I made a purchase for p/u 4-10-26 of a single orly nail polish. They pulled an obviously previously opened and used bottle of polish despite still having at least one in tact unopened bottle of polish in stock on the shelf...and luckily I opened the package that was wrapped so tightly you would have thought FT Knox was inside before leaving the store that I went out of the way for this particular item. I can't get inside the head of the person that wrapped it but it seemed intentional that I was given a used bottle of polish since they made it impossible to check before leaving the store with the unecessary wrapping stunt they pulled. Maybe I didn't spend enough money that day. IDK. What I do know is while I stood in line to make an even exchange another customer confirmed that when you pick up orders they usually show them to you ( I have also had that experience with past p/ u orders) to make sure the order is correct. That didn't happen. Again, since it was a single item it didn't seem to matter how much I spent at multiple Ulta locations over the years. I did not feel like a valued customer. Fast forward to today. I waited for an order to be shipped. 4 items. One of which should have been a bargain eye pallette for $6 instead of typical $50 and up (for a decent everyday smoky eye look). The eye pallete had been intentionally destroyed all over the contents of the otherwise in tact shipping package. I deduced that action because the eye pallet was never secured inside the included soiled bubble wrap and the eye pallet was completely closed and not even cracked to make the mess all over the contents inside the shipping envelope appear to be a logical result of shipping or physical damage to the eye pallette. To add insult to the entire experience when I called customer service they couldn't care less about me getting a personal response from a decision maker but offered to replace the items and $5 on my next purchase AS IF I will spend another dime on them so long as I didn't require them to record a formal complaint or allow me the information needed to do it on my own. I asked to speak to a supervisor on the Ulta customer service line and everytime I asked to speak to a supervisor the call was disconnected. They managed to call me back the first time I was disconnected but not the next few times I was disconnected. I would give a negative 10 star review if that was an option. read more

I only go to ulta for a few high priced items a couple times a year. Every time I go to this location I am constantly searching for someone to help me pick a tinted moisturizer or foundation, I always put it off because I am never able to find anyone to help me. Today I went in for my usual items but I was determined to buy a quality tinted moisturizer, and yet again, NOONE to help. The woman at the front counter was nice at first, BUT after I refused to get an ULTA card after she asked me 3 times, she was short and rude. I have to agree with the other negative reviews. I've shopped at this location a handful of times through the years & have been an Ulta rewards member for a long time. I usually just do quick in & out trips (I know exactly what I need). Most recently I went to return an item that I just purchased 2 days before. The item was unopened and unused. The sales associates had such an attitude and felt the need to interrogate me about a simple return. I politely said never mind, I won't be shopping here any more. Five stars is for the Sales Associate Lee, she was amazing and very helpful, may even say more so than the manager or supervisor Anthony! My husband was trying to purchase something that was a different price online (an online sale price), when Lee suggested to BOPIS (which makes sense) because it wasn't on sale in store. Anthony was quick to shoot it down, insisting there was no other way to get it for the online sale price other than purchasing it online and having it shipped to our home 3-5 Days. My husband literally called the Chesapeake store and asked if he could do the BOPIS so he can get the sale price without having to wait for shipping, the answer was immediately yes! When he informed them of what he was told by Anthony they said "I'm sorry he told you that you couldn't, he definitely gave you false information. Everyone should definitely take advantage of the online sale price." So my husband would just like to thank Lee for her AMAZING customer service and willingness to help, and to Anthony maybe listen to your sales associates sometimes as you may not always be right. read more

