I have never been to a gym where I look forward to coming back the next day. I started with the…read morefree week and only missed one day. From the outside, it can be a bit intimidating since it's all dark. But when you walk in, you realize that the all black aesthetic makes it look very classy and clean. On the right hand side, the wall says, "Culture Builds Community;" but it's not just a belief. The couple who runs the business, Pam and Jason, are very intentional in bringing the belief to life. In my first week there, I felt very welcome, and part of the group. They do a good job of creating tough, but fun workouts that work the entire body. I am someone who likes working out with others to feel motivated, and I am also someone who is most productive when I am not doing the same thing for too long. Each class follows the same structure where there are about 6-8 stations, each lasting about 5 minutes each. Each workout is very different, and there is always great music playing in the background. Before starting, they go through each workout and during the class, go around and make any corrections in your form which is very helpful in avoiding injuries / maximizing gain. There is a bathroom, but sadly no bubbler (or water fountain if you aren't a Rhode Islander). But, to make up for it, they do have a dog that roams around the gym. She is the cutest, but I am envious of her when she is relaxing while we're all sweating. Currently, their unlimited pass is $125/mo., 10 classes is $165, or single drop-in classes are $20 each. From what I have observed, they do offer personal training, but it might be more expensive. I would highly recommend giving them a try

Scott has been my trainer since October 2015, and this review is long overdue…read more Personally, I was always a big skeptic about personal trainers for the longest time, for a few different reasons: 1) They are expensive 2) Do not always customize the program based on where you are mentally are in the process 3) Boring, routine... workout 4) Felt funny working with a trainer in a public gym Scott is none of these things. Since my initial orientation with him, he heard my needs; why I needed a personal trainer and what my goals were. I have accountability issues when it comes to exercise, hence I realized I needed a trainer that just doesn't let me off the hook easily and doesn't make me do routine workouts ( threadmills, the same boring things over and over, etc.) I have yet to repeat any of my workouts with Scott. They never are boring. He is a motivator but not a drill Sargent, he manages to keep my mind busy and 60 minutes fly by. He also gives his clients his undivided attention IN HIS OWN PERSONAL GYM...where you can focus on your goals free from distractions you have a public gyms. I work out with Scott 3 times a week in his very clean, very organized private gym. If you are looking for a personal trainer that actual cares about health/wellness/fitness and his clients. Look no further. I am very lucky to have found him. A hidden gem for sure and I hope to continue my personal training adventure with Scott for as long as my mind and body will allow. It has made a major impact in my life for the good!

She is a career dancer, so it's not like other places where a fitness instructor just takes a few certification classes. Because of her experience, she is great at explaining how to move and hold your body and how to correct your form. With a maximum class size of 5 - 6, you will have as close to personal training as you can get. The space itself is also top notch. The whole gym has a luxe feel and the studio is small but airy and bright. Between the nice facilities and unique classes, they offer a lot that you won't find anywhere else.

To be…read morehonest, I'm not sure it's something they actively seek clients for, but since I live a block away and work from home it worked out well. I can tell this gym is focused on personal training and from the reviews looks like 5 stars there as well. But back to the part-time membership - worth every penny. Because they are a personal training gym, we usually always had the place to ourselves which I ended up really, really liking. When I was in fantastic shape, going to the regular gym was nothing, but when you've got some extra pounds to shed, having a nearly private space was amazing. I was concerned that because it was a personal training gym a trainer would eventually come up and try to sell me on some sessions, but that didn't happen. Unlike larger gyms I've been to! Also because they are personal training, you have just about every piece of free-weight/aerobic equipment that you could want, along with several machines - again at your disposal, no worrying about waiting for them. They also offer classes that look fun. Finally you CANNOT, I repeat cannot beat the atmosphere here. It is really cool inside, extremely clean, set-up well (2 floors), modern and the staff/owners are so friendly and pretty much mind their clients and not your presence. In conclusion, the weekday membership is not for everyone, but if you can swing it, it's worth it!

