduled time, which doesn't make much sense if you're offering timed pickups. In the end, the pizza didn't come out until about 30 minutes late for no clear reason. Really disappointing experience overall because the food itself was solid, but the breakdown in the ordering system and communication left a pretty sour impression.
