I used to go a lot more but so much has changed (they don't do the Dermalogica facials any longer) and the eyebrows ladies aren't always available. If you are looking for event/wedding makeup service, Chelsea R. is your girl! She is very helpful, knowledgeable, and *most importantly* skilled. She assessed my skin type & preferences and ultimately chose to apply Clinique for the base due to my sensitive/reactive skin. Chelsea offered skincare tips as well. Much appreciated! (Seriously, when do we have the opportunity for anyone to really check the health of our skin and the impact of our makeup routines?) I also had the option to add false lashes application for just $10 more- totally worth it. Especially because Chelsea sent me home with the box so I can reuse the lashes. My appointment for both a hairstyling and makeup application lasted from 3:30pm-5:00pm. wish I could give 0 stars. I returned an item today that was purchased with a visa debit gift card (Christmas gift) and a credit card. the original transaction was well over $100, and the visa debit was $25, meaning over $75 was spent on the credit card. I reiterated that I wanted the refund back on my credit card that was used since I can no longer use the Christmas gift card that is in the trash. I was told yes but then was given an ulta gift card instead of it being refunded to the credit card I used. when I yet again reiterated that I wanted the refund on the credit card, the lady brought over a manager and explained the situation, and I was told that because the return was the amount of the gift card, that they couldn't put it on the credit card. I pointed out the total refund which was in fact more than the $25 visa gift card and reminded them both that over $75 was spent on the credit card and I'd rather have it on the credit card because I don't shop at ulta often and wouldn't use the gift card. the manager walked away and the cashier told me 'you're wrong thats travel size and it was under the $25.' I pointed at the total on the receipt which was over $25 and said 'really because it's more than that here'. And all she had to say was yes that's what's on your gift card. I again tried to kindly reexplain that i didn't want it on a gift card and didn't understand their reasoning as to why it was on a gift card and was just met with more rudeness. I booked a hair appointment last week. I got a confirmation text yesterday but today when I came in for my appointment they said since I didnt call to confirm they canceled it without telling me! I showed them the texts of confirmation and they said they didn't care and I would not be getting my hair done. The blonde working was so nasty and should be fired. She should of been apologizing but instead blamed me! How can you cancel an appointment without notifying and also send a confirmation text! My sister, mom, and I have been getting our hair done at Ulta for years and we have never had to call to confirm to keep our booking or been cancelled on with no notification! read more

This store is always an intense experience because their are so many options and you never know what to try first. I have had some awesome deals during the holidays from this store and they have coupons in the paper quite often which is nice for makeup. Kimberly personally helped me pick out an affordable and practical concealer for myself. I really valued her attention to my skin and tone; she wanted to find the best fit for me at the value and appearance that I wanted. There was no pushy sales techniques. Just had my make up done for a wedding by Lisa this morning! Some highlights: 1. She knew what she was doing. 2. She asked me a few questions about my skin type, the event, and got to work. 3. She didn't make me do the work. After she got the info she needed, she got busy. I didn't have to tell her much and she knew what colors and products to use. The whole process took around 40 minutes and I was happy with it. 4. The price is fair ($45) and they let you tip when you pay using your card, so no need for cash which I appreciate because I never have any! 5. And an extra special tip for my fellow introverts: If you're considering having a service done and you dread it or put it off because of the small talk (ugh!) or forced conversation, Lisa is your girl. She literally only spoke when I did and just did her thang the whole time. It was like a dream! Today (12/21) I went to ulta with my dad to get some Christmas presents for some family members. We were waiting in the line to check out, which took a long time which is expected in the holidays. We walked up to the next available cashier and I was a few steps in front of my dad, who was carrying our items and i moved to the side so my dad could put the items on the counter. The cashier then blurted out to me, "Girl! You need to smile. It's the holidays. Smile!" I was not greeted nor did I even look at her in the first place. It was completely embarrassing and was so abrupt that I did not have any time to react. She kept egging on at me. The whole experience with the cashier was so discouraging. As an employee of somewhere you should never say something like that. You have no idea what people are going through especially when it's during the holidays. I started coming to Ulta about 4 months ago to get my hair done. I'm honestly really picky about who I let touch my hair because I've had so many people sadly mess it up. For the past 3 times that I have come in Chelsea was my stylist and honestly I couldn't be happier with the work she has done. Every time I leave the shop I feel absolutely beautiful. I instantly call my husband or parents to show them the amazing work she did! Not only does she do an amazing job at hair but while she's doing your hair she makes sure to constantly talk to you. Employee greeted me with an offer for a free brow wax with purchase. Explained details to me as well as other customers. While I was in line (and after the wax) the cashier told another customer the details provided upon our arrival were incorrect. They had the manager come adjust at the register to honor what was told to us. When I got to the register, I was told they couldn't adjust it....even though I just witnessed them adjust it for another customer. "That manager has left and I can't do that." I paid full price for a service I wouldn't have done at this time because employees don't know the policies and managers don't know how to treat customers. I won't be back. read more

From the time I walked in till I left with $186 in hair & beauty products I felt unwelcome. The store was beautiful and well stocked, but the employees were not knowledgeable or helpful. Every time I call for a Brow Bar appointment I'm put on hold for 5-10 minutes before I have to hang up and try again. First you wait on hold for the first person to answer and then you're put on hold for the Brow Bar in which case they rarely answer. I'm so disappointed. More than once I've been put on hold by the first person only for there to be nobody even at the Brow Bar yet I sit on hold as if someone will answer. (I've figured this out because after a few tries someone finally tells me "oh, she isn't there." Thanks?). I've been going to ULTA for almost a year now and I'm over it. I found another place that took me same day, cost less, and answered the phone immediately.
