The grounds boast 4 gazebos several park benches, a sound stage and beautifully manicured grounds for you to lay down a blanket or fold up chairs. There are stairs where you can walk down to the waters edge if you desire. This is at your own risk of course. For the children/families there is plenty of your standard but very modern playground activities. Additionally there is a great water splash pad. Please defer to their website for the Grand ReOpening events along with other events throughout the summer. This park is adjacent to a new beautiful Holiday Inn Express. My lady friend and I walked around and through the park in a leisurely fashion. The bright sun reflected off the lake in blinding but welcoming fashion. As we walked, a flock of geese, majestically landed in virtual unison. We returned to the car carefully avoiding the little "gifts' left on the ground by the feathered flock.

Once you're on the trails it gets surprisingly quiet. Like, noticeably quieter than you'd expect from somewhere still technically inside Philadelphia. The paths are mostly flat gravel so it's not a hard walk at all. I tend to stop on the boardwalks and just look out over the marsh for a few minutes. Last time there were a few turtles lined up on a log, and I'm pretty sure I spotted a couple of herons near the water too. You do hear planes since the airport's close by, but it doesn't really bother me. Kind of adds to the strangeness of the place in a way I actually like. One thing worth knowing: the mosquitoes are no joke. I skipped bug spray once and regretted it pretty quickly. If you're going in summer, just bring some, especially if you're planning to hang around near the water.

The kids really enjoy running around and playing on the different playground structures, including the spinning jungle gym thing and the huge swing! In addition to that great playground, they also have a nice long trail to walk around the whole park, lots of open space to use otherwise (I've seen people playing volleyball before), other sports courts such as basketball right near the playground, and one of my favorites, the fitness court! That's a great place to do some exercises that I've sometimes seen folks do on a playground, but this one is customized for exercise. Weather's still not fully there yet, but I may get back out there soon to use that equipment again!

This park is designed for young children, as most of the swings have the bucket seats and the slides are not terribly high. There is also a fire-truck structure to play on, a dachshund balance beam/bench, a couple of adult benches, a little free library, and 2 picnic tables. There's a grassy area for tag, while the play structures are surrounded by mulch. There are a couple of trash cans and one recycling container.
