Went for my first aerial yoga class through Groupon. Nice that they have lockers but I don't know…read morewhy they need to take your picture "for reference". This was an all levels class but it seemed like most people have been here before. The instructor just jumped right in with no intro or anything. Although it's a relatively small class of 12, I feel like you don't get help if you need it. I just felt really uncomfortable the whole time, both emotionally and physically. Emotionally because he didn't really slow down or show any modifications, he just demonstrated and has us try. The way he explained wasn't very technical either, so I wasn't sure whether I was doing it right or not. Also, I didn't like that he commented sometimes in cantonese. Just because the students are mostly Chinese doesn't mean that you should assume they understand it. Physically uncomfortable because the hammock was too high for me and it wasn't adjustable. He said that it's okay if it's too high because I'm going to invert upside down anyway. Somebody fell down and he calmly continued teaching, later asking if she was okay. Maybe it's his teaching style, but I just don't feel comfortable going to another one of his classes.

The Instructor is really helpful and he has other students and assistants in the class to help students get into the poses if you sign up for any of the All Level Classes. I took a Hanuman Yoga class which was really hard. This class uses a yoga strap, which you use to invert yourself from the ceiling and to perform all of the poses. I actually found this class a little too difficult for myself but I did appreciate all of the help from the instructor, his assistant and the other classmates. At this studio they have a few aerial yoga classes. The traditional aerial yoga class is done very high off the floor and was much more difficult than all of the other aerial yoga classes I have ever been to. I have a few more classes at this studio and am going to try the aerial yoga class, which happens on Wednesday evening since I was told it it done much closer to the ground. I think it will be more in line with the other aerial yoga classes I have done in the past. The studio also has a Hatha yoga class which is completed on the floor and if the other aerial yoga class is too difficult I might check that one out on a Sunday to see what I think of it.

I lost 3 pilates classes I PAID for after even providing Dr's forms They will never offer perks to make up for closed down showers, pool area, broken lockers, half the main floor being under construction, broken machines, etc These "amenities" that're included in your membership aren't fully accessible all the time, that's for sure. They also removed staff from the second floor desk ages ago so good luck finding an employee. It's the WORST business model.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for years now. I joined the Eglinton East club for the AquaFit…read moreprogram. I was very happy pre-COVID with both the facility and the availability/quality of the aquafit classes. Even tho the availability of classes at the facility is now more limited post-COVID, the quality of both the facility and aquafit program remained very satisfactory. HOWEVER over the last 6 months or so, the pool facility has not been properly maintained. The pool has been closed and aquafit classes cancelled 25-50% of the times in recent months -- often simply because they have not been properly monitoring chlorine levels. Other LA Fitness clubs have not had the same issue and this particular club is NOT addressing the problem. This is not acceptable and proper procedures should be instituted at once.

Negligence, Health Risks & Zero Accountability -- Extremely Disappointed…read more I was a member of LA Fitness at 1970 Eglinton Ave East, Toronto, and this is my honest review of how poorly I was treated. Back in January, after using their jacuzzi, I experienced a severe allergic reaction. My $800 swimsuit was completely ruined -- the fabric was eaten away. I lost 5 days of work because I physically couldn't go due to the reaction on my skin. Right after the incident, I ran to the front desk. The girl working there was kind and immediately shut down the pool and jacuzzi, hoping someone would follow up with me. Unfortunately, since it was a Sunday, no manager was available. Days later, I contacted Alisha, the location's General Manager. She told me to call between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. -- while I work full-time from 9 to 8 every weekday. Still, I took time off work to go in person and speak with her. She looked confused, promised a quick response, and then... nothing. No call. No email. I continued reaching out, and again, I was asked to come in and speak with "a team member." Why? I had already explained everything. After countless follow-ups and waiting patiently, I received a cold, copy-paste response saying that no compensation would be offered. They claimed the chemicals were "within range." But if that were true, I wouldn't have had a visible allergic reaction. And my high-quality swimsuit wouldn't have been destroyed. On top of that, even just walking in to talk to a manager is counted as a check-in, and they used that against me as "proof" of facility usage -- how is that fair? I was left without answers, without support, without compensation -- and without basic respect. This is not a free facility. I was a paying member. But to receive this level of carelessness, unprofessionalism, and cold treatment when your health is at risk? Unacceptable. I loved the classes. The Zumba instructors and yoga teachers were amazing and deserve recognition. But management? Completely unaccountable and dismissive. Maybe I was just unlucky with this location, but after this experience, I will never trust this company again. Your health and time matter. Unfortunately, at this gym -- they don't.