Michell blatantly lied about a promotion that was applicable to all Ulta Rewards members, wasting my time and causing grave inconvenience as I had to come back to the store and wait in another line to have my purchase price adjusted, all while bringing my two young children and Alzheimer's-stricken grandmother with me both times. Michell claimed the coupon was only applicable to Ulta credit card holders, and after reading the fine print and speaking to a manager at a different store who confirmed that wasn't true, I had to go back to that store. When I brought it to her attention, she agreed and was clearly unsurprised. Other employees were asking for her to sign off on things, so she was clearly either a manager or supervisor. She would have known that a credit card was not required to use that coupon. Simply being a Ulta rewards member is what is required. I don't know why she would lie about that. She was pushing the credit card hard on myself and the women in front of me, talking the woman in front of me to get one even. Maybe on account of that lie, but who knows. Deceitful practices are unethical and unprofessional, and seeing as she was doing that to a person who was clearly overwhelmed caring for three other people- all the more cruel of Michell. This review is primarily for the salon at this ulta location. I give it one star because my stylist was very nice and cordial, albeit rough with a hairbrush. She asked what I wanted and was very thorough she just wasn't thorough in checking her work. I've tried to get in contact with the DM regarding a refund and I've yet to hear anything. I've reached out to customer service twice and I get the run around. Now on to the cut: I asked for just a trim and have my layers cleaned up. I spent most of my time faced away from the mirror so I didn't see what was going on. Now, my hair has a natural wave to it so the stylist only dried my hair a bit and let it wave so I didn't see the jagged edges and the ends and the quite uneven layers until I flat ironed it when I got home. I will be issuing a chargeback since the DM doesn't seem interested in rectifying this issue. I've even offered to email pictures over. Now I have to pay more money to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Yes, it's not a high end salon but it still cost $37 not counting tip. Walmart costs $10. read more

Coreal Jules needs a RAISE! What a freakin delight y'all have working at the eyebrow bar. Today was my first time going in for an eyebrow waxing and Coreal did an amazing job, showed me how my eyebrows should look and how to get them back to their normal/better shape and arch after my nail salon eyebrow ladies messed my brows up. I will definitely be returning to see Coreal in a few weeks to have my brows done again. Today, I was accused of shoplifting after bring in the store for less than 1 minute. The sales person that approached me asked me if I needed help and I responded "no thank you, I'm just looking for my daughter who's in here shopping." She follows up with; "do you want me to get a basket for whatever you put in your purse?" I looked at her in shocked and follow up with "I don't have anything in my purse, but my keys (as I show her the inside of purse). I located my daughter about a minute later and shouted to her "Let's go because this lady thinks I'm shoplifting!!!" I made a seen and said a few colorful words to the lady and her co-work (whom she was telling what she had just did/said to me) before leaving before I hurt one of them. Do better and training your staff not to accuse people of shoplifting without checking your store camera first! read more

I LOVE ULTA and am so happy one opened out in the country (lol). What y'all don't realize is the country coming up yo!!! We got a Kroger marketplace, a Texas Roadhouse, a shiny new Rite Aid, a Panda Express......all right here!!!!!!!! Woot woot!!!! So, brand new store, everything is shiny. I've been there like 2x a week since the grand opening and have spent my life savings on new eyeshadow palettes, the newest ABH matte liquid lipstick and a very expensive powder brush. I know, I'm obsessed....almost as obsessed with makeup as I am with food. Makeup is a close second these days. I'm very disappointed in this Ulta primarily due to the ulta employees. I've been to this ulta several times and I've never been too happy leaving the store but today I was furious. I did not like how the employee made me feel. So I purchased three items and the total was $60 dollars. I had an abundance of five dollar bills so I paid a portion of my cost with six five dollar bills. The employees took out her money counter marked the fives and then lifted up the five in the air to check. It was absolutely embarrassing and disgraceful there was absolutely no reason to do that and to each five dollar bill. I asked her if there's really a reason why she did that and she had a snarky remark. While I waited in line there were other customers that paid in cash and the employee did not check there money. I'm just very disappointed in the customer service and the employees they have hired. I've worked in retail and I know the rules about checking money... i am a mixed women who had a horrible experience here because of my beautiful skin tone and my ethnic background. i was scrolling through the store simply looking for spray tanning for the holidays and no one would greet me but rather stare at me as if i was going to steal something. i also was trying to use my rewards and they would lie to me and tell the gifts to redeem for my rewards was not available at the moment. 0/10 would not recommend. these people look at you from a racial standpoint and NOT as a PAYING customer . and Michelle the cashier, and the manager, she looked like a karen to me are the main problems their so until they leave i wont be shopping their. karma is crazy . read more

