This is a review for the extraordinary Elizabeth Alvarado. I went to her to get a Brazilian, my legs and underarms waxed as a treat to prepare for a wedding weekend. I had never had a Brazilian (or even a bikini wax) before and was very nervous. She immediately put me to ease with her calm and knowledgeable demeanor. Elizabeth is tremendously kind and friendly. Her station is clean and private and she is careful to maintain the best sanitary conditions, which I appreciated greatly. She talked me through all the steps and frequently asked how I was doing and if I needed a break. We had a lovely conversation as if she and I were having coffee, not waxing. I doubt if just any esthetician can do that! When we were done Elizabeth advised me on ways to keep everything smooth like making a scrub with coconut oil - my new favorite moisturizer! I honestly thought getting a Brazilian would be a one time thing, but things really do feel cleaner. I just had my second with Elizabeth and she is the only esthetician I want to see! Honestly was googling hair salons and this one caught my eye. They got my daughters in very quickly even though I thought maybe we'd be waiting to get an appointment for a while. The salon is beautiful and very clean. They offer so many services and have a lot of talented ladies in there. Brooke took care of my 2 girls and gave them the most AMAZING 1st haircut experience. I moved to Central Valley from the Bay Area and have had difficulty finding a Salon comparable to the Salon's I am used to in the Silicon Valley. I found Salon 525 on an internet search they were one of the top three Salon's in Visalia, CA. The receptionist set me up with my stylist Tiffany. She did a fantastic job on my hair. I made a last-minute hair appointments for me and my mom before my graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, the stylist who was supposed to do my hair canceled last minute, and I was disappointed. However, when I called to confirm the cancellation, the stylist who was doing my mom's hair offered to cut mine while my mom was getting her color done. I cannot recommend Natalie enough! After trying numerous salons across the state of California, I finally found my perfect match! Salon 525 is hands down the best. Everything is very clean and the hairstylists are all extremely polite and easy to talk to. I haven't gotten my hair colored in over 6 years and it has been over 10 since trying to go lighter with my hair color. I have a natural copper undertone that is very hard to lighten without it turning orange, and I've had the same hairstyle for the last few years and finally decided it was time for a change. PSA no one is wearing a mask here other than the receptionist. Just in case that matters to you. The owner will begrudgingly put one on if she notices you walk in with one but then will greet you with an attitude and proceed to be passive aggressive about it...even if you didn't ask for her to put one on.... I ended up leaving this salon after spending 5 minutes experiencing Kelli, who was seemingly rude to the other client she was serving before me, who she pointed out was NOT a regular, in front of her. It was a mess of an appointment, she was a mess of a lady, and I'm embarrassed for her. It was such a terrible experience I emailed the owner... who just so happened to be the Kelli I had the unfortunate luck of dealing with. Let me start by saying she was clearly irritated that she "had" to put a face mask on because I had one on, even though I didn't mention it or ask her to do that. She proceeded to criticize the color I wanted (white) which she didn't even have.. (ladies she doesn't like white and will make you feel icky for wanting it) she mentioned her prices $50-pedi $80-mini gel pedi $90- gel pedi LOL I booked a pedi and that was all she had time for so that what we were doing but it was my first time there and I was curious about her services so I was asking about what she offered and THAT seemed to bother her... She was rude the entire time. I've dealt with bad service but this whole interaction was weird and unwarranted BECAUSE I NEVER ASKED HER TO PUT A MASK ON. I was being extra nice with her, trying to diffuse the situation (her attitude) even accepting color I didn't want because it was all she had and again, SHE WAS BEING RUDE so I was trying to go with the flow. So then she starts making comments about the mask and people in Visalia not wanting to wear it when it's hot out and just making it obvious that the mask was her issue.. so me, I'm the problem because no one else was wearing a mask and she wasn't until I got there. I told her she didn't have to wear hers and she said "no it's fine it's not 104 in here" and continues being rude. So naturally feeling extremely uncomfortable and somewhat trapped (my feet were in the water and she was about to start) I started to cry. She noticed so I looked away from her and then she got up and walked away and said "so this is when I ask what school you went to" but I had a lump in my throat because of the crying so she continued "where did you go tell me all of them" in a condescending tone. That's when I tell her I would like to cancel.. mind you she has only gone as far as pulling my foot out and starting to file 1 nail.. she questioned me "cancel???" So I say "yes I would like to leave, don't worry I'll pay" so her tone changes and she says "ok well let me clean you up so you don't slip then I'll charge you up front" we go up front and she charges $25 for enduring the most uncomfortable 5 minutes of her terrible company. As I was paying she said "ok, no questions asked" like wtf? Yeah there are no questions because WE BOTH KNOW WHY I LEFT! So she hands me my card and then, since I'm about to leave I address the mask issue through my tears. I tell her I'm healthy so if I get sick I'll be fine but my 70 year old boss who is fighting stage 4 ovarian cancer could die if she gets sick. I have a family and friends who are at risk.. I care about the people who I could potentially be putting at risk and THAT is why IM wearing a mask.. Kelli read my email and called me