The wildlife are out and about creating a great sound to complete the scene. The Yellow Trail is the longest in the park (about 7.5 out and back) and takes you through the woods and crosses the paved path a couple times. The trail has a few small hills in it that make the hike a little more interesting and fun. In some parts the trail is narrow and the trees are hanging over, but it is nothing unmanageable. The trails are marked throughout the park, but we did find that these markings could have been improved with more arrows when two trails intersected. The best method for making sure you stay on the right trail is to look at the color markings on the trees. However, the marked trees may be several yards down the path. Just keep walking until you see the marking and then turn around if you need to. I would definitely recommend checking out Ridley State Park for a hike, or even a picnic, as there were plenty of areas to do so. I would love to come back and see other areas of the park or even do the same hike again!

There are stairs where you can walk down to the waters edge if you desire. This is at your own risk of course. For the children/families there is plenty of your standard but very modern playground activities. Additionally there is a great water splash pad. I struggle with the trash in the marshes, I am not sure if it is the wind picking it up but I hope there can be more effort cleaning up. The kids really enjoy running around and playing on the different playground structures, including the spinning jungle gym thing and the huge swing! In addition to that great playground, they also have a nice long trail to walk around the whole park, lots of open space to use otherwise (I've seen people playing volleyball before), other sports courts such as basketball right near the playground, and one of my favorites, the fitness court! That's a great place to do some exercises that I've sometimes seen folks do on a playground, but this one is customized for exercise. Weather's still not fully there yet, but I may get back out there soon to use that equipment again!

This park is designed for young children, as most of the swings have the bucket seats and the slides are not terribly high. There is also a fire-truck structure to play on, a dachshund balance beam/bench, a couple of adult benches, a little free library, and 2 picnic tables. There's a grassy area for tag, while the play structures are surrounded by mulch. There are a couple of trash cans and one recycling container. Attended the Bellevue concert summer series. Most performances are on Thursday nights or Sunday…read morenights. Parking within the park was easy as there were people guiding us where to go. Although it was very crowded, there was plenty of room for everyone so it didn't feel overly crowded. There were food trucks and beer tents set up for patrons! A 50/50 was also going on! It's also very beautiful and has lots of green. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that I currently do live in Delaware, but my license plate is from out of State so I still have to pay out-of-state license fee for the parking. Maybe they will soon change it so that they will take bills as proof of Delaware resident as well.
