But I knew I needed more. I wanted to lose additional fat, build lean muscle, and truly tone my body, but I didn't have the knowledge or structure to get there on my own. That's where Coach Josiah made all the difference. From the very beginning, he took the time to get to know me on a personal level before ever introducing his program. That stood out immediately. Our communication was consistent and meaningful, and that accountability was exactly what I needed. I was able to be open about injuries and limitations, and instead of letting those hold me back, he guided me through them with a plan that kept me progressing safely and effectively. Because of Josiah's coaching, I am now at the lowest weight I've been since I was a young teenager. More importantly, I feel stronger, more confident, and more informed about how to maintain and continue improving my fitness. If you're looking for someone who truly cares, communicates, and knows what they're doing, I can confidently say he is someone you can trust. I'm excited to keep building on this progress and am grateful to have had him guide me the way.

I signed up for the beautiful strength program in fall of 2017 and have continued on to train three times a week with the same group of folks. The beautiful strength series was a fun opportunity to meet like-minded people, and is well-instructed and structured. I very strongly recommend it, even if you have some lifting experience. The facility itself is nice, the gym members are good people, and I'm happy to be a part of the community. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

As someone who is just trying to learn the basics I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Strength training is new and difficult for me. The trainer Matt, made sure his instructions scaled to my ability which I found incredibly helpful. Gyms around town have such different offerings/cultures so let me highlight some specifics: 1. It's a studio styled - open gym, with lots of strength equipment: strength machines, kettlebells, weight racks, sled, tires etc. 2. Cardio here primarily involves lifting heavy things rapidly. No treadmills, no zumba classes. 3. It's clean, also they can open the bay door at the rear of the gym for fresh air which is a nice feature. 4. Very welcoming to different abilities, ages etc.

With just a 12 week prep last year I was able to place in both divisions that I entered under the guidance of Coach Tom. I am currently under the guidance of Coach Ty and I've been able to pack on a lot of quality muscle without excess body fat and improve my stage presence a ton! The environment here is like no other. Everyone is encouraging one another and it's awesome to be around likeminded people working toward something similar such as an upcoming contest. You truly get to see everyone's physique coming together week by week. AZBB also holds posing classes weekly (Saturdays @noon) usually led by Coach Ty or Chris who is one of the best posers I've ever seen on stage. If you're looking to be better and are willing to work (it's been fun but not easy) then look no further!

It's group sessions up to four people maximum (there is one in one training available) 1 hour Tom is perfect for a group of friends to get a great workout in (and from someone who understands aging and weight issues.) Tom will work with you and keeps you remembering importance of posture to keep his trainees healthy and moving. Tom has various workouts and switches it up. Tom also does monthly measurements (if want to know or you skip the measurements if you don't want Tom to know you're not keeping the nutritional plan lol)

Rumble Boxing was showing up in my social media feeds and wss offering a free first class so I…read moresigned up to get the experience. I've never boxed before but the thought of punching a bag has always appealed to me. Especially when work gets stressful. I've wanted to learn how to box but just timing never worked out, but yesterday I gave it a try here. This isn't going to be like formal boxing at all, more like a exercise version of boxing. It was still fun but different than I imagined. I thought I would be learning to box and kick the entire time but you only do that for about half the class. This studio is located right on Tempe Town Lake where there is a plaza for living, etc. It's in a busy part of Tempe and parking is tight here. You do have to park in the garage above the studio but your parking is validated every time you come for class, so that works out nicely. While the first class is free, if you don't bring your own wrap, the studio offers it for $25, seems a bit steep but then again this business has to stay open. They loan you boxing gloves free for your first class and provide towels. There are lockers here but for the life of me I can't figure out these self locking lockers, so I don't even bother to lock up my stuff. The ladies working here are very helpful and said they would watch my stuff. Two bathrooms available but will say the lobby is small and no place to sit while you wait for your class to start. They need a little bigger lobby. This class felt like the same ambiance is a cycling studio I used to go to, it's like being inside a club. I found the instructors mic set was way too loud and the music sound level will blow out your eardrums. I did see ear plugs available and next time will use them. Instruction was ok for me as I am new to boxing and could have used a few pointers but it's not like rocket science to figure out how to punch a bag, just keep punching and learn the specific moves later!! About 30 minutes of the class, you're working with weights, squats, burgers, lunges, core work out, etc. While I don't do this regularly, I definitely appreciated it as I want to do a bit more cross training. I also worked up a nice sweat and my HR was probably in 160s, I was working but not at my max. You begin class boxing and then come back to finish more boxing. I loved the boxing!! I like how boxing gloves feel when you punch the bag and there is a bounce/spring to it. What I really wanted to do too was to kick the heck out of the bag too. I want to learn how to kick on top of box. I enjoyed thie cardio boxing class and I did sign up for some more classes. They offer a 2 in 1 class deal and then after that you can either buy 4 classes a month for $89 or 5 drop in classes for $129. I'm ready to box some more! Great, fun workout and a nice variation to everything else I am already doing!