I love Ulta and this location is fairly new. The staff is super helpful and very friendly. I love Stila and I prefer Ulta over Sephora. It's spacious and not as busy and they have more stock and variety. The location is perfect. Right besides a Kroger and Marshalls. read more

I went into Ulta Beauty Salon for a textured hair style. I didn't have to wait and my appointment began on time. The woman was quiet but still friendly. After we took the curlers out of my hair I saw that it didn't look anything like what I had explained I wanted. Disappointed, I decided it was my fault I didn't accurately describe what I wanted. When I left the salon my perm completely fell. It was a complete mess. I came back and was offered a refund or another perm which I appreciated. I was given another perm which came out much better than before and the curls held. I received a gift card at Christmas so went to Ulta to purchase a few items. I also wanted to try a new concealer. Could not find anyone to help me with picking out a shade. Looked around and saw employees talking and look right at me and continue talking. After about 15 minutes I put the other items that I was going to purchase back and left the store. This isn't the biggest Ulta but it's pretty much the only store of it's kind around Suffolk and Portsmouth. I'm not sure of how I feel about the staff. They don't come across as too enthused to be of assistance but this attitude is typical of employees who work these kind of stores. They're all too cute to be bothered. This Ulta carries most of the basics and some special items. I like the selection of nail lacquers but the perfume selection might not be the most extensive. With that said, I do enjoy browsing but I don't make many purchases. read more

I expect certain things from shopping at cosmetic stores, knowledge, outstanding customer service and cleanliness. This store has all 3. The staff is wonderful and unfortunately knows me by name now! The shop is spotless and there is someone always available to help if I need it. And they know I like to be alone and play so they don't hover and let me do my thing. Best location in the area! My niece went to this location to get her hair dyed before prom. The woman who was supposed to be doing it asked another stylist if her hair needed to be toned first, and when she looked at her scalp she quickly told my niece they couldn't do her hair because she had lice. My niece was mortified and came home in tears embarrassed and grossed out, only for us to comb through her hair with a flashlight find out she didn't have lice. She quite obviously had DANDRUFF. Being uneducated about such a common thing is unacceptable as a hair stylist. We will not be going back. read more

the Ulta in Suffolk Va is very bright, clean, lots to choose from however all the Ulta's (in my area) are HOT HOT HOT! I'm sure its because of the lights but the heat makes it hard to enjoy shopping. Then theres prices....there are hardly any prices on hardly ANYTHING...then finding someone to help you ...Good Luck with that! The staff does not seem to want to be bothered. If I could give them no star that's what I would do. Where do I start... I spoke to a stylist before I made an appt she told me it would be about $140-$150 for my color, and I had a $25 off coupon so it should have been around $115-$120 at the most well they decided to charge me $204 with the $25 off coupon. 2nd they made me pay for my hair color before I even got to see my hair bc they said the store is closing and they need to close out all the transaction. So I figured since they claim they are professionals and I should be able to trust them to do my hair they way I asked or even close to it I paid them $204. Well once my hair was washed and dryed it was 4 different colors. They told me since the store is closed come back the next day at 6pm (which is today) to have the manager correct the issue. So I leave and I call next morning to speak to the manager Andrea and she has no clue what I'm talking about and tells me pretty much what is it that I want to be done. Asking me millions of questions like I'm lying or something. Either way it goes my hair is still messed up and my weekend I planned is ruined. MY ADVICE IF YOU GUYS WANT YOUR HAIR COLORED PROFESSIONALLY DONE DO BIT GO THERE AND DEF DONT MAKE THEM PAY BEFORE YOU SEE THE FINAL RESULT OF YOUR HAIR.
