Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

From the very beginning, Chef Manoj was professional, responsive, and provided great communication throughout the entire planning process. Having Chef Manoj prepare the dinner in our home allowed us to relax, enjoy our guests, and really take in the celebration without having to worry about the meal. It felt like having friends in the kitchen, adding warmth to the whole experience. They used classic techniques with unique touches that brought out everything we asked for. The five-course pairing dinner was unforgettable. The first course, a shrimp dish in a delicate white wine and garlic sauce, reimagined a classic tapas with a lighter, fresher twist. The burrata with fig jam on ciabatta, elevated by hot honey and tarragon, was perfection. The cod, paired with an ultra-smooth potato purée and a surprising onion jam, was a revelation, especially with the kalamata olives and capers. The fourth course, a crispy chicken thigh with saffron-chorizo risotto, brought smoky, rustic depths, and the chicken was perfectly crusted and juicy. Finally, the classic crème brûlée was a flawless finish--simple, elegant, and pure. This unforgettable evening combined top-notch cooking with a personal, relaxed touch that made the whole dinner feel truly special.

What a wonderful venue for a wedding!…read more The owners were incredible! They really know what they are doing! They made the planning for my daughter in-law's wedding so easy. They are seasoned event hosts, and they live on site. They have also assembled lists of caterers, DJ's and event planners that they have worked with in the past. The venue is an Amish style barn built specifically for hosting events. The main barn is airy and bright, and very clean. The downstairs is set up to host a cocktail hour, has dressing rooms for bridal parties, and restrooms. It is also the only space that has air conditioning. The venue, though, did have big barn doors and fans to move the air. I was happy to say that despite temperatures near 90 outside, it was quite comfortable inside. They have plenty of chairs and tables for, I think, up to 200 guests. They leave it up to the renters for set up, take down, and cleanup. They do provide containers for trash during and after the event. Outdoors, the barn is in the middle of rolling farmland and orchards. The wedding was held under an outdoor arbor, under a shade tree, and looking out to green pasture, farms, and orchards. The evening had a special treat... thousands upon thousands of fireflies! OMG! The perfect ending to a perfect June wedding!

I ordered the Brisket platter with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The Brisket was incredibly dry and I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant. I wouldn't have been upset if my bill was $10, but it was $17. That's DC prices at a sit down restaurant. Unfortunately, I have to say this was one of the most disappointing meals that I've had in a long time. At least the staff were nice :)

I came across Bob's Big Beef and Barbeque, so instead of letting the trip go to waste, i decided to sample some bbq. The following is a summary of my experience: I had about 4 to 5 people on front of me, but the line moved quick. I put my order in, the service was friendly, and I was happy that I had the option to eat there at one of the outdoor tables. The food: Of course, I went with the standard brisket sandwich with mac&cheese, and baked beans. I feel this is a fundamental in bbq and if this is not executed properly there is no reason to try anything else. PROS: Meat was moist and juicy, and the portion was generous. The bun may have been scratch-made, or from a local bakery. I am not certain but if it is store-bought it is of high quality. BBQ sauce was sweet and tasted good The portions of the sides were also generous, and the combo included a 12oz soda. Cons: While the meat was juicy, it had a blandness to it. I could have drowned it in sauce, but I believe there should be a balance in the flavor of the meat and the flavor of the bbq sauce. You may have different tastes. BBQ baked beans tasted like pork n beans from the can...but, not the good brand. they were topped with a small amount of chopped brisket which did not enhance the canned flavor. Mac and cheese was overcooked, and again the "cheese" tasted bland like it was a premade mix I finished the sandwich, but only ate a portion of the sides. This is uncommon for me at a bbq joint. Thanks for taking the time to read, if you decide to sample Bob's big beef (I didn't notice how this beef is "bigger" than any other bbq place I have been to) I hope you have a good experience.

Every transition was seamless Our guests were blown away at the beauty of the venue and the quality of service,, such a wonderful event space!

This is a long review, simply because there is plenty of good things to be said about Jordan…read moreSprings and its staff (and if you've looked at other websites and see my same review, yes I am reposting it intentionally because people need to set their sights on this venue!). I got married here on April 19, 2025 and we had so many guests come from far away states. Jordan Springs made their long distance travel well worth it because everyone had such a blast. And I'm not just saying this from a biased perspective of a newlywed. We had guests uploading pictures and videos of the venue even days after the wedding, reminiscing about it. We had guests come up to us during the reception and after the wedding to compliment all of the wedding festivities and the venue itself. And we had at least 6 guests that danced in public for the first time (really, almost everyone was dancing). It was that good. My husband and I were extremely nervous leading up to the wedding because we had done all the planning remotely via e-mail with Colt and we just didn't know what to expect. Once you book with them, you are given a wedding planning binder that gives you an overview of all the things you need to think about. We always hear horror stories about the stresses of wedding planning, but this wasn't our experience. It was so straightforward that it made us question if we were doing it right. But it really was that easy. We did not have to pay thousands for a one-off coordinator, as Colt and the Jordan Springs team do the coordinating for you. We didn't have to pester our bridal and groom party to help with decorations and preparations because Jordan Springs handled this for us. As soon as you book with Jordan Springs the detail is already followed to the tee, and your vision truly comes to life the day of. This attention to detail continues until the wedding festivities are officially over and as bride and groom you will be extremely spoiled. The JS team have the whole wedding day down to a science, literally talking on radios to coordinate so things go as seamlessly as possible. Colt is extremely mindful, especially, of the bride's experience and he will ensure that you and your groom eat, and do the right romantic things in picture perfect moments. I have never seen such a careful, impeccable group of people work together to make someone else's day extra special. At the end of it all, because we had an amazing package for our day, we ended up paying significantly less than your average wedding cost and it honestly felt like we should have paid more for that experience. We definitely got our money's worth and more! If any of the negative "helpful" reviews on here from years ago scare you, it shouldn't. Colt is an extremely transparent, super easy person to work with and treats his clients with lots of courtesy and respect. We bombarded him with questions about finances and wedding planning details throughout planning and he gave us honest, detailed answers. Trust me there will not be anything underhand. And I am certain that they look at these reviews and have since made everything more efficient/transparent, because we never ran into any trouble with JS, not to mention that some of the negative feedback is from lack of research/common sense. If you are uncertain about payment breakdown, wedding lingo, or how they go about planning your wedding, ASK. Visit the venue and don't think twice. Book it!