Let's get ready to RUMBLE! One of my friends mentioned she enjoyed taking classes at Rumble so I…read moresigned up for my first class (Full Body) using ClassPass. I got here early and was assigned a spot at the bag and bench and got some gloves to try for the class. Note that while you can use their gloves (Not sure if there is a rental fee after the initial class) you will have to buy your own wraps. I had my own wraps... well, I thought I had all of my wraps until I started to look around in my bag and realized I only brought one wrap while the other wrap was at home. What's a gal to do? Luckily the front desk person took pity on me and I was able to use a quick-wrap of theirs for this class on one hand while I used my own wrap for my other hand. I mention all this because I think for newbies, the quick wrap is probably the best type of wrap to use if you don't know good boxing form. I noticed after class that the quick-wrapped hand felt fine while my traditionally wrapped hand had some wrist soreness. Perhaps I needed to wrap my wrist with more fabric. If I take another class I'll be sure to modify my wrapping technique. The class itself had high energy and high VOLUME! The old fogey in me will have to wear ear plugs if I take a future class because my ears felt like how they do after being in a really loud club or at a rock concert. It took a few hours for my hearing to come back to normal. Pre-class, the instructor will go over the 6 moves for your bag. The numbers might be a bit hard to remember at first so there's a screen that reminds you what combo you should be doing and the instructor will come over too to correct anything you might need help with. We started on the bags. It was fun to do some punching and jabbing but the bags are so close to each other that if you are punching so hard that your bag moves, it might interfere with your neighbor's ability to move around. When we moved over to the benches we did exercises such as squats, burpees, and planks. My knees started to hurt a little after these few rounds (yep, old fogey here) but it wasn't too bad. There is also a screen here to remind you what the exercises look like. The last few rounds are back on the bag, doing more combos and freestyle moves. Overall it was fun and it was definitely a good cardio workout. I did get a little overheated during the bench part of the workout so I'll have to stay super hydrated if I were to take another class at Rumble. Two weeks after moving I was having dinner with friends and given Nadine's name and number. That is when my relationship with The Fitness Joint began. 10 months later I'm thrilled to say it was the best choice I could have made. I have lost inches, gained confidence, lost body fat percentage, and gained strength. She makes training fun, brutal, but fun. She has a way of encouraging you but also listening to your needs. She talks you through the moves to decide if it's the best one for you. She is always changing things up so boredom isn't an issue. I can not recommend The Fitness Joint enough. And did I mention the new gym space?!? You'll love it! Great environment, great trainer, and great results!

I had just graduated from college and was weighing at 165lbs. I was always feeling tired, bloated, and weak. For almost 2 months without a job I tried working out on my own. Going on walks with my dog, doing 24 minute HIIT's here and there in my own home, but I wasn't feeling any stronger and wasn't seeing the changes I wanted to see. One day my mom came home from seeing a personal trainer. She told me I would love her and should give it a shot. I had never worked with a personal trainer before. I have been on countless sport teams up until college. I had done workouts with friends. Did a program called BBG my sophomore year of college, but never thought of going to a personal trainer. The first day I went to see Nadine, changed my life for the better. Don't get me wrong, the first day was hell. I could easily see me working out on my own hadn't done much at all after one workout with Nadine. But, I knew I found someone who would push me. So, I kept showing up. I have been seeing Nadine constantly 2-3 times a week for 7 months. I know weight matters to some, so I will share that I have dropped down to 145lbs. I HUGE factor in that is nutrition. Which I am 90% vegan. HOWEVER. I have never felt SO strong. The weight doesn't matter to me. The physical appearance doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is the feeling of being STRONG. 7 months of hard work. 7 months of her pushing me to places I didn't know I could be pushed, and showing me I'm hella of a lot stronger than I ever thought I was. Nadine wants the best for her clients. If you let her work with you, push you outside your comfort zone, and let her show you how strong you can be, I promise you will not regret seeing this amazing trainer.
