Staff was very friendly, but this isn't something I'd order for myself. Food is very pricey for its quantity, and it is very sweet/salty. The three little piggies are packed with sugar and I had to eat food from another store to balance out the flavors. The target audience for this food truck is probably those that enjoy small portions of very sweet and salty food. Just note that the quantity probably won't satisfy the hunger of most adults. read more

Tried out the Truck today and was disappointed. Came to a brewery and they were 1 of 2 trucks serving food. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and 3 tacos which would typically come with a choice of pulled pork, brisket, and mushrooms. I am giving them a chance because it seems like they were just not prepared and maybe asked to be here last minute. They did not have the mushroom tacos available. I also bought the street corn as well. When I got my tacos, I was really excited to eat them. However, the brisket was so salty that I was not able to take more than one bite out of the two tacos that were brisket. I did manage to eat the pulled pork, however Definitely not enough meat on that taco. The brussels sprouts were fried with a perfect char and we're soaking in a balsamic syrup. These were probably the best thing on the truck that was available. They also sold fried Oreos however they were not prepared to make them and so they were not available. The street corn tasted really sour, and I'm thinking it's because they might have used a concentrated lemon instead of a fresh lemon. I was not able to eat them. Overall, I spent about 60 bucks on this truck and wasn't able to eat more than half of it. Because it's a food truck I'm not able to really describe much of the ambience however it was parked outside of the brewery where they were parked at, but that doesn't work against them. I'm willing to try them again, I'm guessing with the 4 1/2 stars that they have they're probably really good when they're actually prepared. read more

Unfortunetly didnt get much of a bbq fix from Al's "BBQ". Got pulled pork sandwhich and cowboy fries with brisket in top. Now i've had my fair share of texas bbq and try to be reasonable when seeing bbq anywhere else. But man this was more crockpot meat with bbq sauce slapped on it. No smokiness to anything, no bbq flavor. Doesnt even smell like theres a grill going walking up. The cheese on the cowboy fries wasnt even melted and the fries weren't warm up to melt them. Going to have to pass next time they're at Broujiwest. They get a couple stars cause they hook it up with the meat. 3/5 not fat boi recommended read more

Loaded cowboy fries were very good but a bit too much for me. The shredded cheese, cheese sauce, bbq sauce AND aioli was wild. I felt the cheese sauce wasn't necessary since there was already real cheese. I would have preferred just having extra shredded cheese and have it melted more than the cheese sauce. But I split it with my friend and she loved the cheese sauce! It was $18 then an additional $5 for the meat which I find to be over priced for some loaded fries. I've had larger portions for cheaper. It was a quick turn around time and the service was nice. The biscuit fried Oreos had to be one of the best fried Oreos I've ever had! The fruity pebbles and powdered sugar was just right and not too much. I'd like to try their downtown dog but that also seemed overpriced to me. read more

