I've never been to this location since it opened in Perris but I got a gift card for my birthday and needed to go in store to match my foundation. Long story short, I have no intentions of ever going again. It is extremely tacky for an employee to yell another employee's name across the store several times. On top of this, this female employee and another female employee was doing something on the phone (idk let's hope they were working & handling an order), both looked at me twice, continued what they were doing and didn't bother asking if I needed anything. Apparently when you go into Ulta and if you have a larger or medium bag you'll most likely get asked by multiple people if you need help or if you are looking for something in particular so they can keep an eye on you and make sure your not stealing. She was so patient with me and help me find the things I was looking for. She even helped color match me. To start off, this location has always been understaffed in my opinion. Every time I come and need assistance with the high end brands, I'm left waiting more than 20min. I'm currently going on 30min and still nothing. I've made it aware more than once that I'm still waiting. This was my first time at this location. I got my haircut by Leanna. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get a cut since I thought my hair looked OK, but thought it was time for one.I showed her a couple of pics how I wanted my hair and she went beyond what I asked for. Besides cutting my hair she also washed and styled it for me. We had a good time chatting and it was a very pleasant experience. She took her time with me and I never felt rushed. Worst experience. I have a medical exemption and the worker still looked at me and said I needed to wear a mask, she then asked what my medical exemption is, which is highly illegal to do so. Am I allowed to ask your medical history? Am I allowed to ask your sexual orientation? The staff is not smart and needs more training about this. I love make up and have been to this particular Ulta 2 times since opening and both times I have been in line with at least 5 people behind me as 1 poor lonely employee works the register and 3-4 others are just behind the counter doing who knows what. The people who work the floor are super duper nice and helpful, but when it comes to paying, getting me out the door and back in for whatever, those employees don't care about losing business. I do not work retail so I don't know all the ins and outs but Geez if there's that many employees behind the counter for as long as I was in line and there's more customers behind me waiting as well, more than one should be ringing people out. I needed help finding an item. Online it said they had it in stock. When I asked the employee for help she showed me where I would find it but it wasn't there. I told her it said it was in stock but she claimed they didn't have it. She didn't even check the back. I got frustrated and ended up placing a pick up order because that was going to force the employees to look for my item. Of course I got a notification about half an hour later saying that my order was ready for pick up. First off, I love the wide variety of products in one place. Having said that, I feel the customer service excluding the cashier is lacking. I have been to four stores and all the same. The Hemet store, no help. The Elsinore store, was asked if I needed help as I have up and headed to register. The Menifee store, again after wandering, found someone to ask a question. The Perris store, the only help I got was from the Security guard who came when I finally found the product brand and was reading the labels. Thankful someone checked on me, but not for "checking up on me.". I did not appreciate what his visit impied. All stores allow you to wander all over searching for an item, with out assistance. Bottom line, great array of products, but you better know what and where in the store it is or just avoid the substandard customer service. read more
