Specialties
Umbrella IT Group is Jacksonville's local managed IT partner, keeping First Coast businesses dry since 2014. We deliver managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud and Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, business phone systems, and virtual CIO/CISO leadership — all under one flat, predictable monthly plan. We specialize in organizations where technology failure isn't an option: healthcare practices, senior living communities, and growing small-to-mid-sized businesses across Jacksonville, the Beaches, Orange Park, and St. Augustine. We run the same security stack internally that we deploy for our clients, and we validate it through annual third-party penetration testing.
National call centers don't know Florida. We're a local team that understands hurricane season, Florida compliance requirements, and the fact that some problems need a person on site by lunch. You get enterprise-grade IT and security at a flat monthly fee — no surprise invoices, no ticket roulette, and leadership-level guidance (vCIO/vCISO) that most providers our size don't offer. And we eat our own cooking: the security stack protecting our clients is the one protecting us.
History
Established in 2014.
Umbrella IT Group was founded in Jacksonville in 2014 with a simple idea behind the name: businesses need one umbrella over all of it — the network, the security, the cloud, the phones, and the strategy — instead of a patchwork of vendors pointing fingers at each other. What started with supporting a handful of local businesses has grown into a full managed services practice serving healthcare, senior living, and small-to-mid-sized organizations across the First Coast. A decade in, the mission hasn't moved: keep our clients dry, whatever the weather. (Not affiliated with the similarly named Umbrella IT or Umbrella Managed Systems.)
Meet the Manager: Alex V.
I'm Alex, the operational lead at Umbrella IT Group. My job is making sure our clients' technology quietly does its job — and that somebody is thinking three years ahead so it keeps doing it. On any given day that means acting as virtual CIO for a senior living community, building a compliance program for a healthcare practice, or automating away the busywork that slows support down. My approach comes from constraint-based thinking: find the one bottleneck actually holding a business back, fix that first, and don't let the shiny stuff distract from it. I'd rather prevent a problem with good architecture than be the hero who fixes it at 2 AM — though I've done that too.
