On the day of my original review post, I received a call from Mark. He hadn't seen my review, he was calling to follow up, asking if I've had my trees removed yet. we talked a bit with my explaining that we were still waiting for the updated/correct draft/estimate of the full work we wanted done. He said he'd come by, look at my property again and work on getting the estimate completed (I was hopeful); however, shortly after my conversation with Mark (same day), Karen called me, told me she read my review and didn't like it (imagine that) and asked what could be done to get it removed. There was no apology, nor any suggestions or offers on how to correct things! I told her we'd have to wait and see what Mark comes up with. a week later, on July 22, Mark calls me to say that he's come up with a plan that he thinks covers everything I wanted and will have it sent to me...still nothing, so I called Mark on July 28, left a voicemail asking about status. Here it is August 10th (2 months since initial visit) and all we have seen is the company doing work on a neighbor's home, the past week.

While driving my daughter to school, we approached a merge where the traffic was alternating smoothly, until this van failed to yield as expected and deliberately pushed into our lane, forcing me off the road. This wasn't a misunderstanding or an accident, it was aggressive and dangerous. What escalated the situation further was what happened moments later at the stoplight. The driver, now positioned on my passenger side where my teenage daughter was seated, began shouting out his window directly at her. We couldn't hear everything he said, but given the context and tone, I can say with confidence it was completely inappropriate, especially for a minor. No adult should be yelling at a child under any circumstance. If this is how their employees conduct themselves on the road, with aggression, disregard for safety, and hostility toward minors, I would strongly urge anyone to think twice before doing business with them. If this level of judgment reflects how they operate as a company, I would not want them anywhere near my home, my family, or my property. This was serious enough that I am filing a police report. I hope the company addresses this behavior swiftly, before someone gets hurt.

The work…read morewas primarily, strip front lawn of terrible, weed friendly soil, level the lawn elevation, truck in 2 dumps of "good, clean, ph neutral weed free soil and hydro seed for a great lawn by July. Only thing I had to do was water adequately. The spring and early summer of 2025 was exceptionally wet. 13 straight weekends of rain. Grass started popping up in 12-14 days. I was watering based on soil temps as we got into June. But at about 5-6 weeks in around June 21, the entire lawn, except for 10-15% that is shaded, was 90% crabgrass w/ small patches of brown skimpy grass blades. Lawn was major disaster. Company blamed it on me not watering. Wrong, I had watered, I don't abandon my investments. This crabgrass was very heavy, knarly, thick leaves and roots, nothing like it in my area / neighborhood. Obvious to me it was embedded in the new soil they had dump trucked in. Or in the hydroseed... Who knows. 1st they promised to strip it all and start fresh, which I thought generous, but in the end, they aerated through the lawn of crabgrass and seeded and aerated. It did work, and by mid- late October, I had a nice lawn w/ small remnant of crabgrass. They said they'd come back in Spring 2026 and lay down a crabgrass and weed pre-emergent. They didn't. I did it myself. I can understand a big mistake (bad source for the new soil they laid down) but don't blame the client for something obvious in sourcing the product.

They went above and beyond in all areas, and performed the job exactly as I had requested. The workers were all friendly and extremely helpful and performed an amazing job right on schedule. as a matter of fact, due to an injury, I had needed to go to the hospital, and Jake from Eco-Smart drove me there. This in itself was impressive, but along with that they had to complete all the work in my absence, so I was not around to approve the final product. In spite of that they did the job to perfection! I couldn't be happier to recommend Eco-Smart Landscaping. In fact, I plan on telling everyone I know! If you are also committed to restoring a native environment and bringing back pollinators, or otherwise have a desire to do your part to heal the planet, Eco-smart, is the only way to go!
