This particular location is located next to Sprouts which is convenient. Plenty of parking. The shop is a little overwhelming with all the selections and bright lights. Thankfully they have it marked nicely so you know where each product is located. It gets really crowded the past few times I've been there. It takes at least 15-20 minutes to check out. wow, this is a good Ulta. It's not the best. The help on shade matching, or finding certain products is definitely underpar to any other Ulta that I've been to throughout this country. The service is overall OK but nothing special and definitely underwhelming. Same with the selection of inventory, they typically have what you need, but definitely not always. Sometimes certain brands are just over picked and simply out of stock. I don't know where there's an Ulta close by so if this is your only option, it's not bad, but it definitely wouldn't be my top pick. read more

I've been shopping at this location for years. Today was my last day shopping at this or any ulta. I have never had an unpleasant experience at ulta before today. I was profiled and followed throughout the store, made to feel totally uncomfortable while shopping and BROWSING at this store, just because of the way I choose to express myself through my clothing. Because I present as a hippie. I am so humiliated and honestly pissed off. What is a makeup/skin care store if not to browse. Adios, I'm over capitalism, consumerism and corps anyway, but this seals the deal. With all due respect Ulta, if people can't shop in your store without being trailed, what's the point in having a brick and mortar. Leslie was patient and talented (and fun!) and helped me select the best products and colors, and helped with proper application, too. I have been at this location at least 2x times now. Each visit either left me happy or in my feelings. I am not by any means a professional make-up artist or is an avid make-up wearer. I have been learning about make-up from a dear friend. This person knows what they are doing and I really learned a lot. Well, after a little time passed, I started purchasing my brushes and make-up items, some on-line and some from other beauty stores. I have been to the one in Hunt Valley for a surprise facial by hubby and the customer appreciation is felt. At the Towson location, it is a touch and go. I have encountered a few helpful sales personnel that were able to assist me in my search for specific items. My first visit would not have taken place if I didn't have issues with the on-line shopping cart. I came in for mostly primer and concealer makeup and possible additional items. I knew what I wanted without any assistance, but felt a bit uneasy because a female security guard was nearly watching my every move and was on top of me while I struggle to find the shade I wanted at the NYX brand of make-up area. The concealers were placed at the very bottom close to the floor and it was hard to see the shades or the name of the shades. So it was easier for me to sit on the floor to find the shade. At some point I was able to get up, even while the guard watched over me. I really wanted to just leave at that point, because I never saw the security leave my side or attend to other patrons of other races than POC. But I had an event coming up and I wanted to do a trial run before my event, so I just tried to get all that I needed and leave. And this visit was during a week day in the evening. My 2nd visit, I returned on a Saturday and it was packed. It was difficult finding help or to identify who actually worked there on the floor that day. Several ladies were very sweet and helpful. This time there was a male guard and he was quite not all in the way, but you can tell he was doing his job. I guess if I want to feel more at ease to shop on a Saturday. I purchased more brushes, lip pencil, and other make-up items. By the time I was ready to check out, the line was much smaller. I give 5 stars to each and every individual who helped me find what I was looking for and even offered additional tips. Overall, for the security I had to give 3 stars. Not every POC customer steal, and definitely nor do they need to be watched every step they take to browse. Every customer maybe a new customer and do not know the lay of the store and might need time to adjust and look around. Maybe hire more staff for the floor to help. I truly understand people steal, but that female security left a bad impression on me. read more

Solid experience. I was able to go in, and with a little searching found someone on the floor to take me directly to what I was looking for. The sales person gave me a very detailed product overview that helped me make my decision. The line was pretty long, and there was only one cashier--which was not preferable--but the line moved pretty quick. The items in the bins near the front (the last minute buy area) had some good things, but they were labeled incorrectly for some of the prices. FYI- They do have an order online and pick up in the store option, although I have not yet used that service. read more

