Ask the Community - Studio L Salon

Hi there! I have short (down to my shoulders) hair which has been dyed only once, but it has been damaged. I want to use the keratin treatment but I hear it's very expensive. Can you give me a ballpark on how much it will cost?

Hey Yasmin! For should length hair the keratin would be around $275.00. Let me know if your interested!

Do you have a private rooms for hijab ( women only)? Do you have brazillian blowout ( hair treatment)?

Unfortunately we do not have a separate room. We do however do a keratin treatment, the Cezanne treatment. We not carry the Brazilian Blowout.

Not only did I get a great haircut from Lisa, she is letting me divide the Groupon value into two visits.

Proceed with caution! I was very disappointed with my last…read morehaircut at Hair Envy and won't be going back. I'd been a customer for a long time. I initially went on the recommendation of a coworker. I had left once before when I was unhappy and then again when I moved further away but came back when I was dissatisfied with the cuts I was getting at a salon closer to home. So, I decided to go back to Pilar and Hair Envy. The first cut back was great. I was happy and made a follow-up appointment on the spot. Never again! I walked away with two different haircuts. Of course, you don't notice this until you get home and wash all the product out and try to style it yourself. That's when I noticed one side was shaped and layered and the other side was just a shorter version of what it had been. Just flat and flipped under. God knows what was going on in back! I don't have thin or difficult to handle hair. I came with a blank slate and walked away with a lopsided 'do. I was justifiable upset and I had to wait for her to get back from vacation to go back and have her fix it and even it out. So, I called when she returned and they said to come in anytime and she'd do that. This wasn't the first time I had to do that! That's why I left the first time. I drove all the way to Lutherville from work downtown one night for her to work on my hair again. Well, she cut it shorter and now the side that was flat is layered and shaped and she cut all the layers out of the other side and it's now flatter and longer than the other! I examined it with a skeptical eye when she put product in and ran her fingers through it saying, 'See!? See!?" I didn't see the full effect until I got home and washed it. To say I was pissed off is an understatement. I paid $55 to have my beautiful full head of hair hacked away. Never again! I think she overbooks, hurries and is distracted by people who talk to her. Every time I look in the mirror I alternate between wanting to cry and scream. I can't wait for my hair to grow out. Proceed with caution! **UPDATE: After much thought I called and asked for a full refund including the tip. I didn't feel I should shell out more money to have someone else correct her mistake. She's a co-owner and has been in the business since at least 1997 (when she cut my nearly waist length hair to my shoulders). There's no excuse for this kind of performance. I was ready to go in and ask in person but the receptionist cheerfully took my name and address and offered to send me a check for the full amount with no argument at all. This made me think that 1) this has happened before and 2) they didn't want me going in and raising a stink and having other patrons seeing what a mess my hair was. The upshot is I received the check (which her partner signed) the next day.

I would give A-List beauty no stars if I could. I hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding…read more The trial could not have gone worse. It. Was. A. Joke. A lot of these places have you pay a significant amount of money to do a trial (like $500) because it creates a psychological motivation to continue to do business with them (the sunk cost fallacy). Ladies do not be victim to this- even if you paid $500 and the trial goes poorly, do not give them more money! I paid the non refundable deposit to Ariel Lewis, and gladly paid another company $1,500 just to not look (and more importantly FEEL) like I did after my trial with A-List. The other company was professional, kind, used actual beauty products (see below), let me watch what they were doing, and were friendly. Find a company that works with you for your big day. Not works you for the paycheck. Hopefully this will save you the $500 trial with A-List: Let's start with hair. The biggest red flag was that she wouldn't let me watch while she was doing my hair so that I could be "surprised" - I was surprised all right. She admitted to me she had not looked at the inspo pics they asked me to send in, and asked to see them. She looked at the first one and said "K I got it." She didn't have it, because what was created was a departure from my looks. It wasn't a terrible style if it had been done well. I mentioned concern about the longevity of the look day of, and she said confidently it would last even though I could feel the pins slipping. I said repeatedly my hair texture is fine and doesn't hold curl. She said "Not the way I curl" and then put wax in it to "help." Everyone with fine hair knows wax weighs it down. It did not last. Not even through 90 min minutes of sitting still and getting makeup done (much less a whole wedding...). My trial was done at 11:30am and by 1:30pm my hair had fallen out of the bun into the two sad looped pony tails she had used to create the look, and was in straight tendrils around my face. Not a curl in sight. Even the initial finished looked was frizzy and you could obviously see pins. The best part was that the A-List makeup trial was after hair and she came in and asked "what time my hair trial was?" hahah. "Oh you couldn't tell it just happened? Your teammate just gave me an updo, obviously!" Lol Next was makeup. Ladies. They used E.L.F products. Correct- the products you buy for your nieces and occasionally find at the dollar store. I get it, this isn't the main event, it's just the trial so maybe they use different products day of? If so, that negates the purpose of the trial... I want to have my shades matched and confirmed which is part of the trial one would think. I paid for airbrush makeup- she did zero prep the skin. She pulled the machine out and started spraying- didn't even pin my face framing hair pieces back so there was a distinct line not blended around my face where my hair had been. The airbrush went on cakey and flakey and actually aged me about 10 years. It's not for every skin type so that's part of it, but at least try and prep the skin. I sent Hailey Bieber natural dewey inspo and she did old church lady rosy pink cheeks I am not kidding. Bright. Pink. And round. I looked like a toy soldier, even after I asked her to keep blending. The whole thing was a joke. It also didn't last despite paying for airbrush- which I was grateful for because I would not have gone out looking like that. When I reached out to Ariel Lewis to tell them I would not be using them for my wedding and talk about how disappointed I was, I was intercepted by an admin. Interestingly, I didn't ask for a refund but the very first thing the admin said when I said I wouldn't be moving forward was that I wouldn't get a refund. This exchange told me a lot about how they do business and their priorities. I asked to speak to Ariel to provide feedback. I never heard from her. Guess it's on me to keep reaching out? I was then told I could do the trial again with the same artists. Nah I'm good... If it were my business with my name on it- I would be embarrassed by this. Pics below of hair. I didn't want my face out there on the internet so I didn't post makeup. So- ladies, save yourself the money with A-List. Unless you want a good laugh- My Maid of Honor was there and we still get out the "after" pictures so we can have a good chuckle over wine. I hope this saves another bride the stress and money I wasted on the A-List.

Very POOR Customer Service. Extremely POOR communication. Why does a company refuse to list itself…read moreon Google? So they can avoid all the negative reviews. So it's not a surprise that A-List has no Google listing and minimal reviews available... do the math. It doesn't add up to a reliable and professionally behaving company.
