A trial relocation back to my home town has lead me to have to find a new place to get my ever…read moregraying hair cut. Once again, I took to the Yelp to look for a salon here in the Central Valley. Alas, I was unable to find a salon with any Yelp reviews worth the chance, but I did come across the Starting Line-Up Barbershop. Let me say that I have not been in a barbershop in probably 2+ decades, but I'm glad to have found this one. I booked my first appointment online with Roger and received amazing treatment. My hair can be difficult to cut due to cowlicks, and a bizarre growth pattern, but Roger handled all of it like a champ. The cut was perfect, the service was exceptional and I'm glad to have found my new hair place. This is a very cool barbershop. No frills, unlike the salons of SoCal that I was used too, but at the end of the day, a great haircut is what I want. I just had my second appointment this morning and it was even better than the first. Reasonable prices with monthly memberships available. Great service. Clean space. Great music. Discount for booking online. Yelp check-in deals, too! #score

She is very patient and thorough with her haircuts ensuring I am satisfied with the length and style before I leave, which I greatly appreciate. I even began taking my toddler to get his hair trimmed as he takes after me and has naturally curly hair. I was worried about the experience as a whole because he is only 1.5 years old and not the best at sitting still but Christen was incredible. She was so patient and kind. She had lollipops to distract him (which was a huge plus, lol). When he would get overwhelmed she just stopped and would talk to him letting him get calm again and then went back to the cut. She even talked him through what she was doing which I thought was so kind. I highly recommend Christen! She is a very kind and caring person. I feel as though I'm visiting with a good friend when I go to get my haircut. The vibes of the shop are fun and carefree and I appreciate the little toy table and activities provided for the little clientele.

He called to check on her availability and she was graciously able to schedule him a same day appointment. Parking is a little sparse on the street but that's just the nature of the area. We are able to park right out in front though. Her shop is really nice inside too. The window in front lets lots of natural lighting in. She also kindly offered us to the water when we arrived. We were able to watch tv while we waited. The product retail area below the tv was also very nice and well organized. I loved the curio cabinet with the vintage barbering and styling implements. You can tell that the aesthetic of the shop had a lot of thought put into it. It's not like that everywhere you go and I was impressed. We didn't have to wait long at all before she was ready to cut his hair. He brought a photo in with him of what he wanted and Christen was very thorough in her consultation and making sure they were on the same page in regards to the haircut. She also has excellent technical abilities and is clearly very skilled. His haircut looked great and was exactly what he wanted. We look forward to being regular clients!

Well, not only she did a sloppy job putting the hair color on where I asked her to remove the color off my forehead and on my ears, but after she washed it, there was still so much left over that when I would scratch my head, my fingernails would turn black. Inside my ears were all black! I told her that and she looked at me like she didn't care I said never mind. I blow dried my own hair right there and I just took off with it half wet. She even charged me the entire amount! Stay away from Vivian she's horrible and afterwards I looked up reviews and all the bad ones are on her

I sat there for 30 minutes waiting before I was contacted by the stylist via IG (because that's all they wanted to communicate on). She cancels due to not having a sitter? Unprofessional. I ask if another one of the 3 stylists could do a simple tone and no one could help. Shocking... don't go here unless you want someone to waste your time. Mind you one of the stylists was just sitting there blow drying and styling herself. Not having my instagram information seems to be a personal problem because that's the method of contact YOU choose to put in your policy -YOU should've put it down on your calendar when we booked. I handled myself graciously over DMs but all I wanted to do was cry and get angry. Vivian didn't attempt to rebook me for a later date that would work with my schedule nor offered any compensation for wasting my time. And to the stylists there - she's giving you a bad rep.
