I've had the Carplay/Android Auto module for my Q50 for a few months now, and it's great! Everything works perfectly, there is no lag (none more than the OEM system anyways), and the sound quality is great. I show off the AA feature on my video, but I've tried Carplay as well and it works flawlessly too. For the DIY-ers, the installation is very similar to other modules on the market. Functionality wise, there's not much to say. If you've used AA/Carplay before, it's just like that. Siri and google assistant work flawlessly as well. The audio output is AUX, which I was a little iffy about at first, but their wiring does a good job at reducing noise, so for me it sounds just as good as Bluetooth. The tiny speaker that goes behind the top screen does not sound good at all, but I personally have never used it intentionally (see cons for more on this). All my audio and calls go through the car speakers, but I do connect my phone via Bluetooth for calls to my car, so maybe that's why. The module allows for this without breaking any of the experience, and you can launch calls this way either using the module or the OEM car system. Overall, I would highly recommend this module over the other stuff out there. I have the very first version of this module, which is touchscreen only. All the OEM functions for the OEM system are preserved, but you can't use the rotary knob or steering wheel controls with AA/Carplay. The new recent module FIXES this. I haven't gotten it yet, but I know people who have, and they say that it works perfectly fine, with both the center console controls and the steering wheel controls. I'll probably upload another video of this once I get mine. Lastly, customer service with UNAVI is top notch. Their US team has been very responsive and helpful with all my questions. When I complained about the lack of physical control usability, they put me in touch with the Korean team directly who have now released a whole new module addressing this within a couple of weeks. Not to mention that they apparently work with Infiniti of Korea, so these products are pretty well tested and tried with Korean consumers. The pros for me over other modules: - It uses the car's OEM hardware for all audio (except for that tiny speaker I talk about above). No need to install some questionable quality microphone or have some random cheap control wheel sticking out of the dash. - It works very seamlessly. I don't have to do any weird boot up or worry about crashes. You just plug in your phone and you're good to go. - Customer service is great! They really seem determined to back up their products. Their headquarters in CA just makes this process so much easier too. - It utilizes the top screen, which is great since it's basically useless in the OEM system. The bottom screen works just like normal and is unaffected. - Overall, it just works like any other OEM AA/Carplay from other cars. There's no weird work-around or anything. Cons: - Every now and then, at startup, the module starts playing music off of the tiny speaker. This is a default when you select your audio source other than AUX while still trying to play music with the module. Twice now, it has played from the tiny speaker even though I set my audio source to AUX. This seems like it's an issue with the car system not switching correctly, but all I've had to do is switch to radio and then back to AUX, which fixes it. I've only had it happen twice and it's just a mild nuisance.

Purchased the update module to add Car Play/Android Auto to our 2019 Infiniti QX50. Unfortunately Infiniti didn't add that option until the 2020 model year. This is an update, not a replacement, so it retains the original screen and all original functions (automatic camera views, steering control integration, etc.) and adds Car Play and Android Auto. The installation manual was very thorough, and the biggest challenge for our installer was the car itself, not the Unavi module. The installer also routed the USB cable through the covered center console storage and I added a 90-degree USB adapter (see photos) from Amazon to allow us to close the cover while still leaving the phone cable plugged in. The module uses the iPod input to connect the phone to the stereo system so you retain the original factory options (e.g. satellite, FM, etc.) if you wish to use those. You can even use the original navigation in case you miss the 1990s-era GPS experience. Unfortunately the USB adapter blocks the second USB port, but there is an additional charging port in the large storage compartment. The cover provides a stable place to leave the phone while driving, so I consider it worth the trade-off. It's not a 100% seamless integration (steering console display shows "iPad" and doesn't have track information, reverse camera will give a brief glimpse of the original OEM navigation before switching back to CP/AA), but given that we were able to keep the original equipment and integrations, and that there really isn't any other option, this is an excellent option to add iPhone or Android features to the QX50.

I saw this company on an Internet forum. Did some research, and while they had a sale, decided to get in on the good deal. They did not disappoint! The product itself was a great addition to the vehicle. They were also very friendly and professional. I was in-and-out within an hour! VERY happy with their service and their product!

I purchased a UNAVi Navigation OEM direct replacement for my Infiniti QX60 and had it installed at "Pro Audio" in Springfield, VA. It works as expected and it was plug-in play. I suggest you go with the professional installation to take advantage of the 3 year warranty vs. do it yourself with 1 year. It looks good and all of your OEM functions continue to work. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Does the CarPlay module void infiniti factory / extended warranty?

I am writing this to warn other consumers about my experience with Stereo Blvd. I paid $2,800 on 10/25/2025 for work that was never completed. As of March 2026, the owner (Hank) still refuses to refund my $1,800 balance and has tried to delay and postpone to complete the work on my vehicle for 5 months. According to the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), this business is operating on a CANCELLED license (see attached screenshot from DCA archives showing it was cancelled in 2009). Additionally, they are performing tire and rim installations without the required Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) registration. A formal state investigation is currently active with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS Case #252602346). BAR (The Bureau of Automotive Repair) complaint confirmation reference number 65CF-MQX7MX for performing Wheel/Rim without license. Please verify any business license at search.dca.ca.gov before handing over your money. Do NOT make same mistake like mine and DO NOT believe in the owner's sweet talk but DO your thorough research and shopping ahead. ***UPDATE: In his response, the owner blames my Tesla's "16V lithium battery" for his failure. This is a massive red flag for any EV owner. The 16V system has been the standard in Teslas since 2022. By blaming the battery now, he is admitting he lacked the basic technical knowledge to work on my car, despite luring me into a $2,800 "parts deposit" by claiming he had done many of these before. A true professional would know that specialized EV audio components (like Alpine's Tesla-specific kits) are designed for this exact voltage. He took the money for a job he wasn't qualified to perform, stalled for weeks, and still hasn't provided a refund. Stay away if you own a modern EV. ***Now since I have filed complaint with California Bureau of Household Goods and Services and Bureau of Automotive Repair, the owner Hank response with "wait and see" attitude rather than issuing me the refund!

It was put right in the middle of my windshield, which caused quite a visual distraction, and depending on who tells you, could be against California code regarding dashcam placement. When I got home, I repositioned the camera to one of the spots recommended by the manufacturer, next to the rearview mirror and out of direct line of sight. Another questionable choice, they cut a slot into the plastic that covers my cruise control wires instead of routing cables through the already present gap between the rear view mirror and plastic cover. This could be on me as well, as I never discussed preferred camera position with the business. I took a picture of the cut they made, as well as a picture with a red X to show where the camera was originally placed. Those choices, while a bit puzzling didn't really bother me enough to go back as ultimately I wanted my camera to be properly connected, and cables nicely routes and invisible. Newport Sound did all this perfectly and I am very happy with that. While this won't stop me from coming back myself, it is worth noting for other potential customers.
