The receptionist is helpful but that's it ! They force you to buy the tanning products that are there and if you don't , you can't tan !

I really, really wanted to like this place. I decided to ignore the negative reviews, and give it a try. Upon walking in, the woman working was super friendly and informative about their packages, but not pushy, which I appreciated. Everything was super clean as well. They only have beds for level 1, which I was a little bummed about. I wanted to tan my legs, so I went with the bed anyways. I've been tanning on and off for about 10 years now, and this was the oldest bed I have ever seen. It was well maintained, and maybe would have been okay for personal use in a home or something, but if you're going to charge people to use equipment, it shouldn't be so outdated. Anyways.. I paid the $10, laid in the claustrophobic bed with no fan for 15 minutes, and left sweaty and still pale. If this review was based purely on customer service, it'd be 5 stars. Ultimate Tanning - The only bed they offer - Tanning Near Me - Milford, Massachusetts

So I am really torn about this place. I bought two different packs of minutes one for the medium and one for the strong. I did between the two like 6 - 8 sessions but I didn't really get a color, unfortunately! I get so dark normally, so easily, so I was a little upset that it didn't happen here. I love the service, the people are really nice and know there things. Also despite that the place is an older store it's EXTREMELY CLEAN! That plays a huge role for me and it should everyone. I would give them 5 stars for service, 5 stars for cleanliness and 4 stars for prices (because they are very fairly priced). Yet unfortunately I need to give a 0 Stars for the equipment because it did nothing :/ I might return at some point, so fingers crossed!! read more

The one star is for the staff that is the only good thing about this place. The owner is nothing but a low life. I paid by the month it was taken out of my bank account and when they shut down I lost my time and he refused to give my time back. He said we needed to sign back up again, which I did not. This place likes to delete your comments when you expose them for what they truly are. I will repeat myself again. Thoughts: I have been to ultimate tanning MANY times. I will not state names, the staff knows if they're reading this. Many times I have came in and have been greeted by intoxicated individuals. I have had one of the workers throwing up in the bathroom while I wait in the front. The beds are old and were sold over from another tanning salon. Bulbs are weak and need to be replaced, with grime all inside. The owner Mark is very rude to customers and employees. Many people have canceled their services because he refuses to talk to anyone even if you are speaking directly to him. Prices are constantly being raised which is another reason why people cancel their services. I have more but eh I think that's is enough. read more

I am a "fake bake" enthusiast and have just switched my membership from a Quincy location to the Ultimate Tanning salon in Milford. I hate it. I dislike the snotty teenagers who perform customer service with a half assed attempt at ennui. The first two weeks that I went to Ultimate Tanning, the bathroom was on the fritz. How can you operate a personal service business with no toilet available to clients? Then, the first blistering hot day, I entered the store and it was so unbearably hot that the front door was open to let in air. The tanning machines had completely overpowered the inept air conditioner so that the entire place was a sauna. I couldn't even last my time in the tanning bed because I was near heat exhaustion. When finished, I was literally dripping with sweat and there was no towel available to blot my brow. I was utterly disgusted. I lodged a complaint with the useless attendant who pointed out that there was nothing she could "personally" do about the air conditioner, but she verified that it was on, and working perfectly. Since I am a regular tanner, I know that other facilities manage to crank up the air conditioning to a level that offsets the heat generated by the tanning beds. I went down the road a piece and found another salon....which had adequate air conditioning and switched my membership. I've been going for 2 months.have some color but for going 4 times a week for 2 months I'm still pretty white.only one booth works.and u have to turn halfway cause the bulbs r only new on one side.and the rest of the booths don't give u any color.the bed is so old but does give you some color.after my 4 month membership ends I won't be coming back unless they get new equipment read more

Terrible customer service. Multiple times they close their doors hours before they are advertised to close. I was double charged for a month membership and never got my money back. Very bad. Also the way they keep your info on file is to have you write your credit card number down on a piece of paper and then keep it in a founder in the front of the store. Constantly rose prices of memberships and when I went on a week vacation they canceled my membership so that I had to pay the enrollment fee again along with the extra charge per month of my membership. read more

They canceled all memberships as of December 31st.and doubled their prices.so I haven't been back.now their charging my bank my old membership fee! Need to speak with the owner cause my membership was supposed to be canceled.there equipment is old and they got a few new machines so now they doubled their fees so I took my business elsewhere read more

