EMSculpt uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to trigger muscle contractions thereby providing improved muscle tone in FDA indicated areas (abdominals, buttocks). I had 101 questions, ranging from ongoing maintenance requirements through to technical questions on how the machine operates. Danielle was the first person at a retail location able to confidently answer all my questions, it is clear she is well-versed in EMSculpt treatment and has been attending ongoing training on best practices in the use of EMSculpt. She was very forthright in EMSculpt's benefits (e.g. if you have a fat layer, it might not be as effective) and drawbacks (e.g. if you don't continue EMSculpt maintenance treatments, you might not sustain the improvements you received via EMSculpt akin to going to a personal trainer 7 days a week then dropping down to 1 day a week). The office was well appointed and conveniently located near a subway station. Although I did not end up actually buying anything after taking up so much of her time, she was very gracious. I will definitely return.

She really took the time to evaluate my skin and tailor the entire treatment to what I needed that day, which made it feel very personalized. Amanda was gentle, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough. She explained things in a way that was helpful without being overwhelming, and I felt completely at ease the whole time. The space itself is clean, calming, and welcoming, which just adds to the overall experience. I walked out with my skin looking brighter, smoother, and overall healthier. You can tell the difference right away. I'll definitely be back and will absolutely be booking with Amanda again. Highly recommend!

I would do this monthly for sure!…read more I came in with a fairly inflamed situation that required serious extraction work, and my aesthetician, Nayely, couldn't have been better. She was thorough, precise, and incredibly calming. Nothing felt rushed or surface-level, she handled everything with care, and I left feeling completely resolved. From the moment I walked in, everything felt inviting. Warm, attentive greeting, seamless intake, and a calm, spa-like environment that never felt pretentious. The signature facial was honestly astonishing. There was a clear before and after. I genuinely felt like a different person walking out, like "fresh from a vacation!" Such a great addition to the neighborhood. This would make a beautiful gift for someone, or just book it for yourself. Seriously, just do it!

I have my favorites, ofc, but the recent bad weather kept some staff from getting to work. My appointment was kept, I received superior work as always and a new regard for everyone who works there. It's a real team of New Yorkers I am very happy to be their long time customer, (since Feline- long passed) It's clean, it's pleasant, it's next door to Vanguard Wine bar- meets so many needs!

I am a frequent and loyal customer and therefore do not enter into these things randomly. Certainly, the quality must be there. One day, I needed to purchase several of my usual skin-care items. I did some research for my brands, and I decided to try Upper West Spa with the potential for a longer relationship also in mind. Their website was appealing-ish, and I wanted the opportunity to evaluate whether I would make this my wax, laser, what-have-you regular place. It might prove inappropriate for that, I reasoned, but how could they ruin a purchase experience ? I need the items anyway. I have nothing to lose. I was entirely mistaken. I arrived with two pre-paid VISA gift cards given me by my family - "pre-paid" means, just like cash (?). In what one might best identify as a kind of gobble-dy-gook, one of the individuals behind the register informed me that her "system" ONLY accommodated credit cards and that she would not accept pre-paid giftcards. Moreover, she said, the only other option was entering the cards manually "and well we just won't do that." The spa did not seem busy ... is it really too much trouble ... ? To build a relationship with a potentially regular customer ...? Now, at this point, I could have used my debit or credit cards. At it stood, I would have needed to pay around $100 beyond the gift cards anyway. But I was so annoyed by her demeanor - she obviously suspected something shady - that I was quite literally unable to imagine tossing any profits in their direction. I am also aware that businesses who exhibit extreme vigilance about being cheated are often cheating people themselves - suffice to say: No thanks. It was a very disappointing experience but also a learning one. I was not thrilled about the "feel" when I walked in, I thought the people in attendance were oddly watchful and unhelpful, but I gave them the full chance notwithstanding. Going forward, I will never consider Upper West Spa, not would I recommend them to anyone. And I don't need to. There are thousands of spas and shops in New York, and most of them carry my skin-care brands.
