i got the worst hair cut of my life here by love. i asked for simple bangs, and shorter LAYERS. not shorter length, which i specified at the very beginning of our appointment. i left with hair about four inches shorter (which will take me almost a year to grow back out) and bangs about an inch long. i cannot even push them back they are so short. i look like a toddler who got ahold of a pair of scissors. i had to get it fixed at a different salon, which they did for free because they felt so bad that i had to walk around looking so terrible. all i got was my appointment discounted, with no offer to fix my hair (probably because it's to short to fix). i hope no one else has their confidence ripped away like mine was when i sat in their salon! read more

Sharing my first ever online review after a disappointing experience - worst hair color ever in my life...horrible customer service, store manager demonstrated a high level of skill in manipulating situations to accuse customers rather than address issues.....Previously, I'd enjoyed good service at this salon. However, upon trying a new stylist, while initially satisfied with the cut, my balayage appointment turned into a nightmare. I communicated my wish for a light ash brown tone, but upon rushing out for another commitment, I neglected to closely inspect the result--a decision I regretted the next morning. To compound matters, I was surprised by additional charges for root blend service and a signature cut, neither of which were properly communicated. Despite feeling uneasy, I paid without question and left a decent tip, as was my habit. After checking under sunlight the next morning, the color was completely off--it's chocolate color.. much darker than before and brassy, with very uneven toning. I walked out with over $300 for this result.. After contacting the stylist, I was disappointed when she insisted we had agreed on two appointments, which wasn't true. It's clear she lacks skill in toner mixing (I have years of experience and stylist friends, so I know). The store manager skillfully avoided taking responsibility. Now, I have to pay for another process to fix my color. Watch out when booking here, as the stylists might not be consistent, and the customer service team (Store manager) might dodge responsibility. (at other places, they fixed my hair for free when needed, and I was happy to leave a good tip to support them. That's how you keep customers coming back!) read more

Ulta was a much needed addition not only to Bayshore Mall but also to the East Side/North Shore area. I would make special treks to either Sephora at Mayfair (which really isn't *that* far it just isn't always convenient) or the Ulta in Brookfield to get my prestige cosmetics or hair care products. Now I can shop for things to make me pretty all the time! Not sure if that is a good thing... ;) This location doesn't feel as large at the Brookfield store but seems to carry all of the same brands/products, at least the ones I shop for and am familiar with. It's bright and clean, and items always appear to be nearly fully stocked. The Bayshore Ulta has been opened since October, but it doesn't seem like many know about it yet. During my several visits, it has never been busy. The lack of customer footsteps made for an amazing Black Friday shopping experience as I walked away with a bag full of deals! Ulta is one of my favorite stores, especially at Bayshore. However, customer service is hit or miss... really 50/50 based on my multiple visits. Sometimes I am greeted and assisted by friendly and helpful associates; other times, it is difficult to find someone on the sales floor to answer a question, or questions are met with irritation or lack of product knowledge. That's a -1; I've work a part-time retail job for many, many years and this is simply unacceptable. I've actually taken the liberty to assist other customers in this store as I'm fairly well-versed in beauty items and love sharing personal testimony. Overall, I am very pleased with Ulta and love the location. Definitely sign up to be in their free loyalty program - you earn points on purchases and can use points for $$ off!! read more

Was in this location (Bayshore Mall) earlier today and, when I paid for my items, the sales associate asked me for my phone number to begin the transaction. When I asked her if she absolutely needed it, she said yes, that she needed a phone number or an email, in case of returns. I don't believe that Ulta's registers do not allow cashiers to ring a sale without a phone number/email. The store needs to provide better training to its associates. Other than that, the store seemed well stocked, but also a bit messy. read more

I really like this store. As someone who is new to wearing makeup, the lady that helped me was great! I told her what I was looking for and she offered to color match me! That was a great experience because if I had known that earlier, I wouldn't have bothered wasting money on trying powder foundation. Womp womp. You live and learn. If you're new to makeup and are just as clueless as I was, do yourself a favor and do some research and/or go to get a color match at Ulta. It's completely free! No strings attached to the color match. They don't pressure you to buy anything and are willing to try multiple products. So the reason I'm giving 4 stars is because it's pricey and also because not all the employees are created equal. I've been in a few times and all the employees are so nice! But I went in the other weekend with my best friend so that she would get color matched. He was great at figuring out a color match for my friend, but not so much for me. He obviously wasn't too experienced with darker skin tones. Not a huge deal! It was fine because I've figured out what works for me. I'll definitely be frequenting this store, in person or online. :) read more