Just left Ultimate Tanning and will not be returning. Since the tan has not settled I am not sure on the finished product, this review doesn't have to do with the results of the service, rather the ppl in this establishment... This was my very first time getting a spray tan so I was nervous about it. Someone recommended Ultimate Tanning because they had used the Mystic spray tan booth and loved it. When I walked in the woman at the desk was in the middle of a conversation with a friend who was visiting her, no biggie, after a min or two she acknowledged me I explained that this was my first time and I was nervous. She did nothing to help ease my concerns, but rather made me even more nervous. She knew nothing of the product and couldn't even vouch for its results. All she could say to reassure me was "people come back". Oooook...then came time to decided what color I wanted, again she was not helpful....I made my uneducated decisions based on nothing but a guess and intuition. Then she attempted to "explain" how it would work, and by that I mean she literally read the poster that is in the room with the spray tan booth to me. Never giving more advice or tips on how to do this. Instead it was "well I'll let you read this". When all was said and done I came out still trying to be optimistic and cheerful and said "ok well I guess we will see how it turns out!" She never even responded to me just kept watching whatever she was watching on her tablet. No "thanks for coming" no response to the person taking to her, never even looked up or waved goodbye. I have been in customer service all my life, and that was one of the most awkward and rude experiences I've had. Oh and she's complained about other employees in front of me about being "dumb" but she can't explain the products at the establishments she is working at so I can only imagine how the other "dumb" employees are. The first reviewer I think is way over dramatic/exaggerating about the place or just really has no clue what she's talking about! It is really not like that at all! I do not go tanning anymore due to being freaked out about skin cancer and aging, but I was once a seasoned tanner (still am when it comes to outdoor sunbathing). I have gone here for various services since the place has opened. As for the prices, you can't beat it. This place has the cheapest tanning packages in the area and you get a lot for your money. The bulbs are changed very often and they are very powerful, even just rhe basic booths pack a lot of punch. I have gone to tanning salons in Boston that charge a lot more and I get hardly any color. I go once at Ultimate Tanning in the basic booths for a very short amount of time and leave with good color. They have a really good selection of lotion packets and have really good specials running a lot. The place is clean. The booths and beds are cleaned. Yes, they can be very hot towards the end of the day because this place is busy. When booths and beds are run a lot they get hot, when they are run back to back, they get even hotter. Who would have thought that?! :P When you have those running, an airconditioner has a hard time competeing with them. What the first reviewer said about the staff just isn't true. Maybe it's her own negative attitute that made the girls there not be their nicest?! I have never had an issue with the staff there. I even left my purse in the tanning booth once, and I was called right away and informed that it was there. They were VERY nice. The hair cuts at this place are great too. Again, for the price, you get a really good quality hair cut (at least with Brittany -sp?). I have got hair cuts from salons on Newbury Street in Boston, paid ALOT more, and the haircut was the same quality I have recieved here. It's not high end, but for the money this place is a great deal. It's obvious why it's so busy. read more

I like this place. Well priced, clean enough for my needs, easy in and out. The tanning booths are basic models (I only use the stand up ones and can't speak to any others) but they give the expected color. I've noticed new bulbs being used, swapped, installed, so that's a plus. A previous review made note of a young groups of employees, which is true, but they have been nothing but nice to me. read more

Extremely rude staff. I would NEVER go back there again. Unfortunately, this website made me pick 1 star in order to post the review (I wouldn't rate it half a star) While it is cheaper than most of the other places around here - I would gladly give my business to anywhere else. I did pay for a package but after the way I was treated by the little snot behind the counter I don't think I will be going back. Too bad money is tight- guess I'll just have to write it off as a couple bucks lost. Also- they may want to check thier website...the word ACHIEVE is spelled wrong....really? I agree with KR, Irma is quite over dramatic. I myself am an experienced tanner. I have tanned all over the greater Milford area and have come to enjoy Ultimate Tanning. You will NOT find a cheaper unlimited monthly package for a Level 2 booth. The staff has always been friendly and super accommodating. They allow me to request whichever stand-up booth I prefer to tan in, some booths are warmer than others. The booths are clean and trashes are changed daily. I've used the bathroom before and it was clean as well. I've had my hair blown out there on numerous occasions and it came out great. The AC is always cranking but it's going to be hot when you come put of a booth after ten minutes. I've never felt it hot when I entered the front of the salon. There are also plenty of towels to use and I've never seen them run out and I've been tanning there daily for over a year now. Ultimate Tan is my all time favorite place to tan and I don't think anyone can beat the price or service you get there! read more
