North Point decides to aerate, right after hurricane Florence rolls through with her four inches of rain. When they are done, the chopped up sod is lying atop six inch high piles of soil and what was once described by many as "The most beautiful lawn in Manchester" now looks like a plowed field. No problem for North Point though, they can just "stomp it down". And they do just that. Then they cover it all over with a layer of sticks and dirt and drive away. I have contacted them, their response is "I understand your frustration" but they are not going to do anything more. Maybe they think I will hire them to restore it. The measure of a company can be taken by observing what they do when something goes wrong. In North Points case that measurement is nothing. read more

NorthPoint outdoors installed my underground sprinkler system several years ago. I called them six weeks ago for a service call because the system was leaking, not functioning in one zone, and losing lots of water. It took two weeks for them to respond to the service call. When they did arrive, They chose to clean the valve and said that they felt that that should fix the problem. Later that day the valve continue to malfunction and I had to call him three times to schedule a return visit. Meanwhile the system leaked for two more weeks. This service call (plus some other work they did) cost $832. I paid it without question within two days of the first visit. My insistent calls got no response for two weeks. I lost a ton of water that we needed to irrigate all the new lawns that I had put in. When they finally did arrive, they dug up the same sprinkler valve and decided to replace it (as they had suggested they might, when they first indicated that the valve might need to be replaced). They sent three people to replace this valve and charged me another $485! Two weeks of calls to explain this excessive charge was finally met with a call that showed no concern for the fact that the original problem was not fixed. The fact that the original fix did not work was my problem and I should understand that all they sell was their time. Needless to say, there are a lot of reputable and customer service oriented irrigation companies out there. The unresponsive, arrogant and hostile response I received proves that this company will never get any of my business again. read more

This place is a major rip off and the guy they have doing the quotes is arrogant. I had the company come out and give me a quote for edging, weed/seed and edging - we left thinking the quote was going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,200-$1,500. While I thought this was on the high end, I thought it was still within the reasonable range. Well, I just received my actual proposal this morning and it is DOUBLED and doesn't even include everything we discussed which was originally going to be $1,500. When I called to ask why the difference, I was told it was because of the mulch. Really, didn't know mulching was $1,500.00. These guys came quite a distance to install my irrigation system. They were fair, organized, courteous and fast. They took the time to patiently explain to me exactly what they were installing and why, and made sure I understood how my system worked before they left my property. I can control any of my irrigation zones through Bluetooth on my phone, either by running them manually or programming run times and intervals from the comfort of my living room. I had Northpoint evaluate my lawn's bare spots in 2020. Northpoint(Bill M.) indicated that the lawn was OK(no disease or insects) and that aerating the lawn followed by overseeding the bare spot with their compost mixture should eliminate the bare spots. Northpoint came by in Sept /2020. (They actually had to come back again because they missed doing about a third of the bare spots initially discussed). My task was to water twice a day which I did. The bare spots partially filled in last Fall where they overseeded. Looking at the lawn this Spring/Now I see that maybe half of the bare areas they overseeded/aerated have new grass growing...so I'm not too thrilled with the result. I asked Northpoint(Bill M.) to come and take a look at the lawn to re-evaluate on 5/11/21. Bill indicated he'd be over(this is on 5/14/21). I e-mailed him 5 additional times since then---NO response. I called the Northpoint office on 6/7/21 and talked with a VP there who asked Bill to contact me...again...not NO response as of 6/23/21. Based on the POOR response to my simple request I will not recommend Northpoint w/o bringing up this "No Response" issue. NOTE: They did do a nice job(coordinated by Jared B.) for me back in 2019 when I needed some yardwork done after a driveway replacement in 2018. read more