Ulta Beauty has and will always be my go to place to get Fabulous. Previous to this one opening up I would make special trips out to brookfield just to score my favorite cosmetics. Needless to say now that i have my favorite beauty candystore within miles of my house my wallet is in serious trouble! Let me tell you what you will find here : Prestige Brands like my favoites: Urban Decay, Benefit, Bare Minerals, Too Faced Etc Etc Etc also you will find every drug store brand you can think of Think covergirl, loreal paris etc if your into that. Plus they have a full service Hair Salon! As well as aisle of shampoo - hair product. Redken Matrix Big Sexy Hair, Tigi etc!!! Really any beauty need you can think of they have it and honestly ladies they always have the best prices and great incentives on the loyalty card. I went into Ulta for a haircut with neena about a month back and it did not come out the way I wanted. I came back a few weeks later for a color appointment with the same person (neena) I was 100% clear with the color I wanted . First off she did not show me any swatches and continued on with my hair as if she knew what she was doing. I wanted brown and I left with pitch black hair and my hair has been falling out like crazy since. Not sure how one who's been doing hair for 20 years messes up one single color when my hair was already brown to begin with. Neena told me the color would lighten in the sun. Unsure of this logic but after two weeks I contacted her and she expected me to come in and pay another extra charge for her mistake. Would not recommend and I am highly disappointed I have to go on with hair I do not like one bit. read more

I got a terrible haircut here and the hair stylist did not lesson to me on the consultation. I asked for a blunt hair cut with all the ends even. She put layers at the bottom of my hair and made the back look uneven. Now my hair does not hold together and when I curl it it go into a bubble. read more

I reviewed this awhile back and had great things to say . I wish I could still feel the same way. On several visits I received no help and felt like the employees just wanted to chat with there coworkers instead of help. Then I decided to have a haircut , which Was a well done cut however I had some damage repairing treatment performed and I can honestly say I don't know why this is even being sold. They wash your hair then apply a product to wet hair then take what looks like a giant flat iron and burn your hair. I'm so shocked by this treatment. I have so much heat damage from it and will recommend others to stay away from it. read more

World, I admit it, as a 27 year old I had never worn or used any products for my skin that was not from a drug store. Recently my face has started to resemble a pepperoni pizza leaving me to feel like an adolescent teenager. I figured it was time to rethink the products I was using and stopped in ULTA one day. I was really awkward at first, I mean I'm a little old to not really know how to take care of my skin but whatevs. I've never had to give it much thought. I went in and just kind of waited for someone to come up to me, classic terrible customer. Then someone came up and I sheepishly said I was fine. DANGIT my awkward self, I'm not fine, I do need help with my pepperoni face. I got up the gumption to go back to the employee and explain my problems. The employee listened (I wish I would have gotten her name, I was too awkward at the time) and gave me some instant suggestions. She could tell I was budget conscious and gave me some options that would work best for me. She started me on some new foundation and this acne clearing kit. It has been about a week with the new products and my skin is ten times better. I've learned my lesson world, listen to people that are experts in their field and you cannot go wrong. I love that they have a variety of brands with every product imaginable for cosmetics. However, every time I ask for help on choosing a product or comparing similar items I get the same response from the sales associates, "Well the only product I know is the high end super premium brand and _____ is the best so I would recommend that one." Well I don't get an Ulta employees discount or free samples and would prefer not to pay $40 for eyelash primer or whatever it is. It would be nice to have a general knowledge about what the products aim to due and if there is a lower end product that performs well. The staff should make a greater attempt to learn about the products, if not through personal experience through brand ambassadors. Great place to go if you know exactly what you want. read more

I was at this store yesterday about 4:00 p.m I saw two Asian teenagers picking up the lip liners and trying each on then putting them back on the shelf. After yelling at them and telling them that what they are doing is gross and unsanitary I went up to one of the clerks and explained what had happened. She shook her head and went up to the counter and started taking customers. How about going over the shelf so I can tell you which ones are used. I will NEVER buy lip liner at this place. I hope these two girls get the biggest cold sores from other morons who do the same thing. read more

Snobby clerks...My boyfriend and I stood in the check out line and heard customers asked for a free facial appointment by the cashier ladies. I walk up and no invitation was given to me? Didn't make a fuss but my bf agrees that's odd. Another visit...I'm walking around looking at different products. The clerk walks past me and asks another customer who's browsing if she needs assistance. Ok, I'm not Caucasian...is it racism or that white people just want to help their own kind? I came in to get my hair dyed and i was pleased with the service, and it exceeded all my expectations. I was excited about my new hair color and was told it would last 5-6 weeks. That was good enough. When they gave me the receipt, I was surprised. It costed 100 dollars for a simply getting the tips of my hair dyed temporarily. Thats not even the worst part. A day after i got back, I took a shower using the shampoo they gave me. When started washing my hair with the shampoo, the color of my new hair dye came out with the shampoo. I usually frequent the Ulta in Greenfield but have been going to the one at Bayshore more recently, mostly because the staff at the bayshore location have been friendlier and more helpful. I was rarely ever greeted or helped by anyone at the Greenfield but there always seems to be some wine available to help at the Bayshore location.Although, the Bayshore location doesn't carry Lancôme products so I'll still have to go to different locations for a few of my products. I also highly recommend Gwen at the Benefit Brow Bar Counter for waxing services and eyebrow products! read more
