My experience working for FreedomCare changed drastically after the major layoffs in April 2025. Prior to that point, the company had a positive culture, strong teamwork, and a work environment that felt supportive and enjoyable. After the restructuring, however, the overall atmosphere and management approach shifted significantly. The new leadership introduced after the layoffs created challenges that deeply affected team morale and employee retention. Many concerns raised by staff about management style, communication issues, and team support were not meaningfully addressed, even when escalated to higher‑level leadership and HR. As a result, employees continued to resign month after month without any visible effort from the organization to understand or resolve the underlying issues. Another major concern was the inconsistency in work‑from‑home expectations. When I was hired, I was told I would only need to be in the office once every few months. After the layoffs, office requirements changed frequently, with some employees required to go in multiple times a week. Staffing decisions also impacted office coverage, which in turn placed additional pressure on U.S. representatives and created a risk of audit failures--issues that employees were then held responsible for. Overall, the environment became increasingly stressful and unpredictable, with little emphasis on employee well‑being or job satisfaction. While the company once offered a great experience, the changes following April 2025 made it difficult to remain motivated or supported. They're the worst. You can't reach anyone and they never call you back. They've messed up inputting schedules before even after verifying them. It's been months since my son's Caregiver has been trying to take the test to be certified for a bonus and raise. Months and they STILL won't get back to him. If I could give 0 stars I would. Several times I experienced this company inefficiency at communication and standardization. My client was hospitalized and when they were released and discharge papers were submitted. Freedom Care said the papers were not sufficient because the word "discharge" and the date were not next to each other on the papers. I was told I could not work until new papers were presented. I had clocked in and worked one day before they had informed us the papers were ineligible. I did not receive payment for that day and I had to call to ask about it. On this phone call they told me I could have worked while we waited for new discharge papers, so I missed out on a 4 days of pay because of misinformation. I also missed 4 days of work because 3 representatives said the papers were I eligible but then a 4th representative reached out after 4 days and said the papers were eligible. I applied to become a caregiver for my grandmother, who is wheelchair bound and needs full time assistance with daily tasks. Despite her condition and me telling them her whole health history Freedom Care denied her without even coming to see her for themselves to give a real evaluation they instead made that determination from a phone call claiming she wasn't considered not "unable-bodied." enough a few weeks later so this whole thing is extremely frustrating and it feels like false advertising, as their service claims to support individuals exactly like her. I provide round the clock care with little to no rest, and to be dismissed like this is both disheartening and infuriating. This company seriously needs to be investigated for misleading claims what they advertise is not what they deliver. read more

I worked as a CNA with a family through Freedom Care. They were great . Pay was always on time and at Christmas we received nice gifts as thank you's, such as Apple ear buds, plus a goodie box of uniforms, gloves, etc. I would work with this company again. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH. You can NEVER talk to the same person. They say calls are recorded yet they do not have the info from your last call. When you ask why the previous person did not do what they told you they would do. Thier response was always I can't speak to what another person told you. Everytime you call you get a different answer to the same questions. Took me three months of caring for my Mom before I received one check. I left a job making 50 dollars an hour to care for my Mom. I went three months with no pay !!! Then my Mom would go into the hospital.You case would be put on hold because you were not caring for your loved one LOL. When your Mom is in the hospital and she can not understand some of the doctors and treatment. You spend at least 8 hours a day with her in the hospital. After she would come home would take a week to get services put back in place. I could go on forever ultimately my Mom passed at home . I'm a disable bed/bound patient living in New York with 7/24 services. I had stroke in February 2022. I ran out of options, freedom care is so unprofessional. I believe everyone should know how bad and poorly disable patients are treated at Freedom Care. When I get someone on the phone they're either eating, or children in the background. They never give the correct information nor transfer me to someone that knows or can help me. Customer service reps are morons, lacking basic knowledge, communication and personal skills. Most can't do basic math. I Have a caregiver everyday who does a good job. The main office finds it necessary to call me on the phone all the time for wellness checks. They are relentless with these useless phone calls. Have been trying to onboard a second caregiver for my mother since 11/21/22. The caregiver has sent her paperwork numerous times, and of course, they claim that they never recieved it. Then, they claim that they did receive everything and the caregive is ready to be onboarded during the first week of April. Then, the "care coordinator" is on vacation, then, the caregiver's application is canceled, then, she's ready to be onboarded, then, they don't have all of her documents, then, they stop replying to my email. They don't return calls. They give a different story each time. Meanwhile, my mother is suffering and so is my 76 year old aunt, who has been left to care for her. To top things off, they threaten to reduce the hours my mother has been allotted to receive care because "we can't seem to find a caregiver." I'm not certain if they are rally just THAT incompetent or if lousy, malicious customer service is just their business model. read more
