I ordered chicken and shrimp hibachi combo, it was so good and perfectly cooked. The waiters and waitresses and chefs were all super friendly and the service was very quick and great. As soon as I sat down I had a water, soap, ginger salad, and the chef was quick to start cooking the groups meals. This place is clean and well decorated. It was my first time here and I loved the experience.

The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel well cared for. Once they learned it was our anniversary, everyone greeted us warmly! Best sushi in Jacksonville, hands down! Always so fresh + flavorful with great portions. We ordered the Oceanside and Sand Dollar roll. Oceanside is a MUST try, it truly is the best sushi roll I've had in Jax. The atmosphere is luxurious and feels like you're stepping into a whole new city! Love it here!!!

We started with the edamame, with the sea salt and truffle oil, which is always delicious. The service over the evening was very slow, and we spent a lot of time waiting on food. We sat in our favorite spot at the bar window so our server also appeared the be working behind the bar and was busy making drinks. We love sake and usually get a bottle of the Noble Arrow. We asked for a recommendation and the server recommended the Soul of the Sensei, which is $107 for the bottle. We were celebrating our 24th anniversary so we went for it. He said it was on the dry side, but we found it very unexpectedly sweet, almost like a moskato wine. It wasn't surprising when we read the back of the label and saw the flavor profile was all the way on the fruity side, with notes of Muscat grape. We definitely made a mistake by not tasting it first, so we ended up asking for a bag to take it home and ordered 2 glasses of the Noble Arrow. It was a disappointing start. Next we ordered the yellowtail carpaccio, which was very good, although the size of the fish pieces overall seemed smaller than usual. Everything we ordered over the evening was undeniably tasty, but small. We got the Usuzukuri salmon and when they brought it, they had the tuna carpaccio as well. The person who brought it said it was a gift. Later, we were charged $2 on the bill for the "gift." It's not much, but it's just that giving us a gift and then putting a charge on the bill for it was very strange. Overall, I still love the food at O-Ku, but this was not the best experience. We had gone there previously for our anniversary and they made it feel special. This time there wasn't any kind of recognition besides possibly the "gift" we had to pay extra for. And the service was so slow that we ended up drinking the bottle of sake we didn't like rather than waiting for another drink order. Every place will have its off nights, and this unfortunately seemed to be one of them. I would still recommend going there, because even though the portions are tiny and expensive, the taste is delicious.

The server was nice, got our drink orders, and then came back for our entree orders. I love their soup here, super simple, but super delicious. When we ordered our entrees we noticed on the kid's menu they don't offer combos like they do on the adult menu. My kiddo had a hankering for both chicken and steak, so we ordered him the steak, I got the steak and chicken and gave him my chicken, and my husband got the steak and chicken. So typically when we've come here we love the food and the entertainment of having a hibachi chef. They normally make it really interactive and fun, this time around was a different story. Our hibachi chef was pretty lackluster, no throwing the egg, no funny quips about the rice or veggies. It wasn't really dinner and a show. One of my favorite items is the Japanese fried rice, because I like the crispy bits you get when it's cooked on the hibachi....no crispy bits. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was flavorful, but disappointed in the lack of show and the rice this time around. I'm hoping this is a one off.

I had the Hot Green Tea (weather was in the 40's today) so it was nice to keep me warm and cozy. The Scallops and Lobster Tail Hibachi with steamed white rice was amazing! The steak was served cold, and overall the food was disgusting and nowhere near the quality you would expect from a restaurant charging these prices. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. When I politely explained that the food was unacceptable and requested a refund, management became argumentative instead of trying to resolve the situation. Rather than addressing the obvious quality issues, they seemed more concerned with refusing responsibility. Between the questionable freshness of the fish, cold steak, poor food quality, and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are far better sushi restaurants in Jacksonville Beach that actually care about the quality of their food and their customers.

The build your own poke is also one of my go-to choices and their ramen bowls will give you delicious leftovers for days! Basically it'd hard to go wrong here. Other random side notes are that they're closed Monday (which i forget alot) & their miso soup is made with a more savory (bone?) broth that I'm used too- not a bad thing, it just surprised me. In sum, if I were on death row I might just have to get a philly roll from here as my last meal.

It's like a hug in a bowl; all the ingredients complement each other and the broth is just so good on its own, I could drink it alone. I'm a fan of a little spice so I asked for 1/2 the normal amount used to spice things up... but honestly the broth is just SOOO good on its own; it needs nothing. The noodles themselves are also really good; some places have noodles that can taste a little "cardboard-y" - but not at Tokyo Ramen. What else? Service: friendly and fast... Cleanliness of the restaurant: supreme (I think you could literally eat off the floors if health code allowed).

We decided to try somewhere new last Saturday night and were told about a 30-minute wait, which is usually a good sign as the place was packed. They took our number and texted us about 20 minutes later when two seats opened at the hibachi bar. Grabbing those seats was the best decision we made as we were entertained by both the hibachi chefs and the sushi station all night. The chefs were interactive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what they do. Our waitress, Jennifer, was absolutely on point, accommodating, polite, and happy to offer recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp tempura, bagel roll, and spider roll for sushi, along with the shrimp and steak hibachi, which she thoughtfully split onto two plates for us without even being asked. The sushi arrived first, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Soup and salad followed, then the hibachi entrée , all timed perfectly so we never felt rushed or overcrowded with dishes. The shrimp was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly, and the fried rice seasoned just right with herbs and spices that complemented the entire meal. Every part of the experience flowed from start to finish. A return visit is already in the works this month. Highly recommend this spot and major thanks to the employees for being at the top of their game! Truly a 5 star experience.