Uncle Al's BBQ is my favorite food truck in LA. I've had food from Al's a couple times, and everything has been fantastic. I want to try the whole menu. I've had the Motha' Cluckers (wings), the Cowboy Fries, the Downtown Dog, and the Three Little Piggies (pulled pork sliders), and each item has been amazing. We caught their food truck at First Fridays on Abbott Kinney and tried the "Big Bad Wolf" " 3 Little Piggies" "Spice Wedges" And "street corn" ( which blew my mind). Staff was friendly and was explaining their items for me. Ordered cow boy fries ($16), and I asked if the portion is big as I am considering to add brisket (+$5). Staff told me that portion is big and good enough for 2 people even if I do not add brisket. I ordered the regular cowboy fries without adding the brisket. When I received my order. My fries was half filled the to go box. It is barely enough for myself. I was still hungry after I finished the whole thing. The fries tasted very good, and the bacon was very crispy. Had the wedges and breaded wings from This bbq truck and let me say nothing about this truck is truly bbq. No bbq ribs? ......really? I'm sorry you can call your self a bbq truck with no bbq ribs available lol Nothing was sizzling from inside the food truck So at this point I was a little hesitant to order but I'm already here so why not. The breaded wings were good portion size but you can taste the oil from the fryer typically means it was time for a change of oil. The bbq sauce was def store bought. The hot sauce was packaged hot sauce. Not impressed thus far. The wedges were decent but how can you get that wrong. Went to the food street cinema during the holiday event and uncle Al's BBQ was there and I decide to get the truffle Mac and cheese and the mother clucker wings. The wings were tasty enough but wasn't anything special. The mac and cheese was disappointing, it was like having a very creamy version of Kraft Mac and cheese with truffle oil mixed into it and it was extremely too salty for my taste. Excellent all across the board. Me and my wife were looking to get out of the house on a Friday night, but wanted to keep things fairly casual. We remembered that the Grub Fest Food Trucks were going on Friday nights in Granada Hills, so we decided to make a trip down here. They had some excellent trucks out this round, and this was one of them. What I can say right off the bat is their attention to detail and the quality of their ingredients is too notch. I ordered the pork sliders and the baked beans. When picking up my order, they were nice enough to give me a order of the truffle mac and cheese on the house! Nice touch! I really enjoyed my sliders. Definitely packed with flavor. The baked beans were the standout dish for me; great texture, taste, and really filling. I liked the flavor of the mac & cheese, but it was definitely more on the creamier side. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food tonight! So normally I like to post food pictures with my reviews but this place was sooooo good and I was so hungry that I gobbled up my brisket tacos and totally forgot about my Yelp review! I'll have to repost pix when I eat from this truck again! The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The chipotle sauce and some other sauce was amazing and mixed so well with the flour tortillas and queso fresco. I could have easily eaten 5 of these tacos but thank God the order comes with just 3 and they are a good size. The hubster ordered the spiced wedges and big bad wolf sandwich which is the brisket sandwich. He really liked it and it looked so good I'll have to order it for myself next time. Great portion of fries that the hubster didn't even complain about me stealing some It took a little while to get our order but it was busy and so totally worth the wait! I am so glad my community brought them over for our food truck night event! Can't wait to try other stuff from the menu soon! read more

The food was great, don't get me wrong. But their food made me and my friends sick! I'd gone to the truck before and had no problems, but last night at WhatTheTruck, all of us got sick. We even ordered different things. We all got mild fever and GI problems the next day, and we didn't eat at any other place together. Teach your employees how to wash their hands or make sure the food is safe! I was the girl in the orange pants and the rollerskates. Downtown Dog!! I love this dog almost as much as I love my own sweet Lab! Ordered from the truck at a concert in Woodland Hills, this sausage was cradled in a delicious bun and slathered in delight! It hit all the marks of what umami is supposed to be! The sausage was juicy and had that "bite" to the skin, the proportion of peppers and onions was spot on, the crispy bacon bits were a delight and the bun held up to the weight of the ingredients. We ordered almost one of everything on the menu. I can't decide which dish I like the most so I am just going to say I love it all!!! Everything is super flavorful. The chicken was very tender inside and crunchy on the outside. The mushroom tacos were really good and sautéed in something really good. The sliders were juicy and bomb AF. I ate 2 of those. Wow! The food was amazing. Took the family here for dinner tonight and everything we ordered was top notch. I had the chicken which was a perfect sweet/crunch with the white bbq sauce, my son had the truffle Mac which was super cheesy and had the perfect seasoning, and I took some of my wife's loaded wedges which were delicious. Variety is very interesting however my diet doesn't let me eat most of it. Broke down and had sliders, bun and all, very good choice. Could have been the best pulled pork sliders I've had. Just wish they'd offer up some paleo keto friendly stuff. read more

Hanging out @ Paperback Brewery today, came across Uncle Al's BBQ. Their Crispy Brussel Sprouts are DELICIOUS! Crispy, yet tender with an amazing sweet tangy, Cherry Vinegar like syrup. The Beef Tacos were also very good, with tender beef & smoky Salsa, nice twist with the little flour tortillas.
