She spent a great deal of time getting to know my mother so she could select just the right caregiver for her. And that she did. My mother didn't want anyone coming to her house and wasn't thrilled with this whole idea, but has now been won over. Her caregiver is extremely reliable, kind, patient, and honest. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone in need of such services.

Elizabeth was just who we were looking for in a Doula and she proved to be more valuable than we…read morecould have known. This was our first child and I was hoping to have as natural a birth as possible in a hospital. Foremost we wanted someone to help lead us through the process - to be helpful to me and also to my husband. She answered all our questions and went over all the procedures to answer the questions we didn't even know we had. As I passed my due date, she worked with me to find ways to naturally induce labor in several different modalities. Throughout my labor, my husband used her as a resource to help comfort me and she was exceptionally attentive to all my needs. She always worked within the boundaries of what we were comfortable with and was never judgmental about our birth plan. In the end, I had to be induced and our plan changed drastically. She didn't skip a beat and helped us stay as close as possible to the intention of our plan. Once the baby was born, she stayed to help me start breastfeeding and to get us situated in the new room. I am ever so grateful to her for everything that she did and would recommend her to anyone looking for a Doula. I also took part in Elizabeth's Yoga for Birthing class and found it very helpful. It was a great substitute for a LaMaze class because we went over all the different parts of labor and the choices that we were going to have to make. She also gave us poses and breathing to do in each of the different stages of labor and I made a lot of use of these throughout my labor. I highly recommend the class as well.

I've been going to see Amy Wohl for almost a year, and she's been very helpful and encouraging in…read moreour sessions. First and foremost, Amy can't "fix" you. In fact, only you can fix you. But Amy can help you see that, and she can then give you guidance and the tools to fix, adjust to or change whatever it is you're going through. Amy is honest and sometimes plainspoken, but she's also compassionate. She won't sugar coat things for you, but she won't brow beat you either. From personal experience, I know that some talk therapists can fall into the trap of saying your problems are everyone's fault but your own or that they're all completely your fault, neither of which is truly helpful. One of my favorite things about working with Amy is that she is more of a motivator or coach than anything else. She's very much aware that your physical well-being is directly connected to your mental and emotional well-being, and she's always suggesting physical things--like running, biking, swimming, or even a leisurely walk--that will ultimately help your mental and emotional state. And she's always in favor of making a solid plan. "What do you want to change? What do you want to achieve? What does that look like in your life? Then how do you get to that point?" These are some of the questions Amy will ask of you, and if you're willing to do the work, she'll help guide you through the steps necessary to answer them. Another thing I like about Amy is that she doesn't suggest prescription medication as a knee-jerk reaction for treatment. Prescription medication can be and often is a necessary aspect of therapy for many, many people, and Amy has said that herself, but she also prefers to seek out a non-prescription route for treatment first. I have and will continue to suggest to anyone looking for a good talk therapist to reach out to Amy Wohl and tell her a bit about yourself.