to defend herself. She said she wasn't being rude she was just busy. She said she didn't have a problem with wearing a mask, when she CLEARLY did. She said she had no idea I was uncomfortable.. (i guess me crying wasn't a big enough indicator?)She then decided to insult me and ask why, at 28, I wasn't confident enough to speak up and address or confront her about how she made me feel while I was at the salon. That she's been in business for 13 years and her attitude has never been an issue. Hey Kelli, COVID is real and I hope you don't have to find that out first hand before you start wearing a mask without being a jerk. I had a color and cut done. I hate to leave a bad review because the hairdresser I had treats customers very well and was wonderful to work with. I really wanted to love my hair, especially since I requested she try a second time with coloring, as it didn't turn out the way I had hoped the first time around. The second round ended up feeling rushed so I didn't want to ask a third time to fix it. Got my hair done here by Ashleigh Garcia and she did HORRIBLE. Had my hair done by her and when I washed my hair a few days after my hair turned orange. I went to her the first time to go blonde (she had messed it up and said I failed to mention I had color in my hair) so it was brassy when I washed it. Went back to her a SECOND time because I trusted her word on fixing it and she made it WORSE. I referred 2 of my friends to her because they wanted to go blonde as well and she fucked their hair up too. Do not allow this girl to touch your hair she's in it for the money and she does NOT care about her clients or clients hair health. I am so appalled at the service I received at Salon 525. I will be moving to Visalia this Saturday and thought it would be nice to find and build a relationship with a Salon and Sylist in Visalia. (I normally get my hair done at the W salon in Santana Row Santa Clara Ca and they are awesome) I looked online and it seems to be a nice place so I call to make an appointment for the first Monday I will be in town, which would be June 11th but they are closed. Their first available time was Tuesday June 12th so I took it. Yesterday, which was Tuesday the 5th I get an email saying I missed my appointment. I immediately called to let them know about the mistake and they rescheduled me for the correct date. Today, I recieved a text message from the sylist saying "Hello this is a message from salon 525. You have an appointment on Tuesday the 12th. Unfortunately I am unable to service you. You No showed another stylist and I am unavailable". They did not offer to reschedule me on another day or time nor did they apologize for the inconvenience. Nothing!!! I will have to find another Salon. If they can not get it together over the phone, I will not trust them to do my hair! I thought the text was so rude. I'm so upset and have never received this type of treatment. They handled this situation terribly. I hope the owners hear about this and I hope they give some constructive feedback to their employees. read more

Natalie Ellen's has been doing my hair now for 6 months and she's incredible. She's highlighted it, has done a formal updo for me, has given me extensions, deep conditions and has even cut 8 inches off of it. She seriously can do it all! I came to Studio 525 after doing my hair for the past 3 years - I decided I wanted to pamper myself and get my highlights professionally touched up. Diana was my stylist. She was super kind and professional. I explained what I wanted and she totally didn't chastise me for my DIY highlights. I got a full head of highlights and a blow out and she worked quickly but carefully and yet my head didn't hurt once! (Sensitive scalp.) When she was washing my bleach out, I could have fallen asleep it felt so nice! Over all, my whole experience was pleasant and relaxing - just as I had hoped! After reflecting, I had a TERRIBLE experience with Natalie Ellens. She seems like a sweet person but her professionalism as a hairstylist is poor. I came in hoping to get my hair "fixed", I had really brassy hair to my roots and it was two toned with the bottom of my hair being more blonde. When I walked in and told her what I wanted I can tell she was not confident in herself but put a positive spin on it saying that she could work something out. She DID NOT foil my hair like it should have been, I should've said something but as she is the stylist I put my trust in her hands. I felt like it was la-di-dah when it came to bleaching my hair and getting the brass out. I noticed that she was talking with her coworkers about something after work to which I felt like my time was RUSHED. What should've taken 2-3 hours was done in an hour and a half. I could tell she was rushing the process as my hair did not get to set in the bleach for the amount of appropriate time it needed (will show in picture). Then she OVERCHARGED me with literally not drastic changes and all because she said "because of all the products I put in your hair." I regret paying her that much. I felt that she was inexperienced dealing with darker hair. What made me more upset is I called to make an appointment with a stylist who deals with blondes and explained my situation hoping they would know what stylist would be best fit for me. They failed at that. It's unfortunate that one person ruined my experience at the salon. I will not be returning. read more

I spent half an hour finding parking downtown and walking to the salon in 100 degree heat, when I came in she wasn't there, the front desk girl told me my phone was disconnected and had no way of contacting me and sent me on my way. Worst haircut I've ever received and was charged $80. Looks like Stevie Wonder cut my hair. My stylist was not skilled enough to cut my hair or style it. After my hair was properly dried to looked like I had chunks of hair missing, it was all different lengths. Ultimately, I had to get someone else to fix it and the only solution was to cut it chin length, it was previously shoulder length. Ended up broke with a horrible cut. Don't go here. read more
