The competitor tried to win my business back by claiming my insurance company called him. I called my insurance company and they said they had no record of the call and I hadn't even given a list of potential providers to them so they had no way of knowing who was in the area. I called the competitor and asked him to give me the name of who he spoke with at my insurance company. The competitor never returned my phone call. Needless to say it became even more apparent that Tim from Atomic and his team were the right choice and I couldn't be happier with their service. He devised a plan to preserve as much of the original pine walls as possible and integrated the new pieces beautifully. He identified the root of the problem - leaks at the chimney - and he had it sealed and patched fast. We then made a surprise discovery - our old log beam mantle had rotted through. We had no idea how we would find a piece of wood that would match the cabin and Jim worked magic. In two hours he found a gorgeous salvage mantle replacement - amazing. I can't recommend them more highly thoughtful, hard working and collaborative. He solved all of our problems and we plan to work with him as our go to crew from now on.

If I could offer no star, I would…read more Dave Gugger is a joke, a coward and highly misleading in his work ethic and skill. He provided us with services which included underground drainage from our foundation, removal of crushed stone (from a previously laid above-ground pool), ground leveling, sod-placement and construction of 2 gardens made from Penn flagstone. NONE of these jobs were done correctly. The crushed stone still lies beneath our new sod and constantly dries out because the proper amount to create an appropriate depth for grass roots to grow was not removed. The stone gets too hot in the sun and burns the grass from the root up. After 2-3 days of no water, there is a perfect 33' round patch of dead grass in my yard, reminding us of the pool long-gone. The gardens BOTH fell within 2 weeks of being built - one of which was put together by a temp; a 16-yo young man who was happy to admit this was his first rock wall! The stones used were NOT what we had ordered as he did not properly obtain the product we wanted in time. He snuck in random round boulders which was the baseline to it's eventual fail. I personally had to remove all the stones, gather new material and rebuild the gardens myself. Plants that were supposed to be REMOVED before building the garden (variegated hostas) were not taken out properly and I still struggle with constantly having to weed out the persistent babies of the larger plants that make their way through the soils. As anyone with hosta-removal experience knows, you PAY to have someone remove them properly because if they are not, they will keep coming back! They are choking out the rest of my plants and it is extremely discouraging. The drainage pipe that was installed leaks out to a location less than 20' from our foundation and is at a 15degree grade HIGHER than the foundation itself - so all the water that is removed seeps right back into our basement. Our investemnt of a dehumidifier was probably the best in our whole experience - but that of course was only AFTER we constantly find 2-4 inches of water in our basement. Of all the things, here is my biggest, sincerest complaint.... when he was confronted with the problems we were having, he repeatedly refused to reply to emails, would not answer his phone. Once, we got him to answer (when he must not have checked to see if it was us) and he pulled the good ol' fashioned "Hello? HELLO? I can't hear you. *click*" Another time, he had the audacity to tell me (during the period of my extremely frequent and frustratingly unanswered phone calls) that he was on vacation where he dropped his phone and broke it. Now, I understand everyone needs a vacation - and I totally understand accidents happen. But I also know that when you, as the OWNER, are on a 3-week vacation and you lose your phone the FIRST day, you would likely try to pick up a new one, or at least set up your answering account to say "On vaca, I'll return your call as quickly as I am able." Perhaps a vaca-message on your webpage?? Nothing but dead air from this guy. As a business owner myself, I am shocked that any owner would treat paying customers, and good fair people, with such disregard. We did not ask much of him when it came to fixing the problems. We asked that he either get out to our home and fix ALL the errors he and his crew had made or to refund us JUST OUR LABOR COST!!! Just the labor. We'll keep the product and do the damn work ourselves (and better than he did!) But he ignored us. I apologize to those who look for a short yay-or-nay review - but there is no way I'm going to let this extremely poor businessman slide for the damages he has done. We are now slated to have our entire back yard excavated to remove the stone he was paid to do in the first place. My yard needs lots of landscaping upgrades so I was happy to have the owner come out and look things over. My immediate need was lawn mowing and trimming for the summer with adding in some large and small projects. The owner came and we walked my small yard. He took pictures and I was given a quote for the mowing. It was reasonable and I felt positive about moving forward. Then when they came earlier than expected to mow, I was sure I made the right choice. It is always nice to come home from work to a freshly cut lawn. But with this 1st cut, the loose cut grass remained, not raked, bagged or in the expected grass catcher. My bad for not asking as that is something that was just automatically done with my last lawn professionals. A few days later I was walking the property and found that on one side of my house the grass/weeds were overgrown and had been missed on the mowing day. I also found that a section behind the house was left untouched as well. Also found was a lawn decoration that had been mowed down and broken. If I had know they were coming it is something I would have removed. It wasn't expensive but it showed a disregard for my property. The fact that it wasn't mentioned is what bothered me. I texted the owner about the unmowed areas and also mentioned the lawn ornament and a few other things that I noticed had happened when the mowers came through. The owner texted me back and said bagging & dumping would be an additional $10.00 per mow. And to mow the other side of my house, which is actually just a small buffer between me and my neighbor, would be an extra $10.00. If you come out and spend as much time with me walking & discussing a property as small as mine, and you give me a quote afterwards, I don't expect an immediate price increase of $20.00 after just one mow. I moved on to another lawn professional whose quote was the same as my original quote from Globe Green. $20.00 per mow less, with glass clippings automatically removed with their mower and no areas of this small yard left unmowed. AND, the price stayed the same for the season.

3 weeks of no shows! DO NOT make the mistake of hiring this company. It's a one man show with an…read moreowner who seems very nice on the surface, but watch out. We hired him for recurring weekly mowing. We never knew when he'd show up, and it was different almost weekly. When we'd ask when he was coming, he acted annoyed. He came one week only a couple of hours after heavy rain and destroyed part of the yard because it was too wet. I told him it wasn't a big deal because it's been so wet, but just an FYI that he tore up some of the lawn. His response was that our lawn was always too wet in that area...not even a simple sorry, just letting us know it's our fault not his. Then things got bad. He did not show up one week because of rain, and he couldn't fit us in later in the week...which I understand completely. Then the next week he said he was coming, but days went by and nothing...so at the end of the week I messaged him and asked if he was coming, and he said that he didn't have anywhere to put our grass clippings, so no he wasn't. He never even contacted us to let us know that he was having an issue, just gonna no-show. The following week I texted him to ask if he'd let me know when he was on his way so I could clear the yard of the kids toys. He told me that he was not going to allow me to be "checking in on him" and that it wasn't a good fit. He then said he was dropping us the same day he was supposed to show. This guy really treated us wrong and I don't want it to happen to anyone else. We now have a jungle for a lawn and are leaning on a great referral to come fix the mess.