As someone who easily gets intimidated by commercial gyms and weight lifting, I sought out a way to…read moreprioritize fitness and strength training in a more personalized way-- that's how I found Method Fitness. Jack Hammond and I regularly met throughout the week for 60-minute training sessions. I can't emphasize this enough-- his enthusiasm, encouragement, and overall knowledge about training undoubtably helped me achieve my goals. Not only did he constantly challenge and push me to improve and train harder; but he did so with a positive attitude. Obviously just by looking at Jack, you'll be able to tell he knows a thing or two about fitness and lifting (the guy is ~~ripped~~), but what sets Jack apart from the other "bro-science" personal trainers, is that he is ACE-certified, has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and also has experience with college athletics. His overall understanding about fitness is all backed by his years of experience + knowledge about science-based explanations ... now I don't know about you, but I don't think I could have asked for a more qualified trainer. Due to personal obligations and a career change, I'm no longer able to train at Method as regularly. The good news is that I'll always be able to keep the lessons I've been taught on proper form, correct movements, acceptable adjustments, and lastly-- my higher and improved self-esteem.

I love Method's take on fitness: they recognize that everyone has a different fitness journey, that fitness goals vary, and that getting healthy is a process. By working with Adam and Nigel, I've learned that changing my body composition and dietary discipline has to be habitual, and that success is related to consistency. They've also taught me there is no magic pill, no fantasy workout, no fancy sweatmore sweatpants that are gonna burn my fat, lift my butt, and sculpt my arms; only my hard work will achieve those things. And that the hard work is WAY worth it. With Adam and Nigel's guidance, my weekly workouts have progressed hugely over time. I've dropped weight, changed my body composition, increased my cardio capability, and am strong as hell. Worried about Method being way too bro-tastic for your tastes? No worries there. Amahl, the owner, does an incredible job curating a team of trainers that is dedicated to a healthful lifestyle and are super fit themselves, but somehow lack the macho-man-cool-story-bro gene. Worried about Method not being hardcore enough for you? No worries there, either. These trainers are SERIOUS. I see some of the trainers' personal workouts while I'm coming and going in the space - and their strength, ability, stamina, and discipline AMAZE me. Super inspirational. Couple other plusses: the space is clean and beautiful, parking is easy peasy, there are always fresh towels to wipe your brow, and spring water is provided to quench your thirst. In short, integrating Method into your fitness routine is nothing but a good thing. You'll get where you want to go faster, with better knowledge, and with great guidance.

Now my fiancé and I wanted to get in shape for our wedding next year and we knew we had to start now. I chose PE fitness studio because it had the ambiance I wanted, a comfortable setting to work out that was a typical gym. They host small group classes and one on ones, so you won't catch some creep in a machine in the corner slowly moving while staring at you. Perfect. Not looking to go to a gym. I need someone to motivate me to not quit and just sit there. Laurel suggested we start with 20 half hour sessions with me and my fiancé. I couldn't commit so I agreed on 15 but will definitely be buying more. She motivates me by chatting me up about my favorite topics to get me forget about the agonizing pain in my butt as I squat across the room. You think 30 mins isn't a lot, but when you mix in cardio and the deathly push ups, trust me, it is. Laurel is a sweetheart and doesn't let me quit! The other day she threatened me with burpees if I tried to cheat on my across the room squats, aka I ran halfway across the room when she wasn't looking! Laurel is a sweetheart and soooooo flexible with scheduling. I 100% suggest one on one training with her. It's pricier than a gym but let's be honest, you weren't going to the gym. You're less likely to cancel when you have a wonderful sweet woman waiting on you!!! Did I mention she has an adorable pit bull puppy and she texts me photos of him all the time??? Because she does! She also checks in the next day to see how you're doing. This warm renovated mill Is the best place to force yourself to do something that we all know I 100% don't want to do! Join join join!!!!! You've never felt so at home!!
