What a dining experience at the one Michelin star Unalome by Graeme Cheevers. Walking in was like walking into a modern brownstone. The decor was light and airy.
I had the three-course lunch tasting menu. I thought I would need to get food elsewhere afterwards because the portions were small. All of the small courses were surprisingly filling and delicious.
I also had my first Old Fashioned. It was okay, but I'll stick to my champagne cocktails.
What stuck out to me was the level of exceptional service. We had reservations for 2:30pm, but were in the neighborhood early and decided to check if they would be able to seat us. We dined from 2pm until 5:45pm, as they were changing over for their 6pm dinner service. At no point were we rushed. I even switched tables so that I could be seated near the heater, and they politely brought over our tea and moved our serving wares.
This is a fine dining experience, and the price matched accordingly. The tasting menu by itself was reasonable at £55. When you add two cocktails at £29 each, plus the cheese supplement, plus tea, and service charge, you end up paying $180 USD for lunch! The service charge is automatically included. Go prepared and enjoy. read more