I came in after having a rough day. I was on Google looking up some products to start using when Adrianna came up and asked if I needed help. She simply changed my entire day around by being so friendly and helpful. DO NOT GET SCAMMED I recently visited this location to pick up a couple of basic necessities and to my dismay, the Duo lash glue box was completely empty. I believe that employees should be diligent about making sure the products they keep in stock are still sellable to consumers. Our saleslady was awesome! My cousin and I are older ladies ( i'm disabled) and we took a makeup class. The next day (11/03/2019) we arrived at the Ulta on Goucher Boulevard in Towson. They were really busy, and we waited for someone to help us. We managed to get Chom ( I think that was her name), and she was DA BOMB!! Not only did she help us both with choosing makeup, she showed us how to use and apply the makeup. The store was short handed, so she had to go to the register to help out the other cashiers, but still managed to give us great customer service. She helped my cousin pick a shade of red lipstick suitable for her deep skin tone, and was so pleasant, despite having to bounce between helping us and he co-workers. I go to this Ulta quite often and spend plenty of moola here, so it's very unfortunate that the employees always bring me down! No one ever greets me or smiles. This last visit the security guard woman decided to hand me a bag for carrying things -- is that her job or? After I finished checking out I noticed the brand I had purchased was buy 2 get one, the cashier didn't even bother to mention it although I am sure it popped up on her little screen. LaMonica assisted us and her customer service was amazing. She didn't try to upsell me and stayed within my budget. She also showed us the best products in my price range. She knew the products well. While I was searching for my color in a foundation I asked her from some advice but she was too busy flirting with the security guard. I decided to interrupt their conversation to ask for help. The attitude I received from her was unreal. She told me she was talking and another Beauty expert could help out. Mind you there was no one in site. I explain to her that I needed help with Mac though. She proceeded to talk to the security guard. At this point I left right out the store. I came in for a haircut on 7/28, and the hair stylist, Kim basically just chopped off all of my hair 3 inches above what I asked for. When I came in, my hair went halfway down my back and I asked her to take out the split ends, and only take off an inch, and she made my hair almost shoulder length. From beginning to end, it was a horrible experience. She didn't clean up the hair from the last person sitting in the chair, she didn't ask me where my natural part was, she just brushed it out and started cutting, she didn't verify what color I wanted my hair - when I told her I wanted jet black, she took it upon herself to make it natural black (which for those of you who don't know, is slightly brown). I told her it was too short, and she said that it's because I'm turning my head to look at it in the mirror. When I was done with my color and cut, I told her that it was longer on the right side and shorter on the left, so she cut the right side some more, but not evenly, and then styled it with a slight curl in front so I didn't notice the difference in length. I also asked for a clean blunt cut, and she gave me an A-line - which I also addressed with her, and she did nothing about. When I called to speak to a manager, I asked for a refund and a correction, Catlin was really sweet, and tried to do what she could to help, but the store manager, Chrissy Anne told me that they could refund the cut, but not the color, or they could refund the whole thing, but then they wouldn't fix my hair. Since the color and the cut were both wrong and un-fixable, I asked for them to reconsider, and they denied my request. I'm getting married in a couple months, and I have a huge business conference to go to on Wednesday where I'll be with company executives and my shitty ass haircut. Now I'm stuck with a short hair cut and I'll need to get extensions for my wedding. I have been a loyal customer with the Ulta beauty salon for years, and always get my hair cut with them, but after this experience, I will never, NEVER return. I may just be one person, and a number in the system, but I hope you all know that this is how they treat their customers when they mess up. The icing on the cake is that I even tipped the hair stylist $10 because I used to work in the service industry and I survived off of tips, so even though she messed up, I still felt bad for her because it took her 2 hours to mess up my hair. I hope they clean up their act soon and stop hiring messy hair stylists, and start treating their customers with more respect when they are hyperventilating on the phone because they are so upset. read more

Nope. I will never again use the salon or benefit bar at this location. Let's start with Monica at the Benefit Brow Bar. I had been going to another girl there who left. Met Monica who was all too happy to tell me my former esthetician's problems that led to her departure. Also happy to tell me that she had to short sell her house and the moving process. Tacky! So I try the salon where I met Andrea. Andrea took 30 minutes to wax my brows. Granted I am Italian but come on!!! This left me late for hair appointment and amazingly the stylist (who I had never seen before) still wasn't ready for me. I left without a hair cut. No problem there are plenty of other places to get your hair done. I made corporate aware of the problem but amazingly never heard from anyone about it.
