DJ helped her narrow down everything she needed, and what truly made my heart skip a beat was when she said, "This is what I buy for my nieces." That personal touch meant so much. She even went above and beyond by checking the back for a product that wasn't on the shelf, and she found it for us. When it was time to check out, Emma noticed that we had spent enough to receive the adorable summer tote promotion. Unfortunately, they were out on the sales floor. This review is being posted out of frustration and annoyance. What should've been a quick curbside pickup turned into waiting for nobody to come outside and help us. As soon as Jess pulled into a designated pickup spot, she checked in and we waited. 10min went by, one person came up after us and parked in the other spot. The person was greeted by what appeared to be someone in charge of the store, proceeded to come out and sign some papers for them. A few more minutes went by, then they proceeded to go back into the store. No greeting, no check in with us. Nothing. Jess decided to call the store and see what was happening. She spoke with an associate and they said the would be with her in a moment. All together when they finally came out, it was about 15min for a pickup order. The same girl who happened to bring out her order, was the same girl we saw looking in our direction multiple times before leaving the counter 15min later to bring our stuff to us. Her name was Asia. This experience is always the same, it's frustrating and annoying as something so simple as placing a curbside pickup order, seems to be such a hassle for them. The customer service and the sense of urgency needs to better. It seems more convenient for them for you to just go inside, cause you're gonna get ignored any other way than having it shipped. I came into this Ulta location for help matching a foundation shade. I already know the brand and product I use and only wanted a lighter shade. The associate kept insisting I use a completely different line instead of listening to what I was asking for. I explained myself multiple times, but she still pushed another brand and then suggested taking me to someone else instead of actually helping. The staff did not feel friendly or engaged, and the experience came off as lazy and dismissive. I was visiting from out of town and was honestly surprised by how unwelcoming the environment felt. Each time I've come in, employees are clustered at the front, talking to each other instead of helping shoppers. I walked around for nearly an hour without a single offer of assistance, and when I finally checked out, I felt like I was interrupting their social time. Tori that was working at 11:31 am had a really disappointing experience with Tori at this Ulta. I was looking at nail polish when she came up and, in a very rude tone, said "do you need something?" I asked if the shade leaned more pink, and she quickly (and with attitude) told me "no, it's a flesh color" and walked off without trying to help further. As she left, she also assumed I had been testing the polish and said, "just so you know, you can't try it on -- if you do, tell me because I have to damage it out." Her entire demeanor was unfriendly no smile, no effort to assist, just dismissive and unpleasant. I even tried asking her another product question later and she still acted like she didn't want to help. WORST EMPLOYEE WORKERS super rude for no reason I understand busu hours but there's no need to be rude

I have visited the Visalia store several times, and every time I feel unwelcome and the staff are unfriendly, particularly the people working the registers. Recently, I visited the store and had a simple return & was shocked by how uninterested & annoyed the staff appeared, including a lady who stated she was the manager. I attempted to provide feedback about the reason I was exchanging the item ( one of their products gave me a mild allergy reaction). They seemed annoyed and channeled their energy into making a simple exchange an uncomfortable and negative experience for me. I had purchased the product recently (about 2 weeks ago), had my original receipt, provided Ulta account, provided phone number, and original form of payment, yet the team INSISTED that a Driver's license or ID is required. I found this unusual and unnecessary. Next time I will likely visit the Fresno store who is much more friendly and contrary to the Visalia store, appears happy to have customers visit their store. We hope the Ulta Admin Team takes the time to coach the Visalia team to have more positive and helpful customer interactions. read more

Yesterday, I purchased items, their system approved my card, it showed as approved for the purchase. When they tried to print a receipt, rep said the translation didn't go through. I checked my bank on phone which showed the transaction as pending. My bank shows all transactions as pending 1st 24 hours. They wouldn't give me the items I bought and they wouldn't reimburse. Said I had to talk to my bank. This morning, my bank deducted the charges from my account! I went back to Ulta and was told by their supervisor that they have no control over my bank! No refund, not willing to give me the items... Terrible customer service, no situational damage control. While visiting my husband's family in Visalia, I found myself in need of a few essential items. However, what I experienced during my visit was quite shocking. To begin with, I entered a beauty store where no one bothered to greet me. Instead, a MAC makeup artist provided me with a judgmental look. I only went in for Bumble and Bumble hair care, Dior foundation, and a moisturizer. As I was browsing, a woman named Jackie from Estée Lauder approached me and kindly offered to color match me. Initially, I declined her assistance, but she insisted, and I reluctantly agreed. Unfortunately, the shade she provided was completely wrong for me, which made her appear visibly unsettled and nervous. Meanwhile, I noticed the store manager, a dark-haired and slightly overweight lady, loudly berating one of the employees. Through their conversation, I overheard one of the makeup girls mentioning that the manager, Susie, was chastising a new hire. This whole incident took place in broad daylight, with other customers present and a line forming. It struck me that managers should exercise more caution in their communication with their team members. As a customer, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being unsafe and uncomfortable in that particular establishment. I didn't want to support such a place with my money, so I made the decision to leave and take my business to Target instead. read more

