Came here since we were in the area and wanted to try something new, after reading the reviews - decided to give it a try... When you walk in there's plenty of seating and the menu is pretty much a variety of hot dogs, wings or fish specials. We ordered a chili dog, sauerkraut dog, Mac and cheese and fried pickles. The chili dog had cheese on it, and if you're from Detroit - you know a chilly dog is supposed to be just chili and some onions. Next the sauerkraut dog had a literal sprinkle of sauerkraut and a dot of mustard. The fried pickles were just one pickle speared into three small pieces and the fry on them was burnt. Came in today and got the rib tip dinner , came with 2 sides ! I got the yams and baked beans . Honestly I don't know why this place isn't getting more business. Everything was good and the customer service was good as well . I hear their catfish is really good so next time I will have to try it ! Would definitely recommend though if you're in the area and want something good to eat . read more

I had the Chicago dog and it was delicious. A tiny bit pricey for hot dogs but not enough to keep me away.

During our Battle Creek adventure my husband and I got peckish so we stopped by Uncle Dogs for some hot dogs. I got the Chicago dog (minus tomato because I dislike tomato) while my husband got a mac & cheese dog and fries. After we ordered we sat for a bit and waited for our food, which only took about 5 minutes. My husband said his hot dog was a lot better than he expected, which I will call a win. Mine was a little too done in my opinion. They did the whole cut the hot dog down the middle and you could tell it was black around the edges and looked a little scrunched. It was still good, but just a touch too done. I did love the diner feel of the restaurant and the sports memorabilia scattered around the restaurant. The menu was simple, well priced and the food was decent. If you're looking for a quick bite, Uncle Dogs won't break the bank and is definitely quick. I am sure I'll be back. read more

Very good Coney Dogs. I ordered 2, but could only eat one due to its size. The sauce was delicious, I had shredded cheese as a choice, and the bun was tasty. The menu looks good and I'll have to come back and try other items. You can dine in, or grab some take out. Service was friendly and fast. I will be coming back in the future. read more

You can custom order your dog as well if you want. Big hot dogs, I thought it was a sausage, but my guess is all beef dogs. Really clean inside, friendly staff, plenty of seating. Fries were good, they also have fried pickles, a cat fish sammich. I will be back to try some other hot dog combos out. Could turn into a regular lunch spot. I had a hard time deciding between all the hot dog options, so I tried the mushroom and onion dog, which was recommended by one of the staff members. I wasn't expecting it to be so good! Wanted to try this place long before Serious Dogs opened their brick & mortar location, but somehow never got around to it until now. It'll be hard not to compare this to Serious Dogs - they're minutes from each other and have the same core product! I feel like Uncle Dogs has the right price point for hot dogs ($4). Solid beef dog with good tasty toppings. I got a Coney and a Chicago on this trip, and both were good. Serious Dogs wins the bun competition with their buttery New England roll, but Uncle Dogs gave me 2 dogs for $8, which is a better value than Serious Dogs. Uncle Dogs has some vintage charm, and also sells wings and ice cream (which I'll have to try on another visit). All in all, I'm giving both spots 4 stars, but would give Uncle Dogs a slight advantage for their better pricing. read more

I stopped by today to get a hot dog, I made my order and was asked for my phone number. I said I only wanted to by a hot dog and shouldn't need a phone number to buy a hot dog. I was told it was their policy and without a phone number I couldn't buy the hot dog. This is ridiculous, I left without buying from them went to Serious Dogs had a great hot dog and no mention of a phone number. read more

If you haven't been to Uncle Dogs you are really missing out on some GREAT FOOD. We have went 2 different times, both time were excellent. The food was great, the environment is unique (bonus points for the marvel art in the mens bathroom!), and I didn't have to wait too long- my only- and big complaint is the pricing- almost $5 for a hotdog that's not even a foot long? I could go down the street to Dairy Queen and get a chili cheese dog for $2... and a few of the items are priced on the higher side. I just had the mushroom dog and it was pretty tasty. It's a cool, affordable place to eat but bring cash they don't take credit cards. My husband got the Mac and cheese dog and he liked it. I am hoping to try the wings next go around but I don't keep a lot of cash on hand. Fast, friendly service with a good variety of hot dog styles. The hot dog meat and style of cook gives you a delicious main dish. Crinkle cut fries are good and standard. I had the coney dog while my wife had the mushroom dog. Mushroom dog is the winner head to head. Definitely worth another trip, but remember to bring cash! For years the only hot dog option for me besides roller dogs was The Varsity and Nu-way Weiners. I looked so forward to finding a place like this, got back here and poof they are all gone. Thank god I found Uncle Dogs while I was in Battle Creek. Best hot dog hands down EVER! This is a 'REAL' old school place. Awesome prices, every single ingredient tasted fresh, real, not out of a can, the dog itself is delicious, the bun...old school sports posters on the walls, I'm starting to wish I lived in Battle Creek just so I could eat here every day! I had a mushroom dog, mac and cheese dog, and frito dog. First I planned to eat while on the road back home, and take pics of the dogs. Did neither one, as soon as I took a bite of the first one I had to pull off and eat all of them. Couldn't stop long enough to take pics. So delicious, the toppings alone could be a meal or side dish, a plain hot dog by itself would be freaking awesome. And the total came to under $10!!! I can't wait to try the fries next time i'm there. Luckily I have to go to Battle Creek semi-often. The staff was awesome too! I wish I would've gotten the guy's name who gave me the order. We had the coney island dog. The sauce was sweet, not used to a sweet coney island dog. The hotdog had a slightly mushy texture.

Great place to stop in for a quick dog to go or sit in! Not huge seating, room for about 25 to 30 people. But compared when this place was Juicy. Huge step up. Very good food here! Staff was friendly and the restaurant is clean. You think, "it's a hot dog restaurant. How good could it be?", but they do something special in here. Tons of varieties, mac & cheese dogs, coneys, burger dogs, mushroom dogs, etc + Crinkle cut fries and wings. Haven't had the wings but someone ordered them and they looked and smelled good.