The reps aren't friendly, unprofessional and tried to force me to sign up for rewards when I made my purchase which I declined over and over. Then when I needed to return a product, I had my receipt and they said I had to have a ph#/account. I emailed their customer service and they are just as inept. Returned the OPI gel kit because it didn't fully dry. Purchased last Friday returned today with box and receipt. Cashier was nice manager came over to issue my refund then forgot to apply my reward points and my coupon. She seemed flustered so I asked her to issue me a refund and then I would make a separate purchase for the two items she said she couldn't do that because she didn't have store credit cards?! Last year my ulta account was hacked 7 times! I had to resolution with corporate. They are not located in the United States. When I go to ulta (has become less), I now no longer provide a phone number to add points. My points were being used in the hacking ordeal. Every time- every single time I decline a phone number, they ask for a family member , or to signed up again. I declined, and then a cashier tells me if I don't use a phone number I cannot return items and if I do with a receipt that they will only give me 40% of my money back because I am not using a phone number with the company. And I flipped over the receipt and explains the returning process and nowhere Does it say that Ulta will give me 40% of my money with receipt. I called corporate and that was false statement. Online shopping is the way to go every time I've gone in store the associates and cashiers are so rude. Today I just needed a couple of things my cashier Annette did not even say anything to me. She instead talked to her co workers through the whole transaction and then once completed she waves my bag of items up in front of my face. I went in there a few days ago with my mom and Jay A. was so attentive and helpful. He was very kind and had great customer service!

I purchased two cc cream kits, which came with two sample minis each for $49. I went to return one of them (cc cream) and the cashiers, Deisy and another one were so rude and made me feel as if I had stolen them because the individual products weren't scanned when I first purchased them. That's their employee's fault and somehow even if the cashier messed up, I was still charged $49 for each of them. Deisy and another cashier were mumbling things in Spanish as if I didn't understand them and speaking in loud tone when they addressed me to imply I had stolen the merchandise. I told them they how they made me feel, and Deisy's apology was insincere, especially when she said "sorry IF I made you feel that way." I had a hair appt scheduled with Haylee. The experience was less than pleasurable from the beginning. Haylee was short with me at the desk when I was checking in. She then proceeded to tell me it would be a $30 up charge to wash, dry and then cut my hair instead of wash, cut, then dry. I ended up purchasing $300+ worth of products but after thinking about my experience and talking to others about it I will be returning and taking my business elsewhere. Here's my experience: I asked to get color matched, she tells me they are completely out of makeup sponges so she proceeds to hand me a qtip so I could apply the foundation myself, when I asked her if she had makeup brushes she said no, she's been working there for over 4 years and still waiting for her makeup belt.... she then thinks she's done helping me as she's walking away at this point I'm just flabbergasted.. I'm thinking to myself I asked to get color matched not just get handed a qtip... She walks away... as I'm standing in front of the mirror swabbing the qtip on my skin for a color match I get approached by a gal I ask her to color match me... she has a makeup brush belt, I'm thinking to myself finally I'll be able to get color matched...... but instead she pulls out a bag full of clean MAKEUP SPONGES after the other gal said they were completely out.... I asked her if she could use her makeup brushes but she goes on to say that she only uses two and they were not cleaned..... her makeup belt had well over 10 brushes but she couldn't have used one clean one on me for a color match. My skin is flawless clean probably healthier and cleaner than the two gals that were useless to help me. For them to not use a makeup brush to color match me made me feel insecure about my skin I don't know why it was treated the way I was. No customer should be treated the way I was. I have tried to really like my local Ulta, but it's always out of the birthday gifts and rewards gifts for it's Rewards Members. The staff are pretty rude, usually 85% of the time and the displays are a mess. Anytime they have special promotions or products they are always "out of stock or sold out".
